Newlands are providing my Dad with first class care. When he arrived he was in a very poor state but now he is thriving. He is eating well and is much healthier.
He engages in conversations in the common room and enjoys the activities.

Great staff here, it's gives me peace of mind that he is being well looked after.

An exceptional, true five-star care home - my brother is thriving

My brother has been at Newlands Care Home for over six months, and his health improved from the very day he arrived. His quality of life has completely turned around in every aspect, and the home has a beautifully clean, warm, and comfortable environment. He loves getting involved in the daily activities, especially the memory games, discussing music, and playing bingo.

They even hosted a fantastic BBQ today, and it was wonderful to see all the residents sitting outside enjoying the sunshine together. Every time I visit, the staff are so friendly, genuine, helpful, and incredibly welcoming to me. The team is always patient and immediately on hand to help whenever needed. Knowing he is looked after so well gives our family total peace of mind. This is absolutely a five-star care home.

It means a great deal to our entire team to hear how well your brother is doing and how much his quality of life has improved since joining us at Newlands. Seeing residents thrive is exactly why we do what we do.

My brother recently became a resident with the Newlands.
I had my concerns at first as his last placement of 14years had to come to an end due to his needs changing.
I couldn't belive how quickly he settled within his new home.
The manager, care coordinator were so welcoming you us all. The staff ive had the pleasure of meeting were lovely.

I cant wait to see what's ahead.

Amazing staff, nothing is too much for them, my mum has vascular dementia, is 85 yes old and has terrible mood swings amongst other behavioural problems
The staff keep me informed all the time, and if ever I'm lost as to what to do, their help is always well received,
They encourage me to be part of the team, and treat me as though I'm part of their family
Lindsey has great knowledge of my mum's condition and is really helpful when I get frustrated and upset, there's always a smile on the all the staffs faces, and they all seem to have a warmth to the residents
To conclude, I know all the staff are brilliant at their jobs, and I'm absolutely sure my mum is in safe hands
Thanks to all there

Janet

I am writing this as the next of kin of a resident at Newlands Care Home, and I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding care provided.

The staff across all departments are truly excellent. They are not only highly professional but also kind, compassionate, and attentive in everything they do. It is very reassuring to see the level of care, dignity, and respect shown to my friend on a daily basis.

The team always takes the time to communicate with me and my family, keeping us informed and making us feel welcome whenever we visit. Their support and understanding mean a great deal to us.

I am genuinely grateful for the dedication and hard work of the entire team. I would highly recommend Newlands Care Home to anyone looking for a safe, caring, and supportive environment for their loved ones.

Review from Susan C (Partner of Resident) published on 5 May 2026 Submitted via Website

This placement was a complete failure of duty and safeguarding. Despite being fully informed of my partner's dementia and complex behaviours, the home was unprepared and unable to manage him for even 30 minutes without me present. He was then sent back to A&E with no carer, despite requiring 1:1 support, and his belongings were hastily packed and sent with him.

The communication, preparation, and understanding of dementia care were non-existent. I cannot recommend this home for anyone with vulnerable or complex needs.

Newlands care home is a superb caring home for my aunt who is in her late 90s. During a difficult period of illness the carers and nursing staff provided fantastic support. The home is so clean, the catering is delicious and served in a lovely restaurant. Daily games and exercise classes keep everyone entertained. I would highly recommend this home for anyone who wants their relative to receive kind and supportive attention and care.

My Late mother was cared for 27 days till she passes away with cancer. She was treated with the upmost care and love, with phenomenal dedicated management and staff. Every time we visited, we were greeted with a wonderful welcome and a smile, I could not of expected anything more than what was provided, including support for myself as well as my mother. Newlands is a place where I will always feel attached to, I have been back since on more than one occasion and I am made very welcome by all.

My mother in law was moved to Newlands in March 2024, due to a progressive condition that had left her unable to care for herself.

From the moment she arrived the level of care and support she has received has been great, and continues to be. As her condition progresses, staff have tailored her care needs accordingly and often had to change approaches to ensure she is getting what she needs, ans this has been done easily. They took into consideration her likes and dislikes and supported my mother-in-law and us as her wider family throughout. It can be an emotional and challenging time going into a care home but everyone at Newlands made us all feel so welcome that it made the process much easier. The kindness and compassion shown is exceptional and was shown in how quickly my mother in law settled in.

My mum was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness, necessitating constant care that our family is unable to provide. We decided on Newlands, where we were impressed by the staff's compassionate and considerate nature. During her time there, her physical and mental health have declined, and the team at Newlands has adjusted to these changing needs. From management, caregivers and support staff, everyone at Newlands has been exceptional, taking the initiative to engage my mother in conversation and building a rapport. As her son, this has been an incredibly challenging time; however, the staff has been consistently communicative, thoughtful, and caring. Living over 200 miles away makes it hard for us to visit too often. Still, the leadership team, including two specific members of staff, respond promptly to emails, addressing all my inquiries and updating me on my mother's condition and needs. Their kindness and generosity of spirit have truly made this difficult situation more bearable.

Newlands Care Home is a very friendly and homely place to live. I have witnessed the care given to my friend over the last two years and it has been excellent. The staff go above and beyond making sure everyone is looked after. I visit my friend regularly and she is always well-presented and happy, her room is always clean and clothes well laundered. The staff provide activities daily and include every resident. Christmas 2024 was celebrated with a party and New Year's Day was equally enjoyed by each resident, visitor and staff. Residents here are all treated the same regardless of their abilities and I know from experience that visitors are welcomed at any time. I am always notified of any changes in her condition and am encouraged to play a part in her wellbeing.

Regarding my mother's care and the other residents' is always first class. It's as if they can't do enough because of my mother's eating habits, she doesn't always eat what they serve but that's not the fault of the kitchen, she still eats enough. I have no problems with the service my mum gets.

We went to look around a few care homes, and then we came to see Newlands. We felt really anxious at first, but as soon as we walked in the home, we felt at ease the atmosphere was really warm and welcoming and the manager was lovely and friendly. We also met the activities co-ordinator who is also lovely and does a lot of activities with the residents. The food is really nice and you can even have lunch and sit with your loved ones. Our family is really happy with the care my Dad is receiving, and we feel happy to leave my Dad knowing he is getting looked after. The staff have been amazing with my Dad and he has settled in really well.

I feel confident that my relative is well cared for at Newlands in all respects. All the staff are caring, courteous and friendly and welcome visitors warmly. Staff at every level are supportive of resident's families. I sometimes think that communication of some issues within the home could be widely circulated to families. However, when I have a query or concern it is always addressed as quickly as possible, and feedback is given.
