Chilton Croft Nursing Home

My father-in-law was in this home and was looked after with care and dignity. He loved the food and loved the staff. The manager was so lovely and genuine. They cannot do enough for you. It's a ten out of ten from me. He was so contented in the home.

We wouldn't hesitate to let any of our relations move into here.

My mother had been a resident at Chilton Croft Nursing Home for almost two years. Sadly, she has now passed away but the care and thoughtfulness shown by the staff during her last week cannot be stressed enough. Over the many hours that I was with my mother, many members of staff would come in, not only to check on her but also to see if I was alright and to share their memories of my mother. They helped to make a difficult time bearable. I know that my mother was happy and well cared for at Chilton Croft and that the decision to take her there was the right one.

The staff, from management to cleaner, have been friendly and helpful. They always listen to any requests and if they can help they will.

Very impressed with this cheerful and friendly nursing home. Arrived here in quite poor condition initially but was soon put to rights by the professional and conscientious care to be found here. Staff are universally helpful; nothing too much trouble for anyone. Would highly recommend to anybody looking for sound, nursing care in a warm and welcoming environment.

Our mother has been a resident here for nearly a year. We visit twice a week on different days and at different times and have found a consistently high level of care and standards. The staff have always been good at offering an open and welcoming attitude and been responsive to our comments and requests about our views on Mum's needs. Staff seem consistently caring and understanding toward Mum and she seems happy with her environment, food, medication support and staff care and attitude toward her. Her room and the general areas are kept clean - it has always been a pleasurable and reassuring experience when we spend time with Mum at Chilton Croft Nursing Home.

I have visited at different times and days of the week and have always found there are lots of staff being helpful and friendly. My cousin is always clean and groomed and her room is clean. My cousin is happy about the meals and they made her a birthday cake which pleased her. She is up, enjoying others' company and activities and interaction with plenty of staff and they are there for all her needs. It is good to leave her knowing she is being well cared for and is safe.

I would happily recommend the care home to others.

My husband resides in Chilton and has been here for a year now. I am very happy with the level of service and the staff are friendly and very efficient at their jobs and really seem to care about the residents. Nursing is very good as well. Food is prepared well and they are always happy to change their meal plan to suit residents' individual needs. Overall I would recommend Chilton. Hygiene and cleanliness are excellent.

I believe that he received the best care that he possibly could have and would have no hesitation in recommending Chilton Croft after working in care myself for 30+ years.

The home has not been run that well for a long time, particularly requesting particular meals. The care staff do a good job overall and communication is better, but being able to speak with my mother isn't always easy and the phone volume/clarity has been poor.

We have no hesitation in recommending Chilton Croft Nursing Home as a friendly and welcoming home with caring staff.

Caring environment. I have observed stimulating interactions by staff with residents. I am kept informed of incidents with my mum due to her challenging behaviour caused by her dementia.

I cannot comment on activities and value for money as I don't know.

The staff were caring, helpful and approachable. I would recommend this home to anyone.

On entering the home you receive a warm welcome, all the staff on duty seem happy and interacting with the residents. Every time I have visited there is a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of tea and biscuits on hand for everyone. My mum has settled really well and had been made to feel like one of the family even having a little job at mealtimes handing out tabards.

I promised my wife I would never place her in care! However, having witnessed her deterioration (with Alzheimer's) and my effort to try and care for her, for the past 2 years, I realized she required far better attention than I could provide. After over 63 years of marriage this, for me, was a very difficult decision to make. Having witnessed the care she is receiving I got it right.

We have found all staff to be helpful and caring, kind, and understanding. Any medical needs have been met and effectively. Very grateful for all the attention given to Mother.

There are always activities if required by the residents. The food is good and the drinks plentiful.
