I cannot speak highly enough about the care and dedication provided at Orchid Care Home. All the staff go above and beyond in every aspect of care. They are not only highly attentive and skilled, they are also deeply compassionate, treating every resident with dignity, patience and kindness. Nothing
ever feels rushed or impersonal, every individual is truly seen and valued.
Communications with family is excellent and most importantly the residents happiness and wellbeing is clearly a top priority here. It's wonderful to find a home that combines a high standard of care with such genuine heart and enthusiasm. Residents and families are always welcomed and encouraged to join in with the daily activities, day trips out and events hosted by the home. These are well organised and planned to a very high standard. Thank you to all the staff for everything you do to make each day special.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this home to anyone looking for exceptional care for a loved one.

An exceptional, true five-star care home - my brother is thriving

My brother has been at Newlands Care Home for over six months, and his health improved from the very day he arrived. His quality of life has completely turned around in every aspect, and the home has a beautifully clean, warm, and comfortable

environment. He loves getting involved in the daily activities, especially the memory games, discussing music, and playing bingo.

They even hosted a fantastic BBQ today, and it was wonderful to see all the residents sitting outside enjoying the sunshine together. Every time I visit, the staff are so friendly, genuine, helpful, and incredibly welcoming to me. The team is always patient and immediately on hand to help whenever needed. Knowing he is looked after so well gives our family total peace of mind. This is absolutely a five-star care home.

Reply from Alex Keevans, PA to Operations Director at Newlands Care HomeIt means a great deal to our entire team to hear how well your brother is doing and how much his quality of life has improved since joining us at Newlands. Seeing residents thrive is exactly why we do what we do.

We're delighted that he enjoys the daily activities - the memory games, music discussions, and of course, bingo are always favourites. It's wonderful to know the BBQ brought everyone together in the sunshine; moments like that are so special for residents and families alike.

I am really impressed with Cavell Manor and I'm very grateful that they look after my mum so well. There is a very calm, caring and relaxed atmosphere which makes for an upbeat environment. The building and the rooms are bright, clean and welcoming. The residents have a café area in reception with tea
and cakes and there is a family feel of mixing together residents, staff and visitors which means it doesn't feel institutionalised which some homes can. The food is good and there are lots of activities and facilities laid on but there's a good balance of freedom and independence but with the right amount of encouragement to join in. The staff are so patient and try very hard to accommodate the different personalities of the residents and it is reassuring to have medical help always available. Credit is due to the whole team at Cavell Manor because they have provided not only the physical care and comforts for their residents but also a sense of a happy community which is much rarer.

Well what can I say it's been another year of being a part of the CherryTrees family. The carers go above and beyond to make sure the needs of my uncle are met in a timely respectful professional approach I never wanted my uncle, to reside in a care home as I always worried he'd feel his independence
was gone. This is not the case he's treated with the upmost respect by all staff members. Not only are the care needs of the residents met all visitors are taken care of to I often joke with staff I'm booking myself in for a few weeks. The Manager, and Senior Care Manager are always very vocal with family of residents ensuring we know if anything no matter how little or big is bothering us we must speak to them about it and appropriate action would be taken if needed. I'm a little sad 2 members of staff have left this year for new ventures but, we wish them well with their future/current employers. They are going to be so lucky to have them
Reply from Jorge Fernandes, Home Manager at Cherrytrees Care HomeThank you so much, Jonny, for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We're truly touched to hear that you continue to feel part of the CherryTrees family, and that your uncle's care and independence remain at the heart of what we do.It means the world to us that your initial worries about care homes have been eased, and that you've seen firsthand the respect, professionalism, and warmth our team provides every day. We're also delighted that you and other family members feel just as welcomed and cared for when you visit-your joke about booking in for a few weeks made us all smile!
We will be sure to pass on your lovely comments to our team, and the whole team. Your recognition of their dedication and open communication means a great deal.
While we're sad to say goodbye to the two team members who have moved on to new ventures, we're grateful for the positive impact they made during their time with us-and we'll join you in wishing them every success.

Amazing staff, nothing is too much for them, my mum has vascular dementia, is 85 yes old and has terrible mood swings amongst other behavioural problems
The staff keep me informed all the time, and if ever I'm lost as to what to do, their help is always well received,
They encourage me to be
part of the team, and treat me as though I'm part of their family
Lindsey has great knowledge of my mum's condition and is really helpful when I get frustrated and upset, there's always a smile on the all the staffs faces, and they all seem to have a warmth to the residents
To conclude, I know all the staff are brilliant at their jobs, and I'm absolutely sure my mum is in safe hands
Thanks to all there

Mum's health sadly declined late last year so my brother and I visited a few local care homes to gauge which might be most suitable for mums needs. We were immediately impressed by the skills and knowledge of the Management, nursing and support team at Orchid Care, and the warmth, friendliness and care
displayed by all. When deciding on a care home placement it should not just be based on the decor and facilities. Making both the resident and visiting family and friends feeling welcome and secure in a homely comfortable atmosphere is paramount and I'm pleased to say Orchid Care truly delivers in every department.

This placement was a complete failure of duty and safeguarding. Despite being fully informed of my partner's dementia and complex behaviours, the home was unprepared and unable to manage him for even 30 minutes without me present. He was then sent back to A&E with no carer, despite requiring 1:1 support,
and his belongings were hastily packed and sent with him.
The communication, preparation, and understanding of dementia care were non-existent. I cannot recommend this home for anyone with vulnerable or complex needs.
