On the whole, mum's stay at Haughgate House has been very good. She is made as comfortable as possible and staff are pleasant and helpful. The manager runs a tight ship and is very efficient and responds promptly to questions and issues when needed. Plus has a good working relationship with her staff.
Dear, N R, thank you for taking the time to complete a review for Haughgate House. I appreciate how difficult this time must be for you. I am pleased to hear that you are happy with the support your Mum is receiving and for your kinds words. Best wishes Judith
Dad has received excellent care at Houghgate House Nursing Home, staff and facilities are brilliant.
My aunty has been cared for here for almost two years. She is exceptionally well cared for and treated with love, kindness and respect by every member of the team. We have had meals with her when we visit, and they are extremely good. I would like to thank every member of staff for all they do - it is very much appreciated.
We have been visiting my aunty here for about two years. We have always found her so well looked after in all aspects. The staff are always pleasant, polite and care for all the residents. She is cared and loved.
Best wishes.
A welcoming home with caring staff. My grandmother is fully supported by staff. Management and nurses support my mum, who struggles with my grandmother. Activities are a bit slow and not always in the afternoon.
The care my uncle received was outstanding in every way. All members of staff have shown themselves to be caring, friendly and respectful, the home itself is welcoming and well kept and I would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a home for their loved one.
Dear Janette Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to add a review for Haughgate and the staff. It is always so lovely to receive such positive feedback from relatives and very much appreciated by the staff who work so hard to ensure that the care that is delivered to our residents is both caring and compassionate. Best wishes Judith.
Rooms are pleasant and adequately appointed.
Thank you for your time in reviewing Haughgate, it is always good to receive such positive feedback from the residents relatives. Kindest regards
Judith
Very happy here. My daughter is allowed to bring her dogs in.
I'm quite happy in all ways - everyone helps.
Thank you, Flo, it's so lovely to receive such positive feedback, all will improve further with the extension soon to be handed over. Thank you for your support, see you next week. Best wishes.
Suffering from Parkinson's disease I have been very well looked after. I have always found carers helpful whatever the hour.
Thank you for your review and positive feedback. I am so glad you have settled into your new home so quickly and that the team here at Haughgate are supporting you well. Thank you JH.
They still managed to deliver good care.
I find the staff extremely helpful and kind. They are very understanding. The food is appreciated by my uncle. He has been taken out several times by the activities team. There is always something for the residents to take part in if they so wish. I always find him very clean when I visit.
Thank you for your kind words, it is always lovely to receive positive feedback to enable recognition to be given to the staff for the care and support they deliver at Haughgate House. Thank you for spending the time to review the home, this is very much appreciated.
Kindest regards Judith
Activity staff are very good and the health care assistants as well.
My father at all times was treated with dignity, care and above all love by all the staff. Equally, my mother, who spent so many hours at his side was treated with respect and care.
We have found Haughgate House to be a very special place for my father to spend the last months of his life. The nursing standards were very good - he was physically well cared for but equally importantly he was treated with dignity and affection. This caring attitude was evident in all of the staff. The building was homely and comfortable. The extended family were kept well-informed and felt
The staff are caring and cheerful when responding to his needs. They are always welcoming towards me on my daily visits. I am very happy with the care received.
There are various activities to do, although there could be a few more trips out.
The staff are all friendly and helpful.
A water cooler/drinks machine with cups would be a nice addition (plumbed to fresh water) this would encourage more residents/visitors to help everyone drink more.
I don't like male carers. This is mainly at night. The care is good and some staff always do extra jobs for me. I like keep fit, trips and shopping. I'm happy just sitting in the garden. I would like more singing and entertainment.
Mum went into Haughgate Nursing Home in December 2016 and the main problem we have had since then is that the level of care is inconsistent. She often feels that she is a burden when she wants to use the commode and was told by a carer early one morning to use her pad because they did not have time to put her on the commode. She is incontinent and as such will avoid having a drink.
I would like to thank you for your review and fully take on board your concerns raised. We have since had a conversation and I will continue to give you regular updates on all matters.
Straight away I was impressed with the friendly and caring atmosphere at Haughgate House. It made the otherwise difficult decision of choosing the right home so much easier. I trust the staff and appreciate their skill, integrity and friendship.

Meet the Team (4)

Haughgate House has recently welcomed a new Care Home Manager, who is focused on maintaining high standards of care and supporting our dedicated team.

My name is Renan and I am always happy to hear your suggestions so we can best meet your needs and choices

I believe my strong organisation skills, and positive relationships with staff, residents and their families are what make me good at my job. What I enjoy most about working in a care home is that every day presents different challenges, and I get to interact with residents and their families. To enrich the lives of our residents, I take a personal interest in them and ensure they and their loved ones are up-to-date with events and changes happening.

I love working in this beautiful, homely environment; it doesn’t feel like work when you enjoy what you do! My passion is making residents happy through group and one-on-one engagement, ensuring they’re always smiling. I hold NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care and Customer Service.
