The Social worker for my parents found them a place in Mabbs Hall. I am so happy that she did because my parents have settled in really well, they say the staff are extremely kind and caring and they feel totally safe and well looked after. The food is good and they are very content and calm. They both have dementia at varying stages and they are treated with kindness, respect and dignity. It is the best outcome possible for their care needs. The manager is wonderful, very approachable and a great communicator. She and her staff make a happy and efficient team. I've nothing negative today say about Mabbs Hall, my experience so far is 100% positive.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful feedback. We are delighted to hear how well your parents have settled at Mabbs Hall and that they feel safe, cared for and content. Your kind words about the team's kindness, respect and support, especially in relation to dementia care, mean a great deal...
Dad was at Mabbs Hall only a short while, but the management, nurses and staff were wonderful and very easy to speak to. Every question and worry was sorted out quickly. Would recommend this nursing home.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Even though your dad was with us for a short time, it means a great deal to know that our team helped him - and you - feel supported. We appreciate your recommendation.
The care my father received in his last week was second to none. I felt there was a great deal of kindness from all staff. In his final days I was allowed to be with him and get the most time I could with him. On the day he died I was called back and got to hold his hand before he died.
Thank you for sharing something so personal. It means a great deal to know that your father was treated with such compassion in his final week. The kindness you describe reflects the care we strive to give every family, and we're truly grateful that you were able to spend those precious final moments by his side. Being able to hold his hand as he passed is something no one can ever replace.
My mother is as settled as could be expected for someone with severe dementia. The staff work very hard, are welcoming, polite and respectful and strive to make a homely environment. The fabric of the building is slowly being updated with air conditioning and new doors.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Were glad to hear your mother feels as settled as possible and that youve noticed the dedication of our staff in creating a welcoming, respectful, and homely environment. We also appreciate your recognition of the ongoing improvements to the building updates like air conditioning and new doors are part of our commitment to comfort and care.
When my mother was initially admitted it was at the start of Covid I had no choice where she went. She was fully competent but deaf (2020 August) My initial reaction was despair (I wouldn't put a dog in there) I was not able to visit & could not communicate when we eventually visited, nothing changed that vibe. However, now new management & staff in place I have nothing but praise for team. Mum's health is declining but care is excellent. We can talk to any member of staff & they know what is going on. So much happier.
We are grateful, however, that you have seen the positive...
Mabbs Hall cared for our dad, Joe, who had severe dementia, and we cannot thank them enough for everything they did. From the management to the cleaners, every single member of staff showed incredible patience, kindness and understanding throughout his time there.
The atmosphere in the home is calm, supportive and compassionate and you can tell the team genuinely care about the residents. The nursing staff deserve a special mention for their professionalism and the dignity they showed Joe each day, even during the most challenging moments.
We also want to highlight the manager, who has clearly worked tirelessly to transform Mabbs Hall into the exceptional care home it is today. Her leadership and dedication are evident in the way the whole team carries themselves.
Thank you to everyone at Mabbs Hall for the outstanding care, respect and comfort you provided. You made an unimaginably difficult journey easier, and we are truly grateful
Thank you very much for this heartfelt review and for recognising the outstanding qualities of the team at Mabbs Hall. We are glad that we helped make the dementia journey for your Dad and yourselves a little easier to bare.
I visit my friend once a week. The staff are helpful, friendly, cheerful, and make every visit a pleasure. My friend is happy when I visit, and I feel content that she is being well cared for.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a great deal to know that your visits bring joy to your friend and that our team helps make those moments special. Were truly grateful for your trust and are committed to continuing to provide the care and warmth your friend deserves. Your feedback brightens our day!
It's got a friendly atmosphere and a lovely garden to sit in.....

What a difference a care home makes, i cannot believe how much of a change i have seen in my mother since moving here. She has now got a smile on her face whenever we visit, such a relief from seeing her in tears at her previous home. Everything about Mabbs Hall i recommend from management to all carers and staff. Thanks for all your hard work
Thank you so much for your lovely recommendation and we are very pleased to hear that your mother has settled in well.
She has been shown so much love and support from the staff that we feel she could not have found a better place to go before she dies.
Sadly that happened last evening and all the family have been shown so much love and support, we cannot fault them. The staff supported her sons and family throughout.
Thank you so much. Cannot fail to recommend them if you are looking for care.
Our condolences to you and your family, we are so happy your sister enjoyed her stay with us. Thank you for leaving such a lovely review.
With the chef leaving, there was a promotion within the kitchen and we now have a "chefette". I would like to say how much the food has improved. Previously, the food was very spicy and there was a lot of waste. Having eaten the food at both the Christmas party and Christmas Day dinner, I cannot praise the the new chef enough.
Thank you for these kind words and the recommendation of our revised kitchen team. I wholeheartedly agree, this change has vastly improved the residents' food provision, making it more aligned to their preferences and tastes, I will make sure I pass this review on to the team.
The manager has been very supportive with procedural matters and the ladies looked after my mother with genuine care.
Thank you for taking the time to review Mabbs Hall, especially considering your recent loss, please accept my condolences. I will make sure that the team are thanked.
My mother has recently moved in to Mabbs Hall as a permanent resident and I have found every single member of staff to be caring, helpful and happy. They are extremely informative and give excellent care to my mother. They have been very communicative whenever there has been a need and I would highly recommend this small home.

Thank you so much for these kind words, I will make sure that the team at Mabbs Hall are thanked.
My Mum entered Mabbs Hall under a 2-week respite as her dementia had deteriorated. She is now a permanent resident and as a family we could not be happier. Mabbs Hall is a friendly caring and approachable home. She is very well cared for and her needs are met to a high standard. The nursing team is excellent, always friendly, and shows my Mum lots of kindness. The management is excellent and I can see improvements weekly. The communication is excellent. Overall very happy, and so is my Mum!
Thank you so much for your review, we are so pleased your Mum has settled with us and is improving.

We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
- Outstanding - The service is performing exceptionally well.
- Good - The service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
- Requires Improvement - The service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
- Inadequate - The service is performing badly and we've taken action against the person or organisation that runs it.
- Not rated - we have not yet rated this area of the service, this is normally because the assessments we have carried out have been focused on other key questions.
Regarding the recent report published by CQC: We do not feel that this is a fair refection of Mabbs Hall, we challenged the factual accuracy of this report as we don’t believe the CQC has taken our comments into account properly, especially in evidencing the positive points of the inspection. We are however, working hard to improve Mabbs Hall and we shared our own improvement plan with the CQC at the time of the inspection. We are continuing to develop and enhance Mabbs Hall, for the benefit of all interested parties
