With over 15 years of nursing experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and dedication to my role as Deputy Manager at Kirkley Manor Care Home. After completing my nursing education in India in 2006, I moved to the UK in 2008, where I had the opportunity to work in both care homes and acute hospital settings. I joined Kirkley Manor in May 2024 as a registered nurse, embracing my commitment to high-quality care and leadership. My passion lies in advocating for vulnerable individuals and fostering a supportive, compassionate environment, which has been instrumental in my advancement to Deputy Manager. Known for my strong clinical skills, compassionate care, and team-building abilities, I strive to create a thriving environment where both residents and staff feel supported and valued.
Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my family and friends. Sharing special moments with my husband and children keeps me grounded and inspired in my mission to deliver exceptional care at Kirkley Manor.
I have been in Hospitality for the past 20 years, managing various areas including Hotels & Restaurants/Pubs and managing events across Norfolk & Suffolk. My experience has enabled me to work within lots of different environments, but the basis has always been the same for me, and that is, if you have happy people, then you will have a happy and enjoyable environment, which is key to success. I am a big believer in hospitality being something that everyone should enjoy, whether you are an employee within Hospitality or a customer/resident. With my experience, this has enabled me to have a good understanding of all areas and departments, and this enables me to be able to make a difference in all areas and ensure that all departments can deliver a high level of service. I am passionate about what I do, and my main focus is on people. Talking to people and seeing them smile and be happy is what gives me satisfaction.
In my own time, my passion is my family, and nothing gives me greater enjoyment than spending time with my wife and son and the rest of my family and friends and creating memories and experiences together. Alongside that, I love to play tennis and run and go on walks in the countryside.
Starting my journey as a commis chef in the hospitality sector, I steadily rose through the ranks of the kitchen brigade, leading to my current role as the home's Head Chef. My keen interest in hydration and nutrition proves invaluable in maintaining residents' optimal health, leading me to actively participate in Kirkley Manor's nutritional forum.
Beyond my culinary expertise, I thrive on engaging with residents, fostering a sense of belonging with the meals served. My comfort in running the kitchen is matched only by my contentment in the care sector, relishing the homely atmosphere at Kirkley Manor.
Outside of work, my passion extends to being a dedicated season ticket holder for Ipswich Town, alongside my commitment to my family.
