St Georges is a modern, purpose-built nursing home in Bristol. Located in a quiet residential area three miles from the city centre, St Georges provides specialist nursing care for up to 67 people, offering trial stays, short stays, long-term care and convalescent care for individuals or couples.

Single and double ensuite rooms are available at St Georges Care Centre and all rooms are thermostatically heated and equipped with TV points and a private telephone line if required. Rooms are individually decorated and personalised, with residents encouraged to bring their own belongings to feel at home and part of familiar surroundings.

Great importance is given to dining and a dedicated chef carefully plans and prepares all meals to ensure that they are high in nutritional value, are attractively presented and meet residents’ dietary requirements. Residents are welcome to invite friends and family members to join them at meal times.

St George's benefits from a dedicated activities co-ordinator who plans a wide range of hobbies, events and activities that can be enjoyed by everyone. Events and activities are based on residents' likes, dislikes and feedback to ensure they are inclusive and remain varied.

When Mum was at St Georges, she felt happy and contented. All staff were very loving and careful towards her. Although she lost her voice, the carers took time to listen to her whispering, which made her feel she was not isolated. Mum was never one to "participate" in many activities, but due to the
kind and gentle ways of the staff, she admitted that she had enjoyed the many activities on offer. So, I would like to thank everyone at St Georges and wish the home every success in the future.

Moving Mother to St Georges Care Home was the best decision my family made. She lived happily there for 18 years, surrounded by staff (cleaners, laundry, admin and nursing) who made time to chat. She loved hearing stories about their families. Friends and family were also welcome; her sister was always
made a fuss of. The reception staff were helpful, being willing to pass on messages to my mother when we telephoned. When we visited, the staff were cheerful, describing my mother's antics and characteristics in a moving way. A special thanks to the cook for adjusting the texture of the food and persuading her to eat more, and her key workers are the year for their patience.

Very welcoming nursing home. Staff are very good with residents. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is very homely. Staff always popping in and out, keeping an eye on residents. A lot of staff have worked here for many years, indicating a happy workforce. The home is kept very well and clean.

My parents have been at St Georges for nearly two years after increased frailty and the fact that one is deaf and the other blind forced them to give up their independent living. A difficult transition was made significantly easier by the friendliness and caring nature of the staff. We have been kept
fully updated on their health and well being, and the arrangement of carefully managed visits during the pandemic has been of real benefit to my parents and myself.

My mother was a resident in this home for the last 8 years of her life before sadly passing away in March 2020. In all the years she has been there we have seen many changes, some good and as you would imagine, some bad. However, throughout her time in the home, she has been largely treated with respect
and, from many of the carers, love.
Whilst I understand that I cannot name carers here, those who interacted with Mum in these latter years know who you are and I would like to thank you for your care. Overall I think Mum was very happy here, and, given the length of time we visited, we were also treated well and visits were always a pleasure. Where we had issues (which there will always be), these were dealt with promptly and efficiently. When this silly period is over we will visit to thank you all in person but in the meantime, please all stay safe.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the staff involved in the palliative care of my life long friend. He was treated with the utmost dignity and respect in the most kind and compassionate way imaginable. From a visitors point of view, I was made to feel so welcome, no

From the minute we arrived at St Georges the staff were there to help get my aunt and all her things to her room in her new home. Many came and introduced themselves while we were there and we left feeling that we had made the correct choice. Every time I visited I felt very welcome, was told what had
been going on and always ended up with a cup of tea! Well done and thank you.

This home is currently under the process of being re-decorated. As a result, this makes for a better environment for the staff to work in and more pleasant for visitors. The resident's rooms are not affected by this make-over so any disruption seems minimal. The staff are always helpful despite working
long shifts. There has been a general improvement at this home over the last year. Residents are encouraged to take part in daily activities organised for them.

My mother has been a resident for 2 years and in that time I have found the care and attention to her needs very good. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is excellent and offers a wide choice. My mum enjoys the food very much. They have entertainment each week, which you can join in with
if you wish. The carers and staff all work extremely hard to make the residents feel safe and at home. I find it to be a happy home.

Extremely welcoming and friendly. Staff are very friendly and polite, activity staff provide excellent entertainment and new ideas to keep residents occupied. Kitchen staff are always willing to try various menus and food ideas. Rooms are kept clean and tidy, although could do with being freshened up
with a coat of paint and new flooring. The home is decorated beautifully at special times, i.e Christmas, Queen's celebrations, Easter. All staff work very hard, given that they are frequently unstaffed. Overall very pleasant.

People at the care home were very helpful and very caring. The food is excellent, mother loved her stay there and didn't want to come home. There were things for mum to do and always something for all residents to do. I would recommend this place to anyone. Friendly, helpful, clean, good food and I

Although things have improved there is still a long way to go. Shortage of care staff seems to be a major issue with a large turnover. Saying we comply with government guidelines is not enough. Also, foreign speaking staff can be very difficult for the elderly to understand, leading to misunderstandings.
Another problem is the call bell is out of reach, left on the bed or floor. The staff having to rush off to another room. I could go on! On the plus side, most of the staff are excellent and do their utmost to please, some, however, are in the wrong job. Overall I think the manager has stabilized things and hopefully on the right track.

Following a stroke in 2014 my mother (90) has been a resident of St Georges Care centre. She requires 24-hour nursing care due to her disabilities. The care provided is mostly very good with a mention to the kitchen and activity staff who seem to go above and beyond their normal duties. Although CQC
audits haven't been fantastic in recent times there has been a marked improvement over the last 18 months. Better activities, re-decoration and improved care staff training and qualified RGN's. There is now more stability in the management structure following a period of high turnover. My mother is receiving a very good standard of care in a safe and secure environment.

My mum has had poor health for over three years due to several illnesses. I took voluntary redundancy to become my mum's carer. After a diagnosis of incurable lung cancer, mum made the decision to go into residential care. St Georges was recommended by a friend. The care that mum receives, staff, food
etc is absolutely brilliant. My brother and I couldn't be more pleased.

We have had an excellent experience at St George Care Centre in St. George, Bristol. My mother has been treated with the utmost kindness, cheerfulness, patience and love. I have been informed immediately of any events and experienced much kindness and compassion from all the staff. Would not hesitate

We have found St George's to be very good indeed. The staff generally are very caring and kind. We had initial concerns over noise from other patients and nan saying no one bothered with her but they soon all settled down. The staff work extremely hard and always have a minute to talk to nan. She now
responds to them much better. We have sometimes had concern that she doesn't have all her medication but that may be nan refusing.
