On visiting it is very welcoming, comfortable, peaceful and clean. The staff extremely helpful and nothing too much trouble for them 24/7. Clients room is always well presented and cared for, also with their own furniture and treasures is very homely.

Overall Experience

My mother is very well cared for physically, medically and mentally. She has severe dementia. I visit most days to help encourage her drinking - soup, tea, milkshakes etc. I find the staff welcoming, supportive and caring. Mum is included in appropriate activities. The laundry staff are as efficient as they can be. They have difficulty in putting residents clothes away when it's not named! Understandable, clothes are washed every day. Food is appropriate to individual needs.

A very caring atmosphere. My mother is 95 years old and the staff make a great fuss of her which she loves. She is secure and has visibly relaxed since she came here. Before, she was always worried as anybody would be. It is reassuring to know that she can spend whatever time she has left being looked after in a caring and loving way. Thank you.

My husband entered Catchpole Court in February 2016. We were straight away met by the staff, who made him comfortable in his room.
I was taken by the nurse to fill in the paperwork, then shown all around the home and introduced to the carers and made a cup of tea. Next, I met the manager and was made to feel very welcome.
During the following months, I have been very happy with the care and attention my husband had received. Staff are always on hand to help and advice if needed.

I would certainly recommend Catchpole to any family who needed similar care.

We love this home. The staff are so caring and look after the residents so well. Today they had a hog roast day in the garden with live music. My mother in law has only been here a short time and can be really difficult but the staff take it in their stride and are able to deal with her beautifully. She had a great time today and was even up dancing and singing along. I can't remember when I last saw her so happy as she had been in the hospital for months and a different care home who didn't have a clue how to deal with dementia patients unless they were doped up and sleeping. Catchpole Court is the perfect place for our loved ones to be looked after with care and compassion.

Thank you to the manager and her caring staff.

For any family who has to put a member of their loved ones into a home, it becomes very difficult. However, I would definitely recommend Catchpole Court. I regularly visit Catchpole and have found the staff very kind and caring towards all residents, (especially with Dementia and Alzheimers). The activity leader offers much-valued support to both residents and their families and this is clear to see this benefits all.

Reply from Marie Smale, Home Manager at Catchpole Court Nursing Home

Thank you so much for your kind words. The staff work very hard to ensure that the Residents receive a high standard of individualised care. Gainsborough Unit have received a specialist Dementia Award which is well deserved.

It is a very clean and tidy home, well maintained, all the staff are very good to the residents. The carers are very good and hard working, nothing is too much trouble, rooms are clean and tidy. I would recommend it to a lot of people, the management and the nursing staff are brilliant also. The caretakers are very good with maintaining everything, they do the painting, gardening and all the other things to make the home look better. They should have a pay rise!

I am happy with the care most of the time. My husband doesn't like noise so I would like him to sit mainly in a quiet area. I would like him to wear his glasses whilst I'm here visiting him. No problems regarding hygiene in the home. Eyes need more attention.

Overall Experience

In extreme and very testing circumstances Catchpole performs extremely well. Dealing with dementia creates many physical and emotional problems. There is no perfect solution, the range of demands on all staff and on the facilities provided are wide ranging, The delivery of these services demands a great deal of patience, experience (that comes with time) and compassion. In addition there are 'technical' aspects handling, hygiene, health and safety. The staff here embrace all these with a positive attitude. There are failures but these are all outweighed by the positives. I am truly grateful and satisfied with the service provided.
