Kirkley Manor Nursing Home is a nursing home by the sea, registered with the Care Quality Commission to treat complex care needs, which only qualified Nurses are allowed to provide. They employ their own team of fully trained and qualified nurses and carers, and never use agency staff. You can rest assured that they will meet your relative’s needs, whether it be a serious illness, physical disability, dementia, nursing care, or caring for them in the last stages of their life.

The home also has a full activities program delivered by dedicated trained staff and aims to have something for everyone. Whatever their level of ability, residents are supported to keep active in body and mind through enjoyable and stimulating beneficial pastimes, either individually or with others.

They are developing person-centred care practice. This means they focus on the person, not only their need. They listen and get to know each person's strengths, qualities, likes, dislikes, and their sense of humour, and as they and family members help them to understand their life story, you can be confident they will be supported to exercise as much choice and control over their life as possible.

They believe everyone is a unique individual, with unique talents, and that everyone deserves the same opportunity to live life to the full, so they don’t treat people differently based on their condition, especially dementia. I find Kirkley Manor to be a very well run home. Always clean and very helpful staff. Excellent grounds for residents to use in warmer weather.

Mum has been in Kirkley Manor for approximately one year, she has been treated with such kindness, warmth and generosity of spirit. It has made a potentially very sad situation so much easier to bear, for her to no longer be in her own home was such a difficult decision for all our family, however,
the staff have made the transition so effortlessly, nothing is ever too much trouble and mums welfare is at the heart of everything they do. I am so very happy mum is well cared and could never put into words how grateful we are as a family.

I joined Kirkley Manor in May 2024 as a registered nurse, embracing my commitment to high-quality care and leadership. My passion lies in advocating for vulnerable individuals and fostering a supportive, compassionate environment, which has been instrumental in my advancement to Deputy Manager. Known for my strong clinical skills, compassionate care, and team-building abilities, I strive to create a thriving environment where both residents and staff feel supported and valued.

Job Title: Hospitality Manager

I have been in Hospitality for the past 20 years, managing various areas including Hotels & Restaurants/Pubs and managing events across Norfolk & Suffolk. My experience has enabled me to work within lots of different environments, but the basis has always been the same for me, and that is, if you have happy people, then you will have a happy and enjoyable environment, which is key to success. I am a big believer in hospitality being something that everyone should enjoy, whether you are an employee within Hospitality or a customer/resident. With my experience, this has enabled me to have a good understanding of all areas and departments, and this enables me to be able to make a difference in all areas and ensure that all departments can deliver a high level of service. I am passionate about what I do, and my main focus is on people. Talking to people and seeing them smile and be happy is what gives me satisfaction.


In my own time, my passion is my family, and nothing gives me greater enjoyment than spending time with my wife and son and the rest of my family and friends and creating memories and experiences together. Alongside that, I love to play tennis and run and go on walks in the countryside.

My keen interest in hydration and nutrition proves invaluable in maintaining residents' optimal health, leading me to actively participate in Kirkley Manor's nutritional forum.


Beyond my culinary expertise, I thrive on engaging with residents, fostering a sense of belonging with the meals served. My comfort in running the kitchen is matched only by my contentment in the care sector, relishing the homely atmosphere at Kirkley Manor.


Outside of work, my passion extends to being a dedicated season ticket holder for Ipswich Town, alongside my commitment to my family.
