Activities at Bamfield are designed to enhance the residents' well-being, encourage social interaction, and support them with their existing hobbies and interests. Activities are wide ranging and personalised to residents' needs.

Bamfield Lodge has a patio garden and an outdoor seating space, ideal for enjoying coffee or lunch. The home also features a hair salon, spacious en-suite bedrooms and lounges.

Mum has been there since August 2023, she settled in very well and made friends quickly. The staff is very good and if I have a question or query about Mum they are always helpful and reassuring. I am very happy with Mum there and the level of care given to her.

My father has had 2 weeks of respite care in your care home at Bamfield Lodge, it's wonderful like a 4-star hotel. Clean, fresh and a positive supportive atmosphere. The care staff are very professional, caring and attentive. I would recommend any family if in need of this kind of home full-time or
for repsite. My father was taken care of very well, he loved the food and all the staff.

I find the staff friendly and always willing to help with any concerns I have. Mum is happy most of the time but thinks the staff are sometimes too busy, and they need more help. Overall we are happy with the current support to come up the only thing that is of concern is that car parking is very limited,
and we find it difficult to park some days.

The care team always go above and beyond for my nan!
The kitchen team are always asking residents to help plan the meals and menus.
Activities put in lots of effort to make the activities person-centred.

Nice enough looking care home. The room facilities are very good. The garden could be better. Food is not the greatest. Some very lovely staff individually. However, the greatest problem here is that there is dreadful communication. Lots of different staff covering various shift patterns and the Manager
is always in a meeting, never seen her in 6 weeks of my Father being here. Yesterday my Father ordered his tea/supper. After 45 minutes of waiting, nothing arrived. They had forgotten him and he would have not eaten if we had not been there. Really is not the best value for money care home out there. I would not recommend it.

I immediately felt at ease when I dropped my husband off for respite care.
Spotlessly clean. Light and airy. Wonderful kind and friendly staff who listened to me.
Huge room with private shower room. Had TV and access to the garden
It was like a 5 star hotel
When I picked my husband up he said
he'd had a lovely week. Great food. Entertainment.
Not like any residential home I'd ever been in for sure!

I cannot fault the care and attention given to my brother in law when he was admitted into Barchester Bamfield Lodge Care Home in June 2022. He wouldn't walk, he didn't want to eat or drink - he was on end of life care. The carers really looked after him, spent time feeding him and getting him to drink.
They talked to him and gradually he became confident with them. I would recommend this nursing home to anyone, absolutely superb.

My mum has recently gone to Bamfield, I was nervous to put her in care but Bamfield has taken my nerves away, it is comfy and cosy with good staff who really care. I like her room and she has settled in nicely and made friends with the other ladies. I highly recommend it here. We watched the singers
together here yesterday and she loved singing along with fantastic entertainment.

My grandma could want for nothing being here, she is comfortable, looks tidy and the staff are always there. I like the food, it always looks nice and lots of activities she goes to like singers and days out. The home is clean and smells nice. The staff are really friendly and a good manager is there.

On initial encounter, I felt some issues needed addressing, as I witnessed some rather alarming aspects to Mother's care. After informing the management, it was quickly nipped in the bud. After this everything ran smoothly with exceptional care/work from four carers in particular (x2 night, x2 day).
I felt that my mum was treated with dignity and would like to thank the staff, especially 'the 4', for their assistance in Mum's final days. Thank you.

I have not seen my mother as happy as she is now. The staff are always there ready to assist and help her whenever she needs them. She really enjoys all the activities. As a family, the pressure has been lifted from us because we know she is being well cared for.

I cannot praise or recommend this home highly enough. Mum has been at the home for over 12 months and is happy and contented this is due to the facilities, all the staff and the activities provided which mum so enjoys. The staff are excellent, polite, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them
and mum herself sings their praises.
As a family, we are so happy that Mum is being so well cared for at this home.

The staff and especially the nursing staff are excellent. They are caring and extremely compassionate. The father recently passed and the care he received was excellent. We were informed of any changes they always answered our questions. The compassion they showed was outstanding. There is nothing negative
about Bamfield Lodge I would strongly recommend it, it is high class.
My mother is also a resident there and the staff have been so caring towards her. They are all so calm, the way they talk to her is with the utmost dignity. They are caring towards family members and nothing is too much trouble. I know my mum is having the best care.

As the General Manager I am responsible for the overall running of Bamfield Lodge and assisted in this by a great team of staff. It is hugely rewarding to be able to support our residents and help them to lead fully enriched lives in their new homes.

I practice the whole home approach and like to help out other departments. You will often see me talking to the residents and found they are able to approach me with any concerns they have.
