I am pleased my sister is here because she is very well looked after and she is happy. The home engages the residents with many activities, which I engage with as well. Find the rooms are always nice and clean, and the staff are very friendly.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We are so pleased to hear that your sister is happy and well cared for in our home. Your kind comments about our friendly staff and the cleanliness of the home are greatly appreciated and will be shared with the team. Thank you for your continued support.
From the very beginning, we felt looked after in a kind, thoughtful and caring way. My husband is the recpient and I, his wife, visit every day and feel welcome. Discretion and dignity are respected. We appreciate the kindness, physical strength in administering support, the high standard of organisation, the competence and efficiency.
Thank you so much for your lovely review and kind words. It truly means a great deal to us to hear that both you and your husband have felt welcomed, supported, and cared for since joining our home.

The resident has been here for 9 months, and I feel she is very happy and settled. A happy atmosphere, I visit every week.

Creating a warm, happy, and welcoming atmosphere for both residents and their families is very important to us. We truly appreciate your continued support and are pleased that your weekly visits are always a positive experience.
The staff encourage mum to come out of her room to join in the activities and she really enjoys it.
I have found all the staff to be informative and friendly.
The office staff and manager are always readily available for a chat.
I would highly recommend this care home.
Was informed by a night worker that Mum was being taken to hospital. Am so grateful that this worker called 999 and go tmy mum help she needed at that time. A good outcome.
They listen. They respond. They act. They care. Haughgate House put the 'care' into caring.
The staff in the home are a team and they are all a very kind ,caring team, all of them deserve a medal. The respect , dignity and love they show to residents is outstanding.
I really think this place is the gold standard, if only all homes could be like this.
I am truly stunned by this home and congratulate the manager and all the staff for the love and care they show my beloved brother in law.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review. We're happy to hear that your brother-in-law is receiving such great care, enjoying the meals, and the friendly atmosphere created by our team at Haughgate House. I will pass on your kind comments to the whole team. Once again thank you for your review.
I visited my uncle, unannounced, and was very impressed with the way in which he is being cared for. He has always looked immaculate before he moved in, and he looked immaculate today. His clothes very smart and clean. I joined an activity with him. Bingo. He then felt he didn't want to play and was given the option to just watch. The member of staff was very up to date with his individual needs and what activities he prefers. Whilst also bearing in mind that he enjoys being quiet. I was very pleased with all I saw.
The manager and all staff went above and beyond. They were respectful and professional and their compassion shone through. Many thanks to all.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this kind review. Staff at Haughgate House take such pride in providing outstanding, person-centred care and enriching the lives of our residents. Your mother was a lovely lady and she is very much missed by us all.
My mother spent the last six weeks of her life in Haughgate. The staff were amazing, they cared for my mother with such kindness and compassion.
The staff and managers was also so prepared of the family, myself, my mother and my son.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us, we are so grateful for your kind words.
My second stay at Haughgate House for respite care. Managers. nurses, carers very helpful and kind. Food excellent. I strongly recommend Haughgate House.
It is always so nice to hear words like kind, and helpful used to describe our staff. Thank you also for your positive comments regarding our home and team. It is always our pleasure to welcome you at Haughgate House.
When I arrived after a knee replacement there was no shower chair, raised toilet seat, sharps box or suitable chair to sit in. Items took 4-7 days to arrive. No running water for 2 mornings. Most of the staff had no or little command of the English language nor understanding of caring needs. No visit to my room by the manager to check everything was in order. Noisy room next to lift especially during the night. Woken at 7am, no breakfast until after 9am. Food was not appetising a bad experience, leaving me depressed.
Really quite excellent care by all staff, from the manager and admin staff down to all carers. Some difficulty in understanding foreign-born carers but they were most conscientious. Manager and admin staff were hands-on at all times.
Mum is physically so much more healthy than she has been in a long time and it's a relief to see how content she always is - we are so grateful.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Your kind words and support mean so much to the team at Haughgate House. We really appreciate you taking the time to submit a review. Best wishes.
Having checked a few nursing homes for our dad after several bad falls and a miserable stay in hospital, I have to say that Haughgate House was literally a breath of fresh air. Tasteful decor, spotlessly clean but with a warm homely feeling. We knew this would be a difficult move for Dad as leaving his home and especially his garden was not ever considered but was welcomed with open arms by all staff, going above and beyond their care to ensure Dad is happy and safe. Dad loves the food and is really looking forward to spring when he can venture into the garden. So a huge thank you to everyone for all the hard work they have put into making a place to call home and allowing us as a family to put the worries of Dad's care to one side and just enjoy special visits with him!
Thank you for leaving us such a heartfelt review. It is a pleasure to be able to care for your father and support you as a family. Your comments mean a great deal to the team at Haughgate House. Thank you again for taking a moment to share your thoughts with us. Kind regards.
When it is considered that the resident is expecting to receive all the welfare issues for someone in care. However, as my wife is 75, she does have a little difficulty with activities due to limited movement. The wider issues of her care is very satisfactory when you consider the mental issues that she has and need a slightly different approach. There is the added advantage that visitors receive when visiting residents.
We were so impressed from the moment we visited Haughgate House to see if it was the right place for Dad. Now Dad is a resident. we are so happy he is there. All staff from the manager, back office, activity, kitchen and care staff are wonderful. When you enter it feels like home, staff engage with Dad allowing him to hear their experiences and for him to share his. Haughgate House has provided a safe, caring and varied environment removing all the worries and concerns we had as a family. Thank you!
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us.
Both my over ninety year old parents were moved to Haughgate House following a traumatic stay in hospital after a joint fall. They were given side by side bedrooms and visits to see each other facilitated whenever desired. They even managed to get my completely immobile dad onto my mum's bed for a last cuddle. Sadly, Mum's time there was only three weeks and Dad five, but they made sure that it was a stay with dignity and kindness. So many caring people; the nurses, healthcare assistant and wonderful kitchen staff always made us as comfortable as our parents (including providing several of us wonderful meals). They facilitated a stay with my mum around the clock for my sister, niece and I whilst Mum was dying. We won’t ever forget that and all the carers. A particular thank you to one young carer whose warmth with my dad was the only thing that could light him up at times; holding his hand, giving him a hug and patiently feeding him. We will forever be in your debt. Thank you!
All of the team at Haughgate House are very grateful to read your kind words and it was an absolute pleasure caring for your parents. We are so pleased to hear that you feel that they received the best care you could ever wish for....

Meet the Team (4)

Haughgate House has recently welcomed a new Care Home Manager, who is focused on maintaining high standards of care and supporting our dedicated team.

My name is Renan and I am always happy to hear your suggestions so we can best meet your needs and choices

I believe my strong organisation skills, and positive relationships with staff, residents and their families are what make me good at my job. What I enjoy most about working in a care home is that every day presents different challenges, and I get to interact with residents and their families. To enrich the lives of our residents, I take a personal interest in them and ensure they and their loved ones are up-to-date with events and changes happening.

I love working in this beautiful, homely environment; it doesn’t feel like work when you enjoy what you do! My passion is making residents happy through group and one-on-one engagement, ensuring they’re always smiling. I hold NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care and Customer Service.
