Located in Saxted, Woodbridge, Foxearth Lodge provides residential, nursing, respite and dementia care to local residents in the area of Saxtead. With the specialist knowledge to also provide care for younger people with disabilities, Foxearth Lodge embraces its family-feel and delivers a calming and cheery environment that resident’s can call home.

Foxearth Lodge is on the outskirts of the historical market town of Framlingham, surrounded by the beautiful Suffolk countrysides and well-kept gardens for residents to enjoy. The accommodation has been designed to enhance independence and dignity for residents, with a variety of communal spaces for quiet contemplation or more engaging group activities, should the resident wish to join.

Foxearth Lodge is well integrated with the local community and has a fantastic activities coordinator to deliver engaging and varied activities for residents. Whether it may be a charity day for Alzheimer’s Society, Cooking or Zumba, Foxearth Lodge is dedicated to providing outstanding care and activities on a personal level.

The home is arranged over two floors and has 65 bedrooms that are fully furnished, ready to be personalised to make for a real home-from home. Residents are encouraged to bring their own personal items and furniture, to ensure their room really feels like their own. The home also offers two double bedrooms to accommodate couples. There are a selection of lounges and communal areas, a dining room and an in-house hair salon for residents to enjoy, surrounded by well-kept gardens with flower beds and mature trees.

Care from the staff is excellent, could not ask for more caring and loving staff. Brilliant activities. However, after reporting things to repair it did take quite a long time to be done.

Staff always very friendly and provide an excellent level of care for my mother. I am always updated by phone if there are any problems regarding Mother and we always feel that she is being looked after. Overall I would review the home as excellent, the two comments of good regarding facilities are
based on the fact that Mother does not participate in activities (through choice) so I can't comment. I do feel the food could be improved and the frayed napkins replaced.

The staff always try their best even when they are very busy and pleasant and have smiles on their faces. The food is nearly always served on time and hot when that is required and nicely cooked. The two housekeepers have been very helpful to me. They seem to be able to deal with anything that comes

I arrived at Foxearth Lodge Nursing Home on 15/01/24 for a 4-week visit. Not knowing what to think about the nursing home, it was really a very pleasant surprise. The building containing the nursing home was in every detail marvellously suitable. The experience of my stay in the home was very and entirely
comfortable. The routine of the stay was made up by excellent meals from a very happy kitchen staff. The staff of the home were always welcoming and entirely friendly. The service provided was excellent.

My mum moved here in August 2023 after being too confused to remain at home. She and I were made very welcome by everyone. All the staff are very friendly caring and go above and beyond.
I am always kept informed of any changes to Mum's needs and care and the management team are very helpful. I can
see Mum is cared for amazingly as due to commitments I visit at all different times and the standard is so high always. Mum's room is cosy and kept amazingly clean.
There is always entertainment for the residents with so much variety.
I was so worried about my mum moving into a home - but I shouldn’t have been. Mum is very happy, safe and well looked after by an amazing team of people.

My stepfather came to Foxearth at very short notice, but was immediately made welcome by everyone. From day 1, staff and management have gone out of their way to see to his needs and make him part of their family. Now, after two months, he is enjoying life and taking an active part in daily activities.
We, as visitors, are made to feel very welcome and are happy to know he is in such good, safe hands.

An outstanding care home. Very well run, caring staff and an extensive range of activities every week. Foxearth has been able to provide a wonderful home for both my mother and father, each of whom has very different care needs. The setting is wonderful, with beautiful gardens. My father says the food

I could not think of a better care home for my mother, my brother and I are very lucky that she is so well cared for. Amazing staff, all of them make everyone feel so at home. Lovely room, even have my mother doing activities which she enjoys. Food is very good. Lovely warm room and my mother seems

When we heard my wife was being moved to Foxearth Lodge from another care home we were concerned about the distance from her former home in Bungay. However, despite the many car journeys over eighteen months, we were delighted at the way she responded to the care and attention provided in Woodbridge.
She got to know her carers very well and, whilst still able, spoke of her days with you very warmly. Her final end was handled very sympathetically. At her funeral last week, a most moving experience, Foxearth Lodge was spoken of most highly.

Today, we had a lovely visit to see Dad. I always feel sad when I visit, as all residents have lost so much, their autonomy, skills, memories and hobbies. I feel unsure what to say now Dad has so little language and understanding of our previous shared interests. Today, Dad was sleepy and struggling
to support himself, slumped forward in his armchair, unable to understand he could lean back. Members of staff took time to explain he was extra dozy from his monthly cancer injection. We spent some private time in the courtyard, with its gorgeous smelling roses, wind chimes, and vegetable patch, then had afternoon tea and cake sitting round a kitchen table like old times. Dad was still dozy and struggled to get comfortable, so two members of staff helped him to bed, while others chatted with us about how he has been lately. Throughout our visit, everyone was so helpful to us, and kind and caring towards Dad. I left feeling much happier, and feeling he is in the best possible place.

All the staff at Foxearth Lodge Nursing Home are attentive, thoughtful, caring and kind.
For us, as a family, they were always welcoming, encouraging us to join in activities with Mum and participate in decisions about her care; their priority being her comfort, enjoyment and dignity.
Sittings as
it does in the depths of the Suffolk countryside, where the sheep can be heard from the residents' rooms, the setting is really special. The gardens are maintained beautifully and are perfect for a gentle walk and some fresh air.
Towards the end of her life, teamwork was their strength, they respected our final days together but were always available, guiding us and supporting our needs even when we didn't recognise them ourselves.
Moving a loved one into a nursing home is tough but looking back, we will remember our experience at Foxearth with smiles, grateful thanks and much respect for all the staff.

We are always very impressed with Foxearth Lodge. Everyone who lives here is well looked after. There is always a happy atmosphere. The staff here provide good activities to stimulate people here. Loung looks good after redecoration and new wing armchairs. There are pleasant gardens. The food menus

My husband has been in Foxearth for two years in the dementia unit. My observation has been that the staff and management of the place are excellent, friendly, and caring, and have lots of laughter and fun.
Since restrictions have been lifted the activities are full on with a lot of variety and something
for everybody. Since we have a relatively new manager the contact with relatives of residents has improved enormously, and we can feel isolated sometimes. It's good to have the occasional meeting and air views. My main gripe is the standard of the rooms and home generally. Tired furnishings which need updating. But in my view, the most important thing is care.

My aunt has had wonderful care at Foxearth Lodge. The love and care that she received from all of the staff have been so reassuring. It was always a pleasure to visit her and listen to her tell me what delicious meals she had eaten and which staff were looking after her today. The staff always made

I had a choice of two super homes for my father, who had been in the hospital for ten weeks and was very close to dying and extremely weak. He has been at Foxearth now for seven months, going from strength to strength. He is liking his routine and care, is comfortable and no longer talks about wanting
to die as he did when living alone. Although Dad is quiet, he's satisfied with watching television and eating simple diabetic meals of his choice. The staff are extremely kind and helpful.

My mum, unfortunately, suffered a severe stroke in May 2022.
She was moved from the hospital to Foxearth in October, and all I can say is thank you so much to all the staff for making Mum feel so at home.
Foxearth is such a lovely place, and Mum is extremely happy.
I can't recommend Foxearth and
all of the staff highly enough.

My mother has received wonderful care at Foxearth. It is very comforting to know that she feels safe and is well cared for. All of the staff are outstanding, and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are lovely. It's great to know that the meals are enjoyed and that the residents and staff always have
a happy smile on their faces. When I visit my mother, I am always updated with information about my mother and if the staff have any concerns. Foxearth is a great place.

My parents, who died within days of each other, were cared for with gentleness, grace, love and respect during their time at the home and in particular during their last hours.

My mother feels safe and cared for in Foxearth Lodge Nursing Home which is a family-run home and feels like a home from home. The staff goes to great lengths to ensure that patients and relatives feel confident in the care that they provide. Individual needs are catered for and respected. Communication
ensures that family and friends know what is going on and this has been especially true during covid.

We provide permanent and respite accommodation for individuals with residential, nursing, respite, palliative, care for younger adults with disabilities, nursing dementia care and specialist care needs. Our services include complete en-suite rooms. Additionally, we offer privately funded, local authority, and NHS-funded placements.

Having worked at Foxearth Lodge for many years in different departments, I’ve been able to learn, progress and move into my new administrative role, which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed since April 2024. My previous experience as a Team Leader allowed me to build strong relationships with residents and their families, and this continues in my admin role as I now support the beginning of each resident’s journey through assessments and early discussions. I hold IT qualifications and a Level 3 in Health and Social Care, which support me in my work and ongoing career development.
