Meadowcare Home works hard to ensure residents and their families are fully involved with the process of moving into care. The compassionate staff understand making the decision to move into a home is a difficult one and ensure the individual needs of each resident are always met.

An individual care plan is created to help get to know the resident and details of their life history. The home provides specialist Alzheimer’s care and care for those with behaviour that can challenge.

Overall Experience

My sister became a Meadowcare resident at very short notice. She was immediately made to feel welcome and loved. When she arrived she had various health problems, could barely walk and was almost non-verbal. In a few months her health has improved and her mobility and speech are very much better. She receives nothing but kindness, love and respect from the staff and I have the freedom to visit whenever I want to

My dad moved into Meadowcare home earlier this year suffering from advanced cancer and also dementia that could make him quite agitated and challenging. The team at Meadowcare made him (and myself and my husband) welcome from the start and showed him nothing but kindness and respect and they were clearly expert in the type of care that he needed. The home seems very well managed and I had an early care review meeting with the manager who was able to talk to me in detail about all aspects of my dad's care. She and her team were always very responsive to emails and phone calls and we always felt welcome when we visited. All the staff, from reception to nursing, care and activities staff, got to know us very quickly. They all do a really hard job but with enthusiasm, professionalism and energy. My dad sadly died in June and, again, everyone in the home was so kind and made it as easy as possible for me. I would certainly recommend Meadowcare as a caring and professional home.

I cannot thank Francis and the amazing Meadow Care Home team enough. From the first time I viewed the home to clearing my uncle's room after his death, they have been incredible. Kind, compassionate, caring and doing everything they promised to do. The home is clean and very nice. All the staff I encountered were smiley, engaging and above all looked after my uncle in a way that I could have not have been more impressed by. It is a very hard job and the team at Meadow Care are the Gold Standard.

Thank you!

Having a loved one suffering with dementia so that they can no longer live outside a care home is difficult, and finding a home where you feel they are cared for and supported take the sadness away a little. We, my bothers and I feel we have found that and more at Meadowcare. This is the second home that my father has stayed in, and the most important thing that stands out at Meadowcare is the staff, they know dad well and treat him with respect, kindness and understanding. Often when visiting I am told about something he has said or done, or just how he's been since my previous visit. He's not a great one for activities, but is included when he can be persuaded. Meadowcare have designated activity staff who work with a group of individuals on a one to one. I don't worry about him getting washed, or dressed, hygiene, or tidiness of his room because everything is always as you hope whenever I visit, and I rarely visit the same days each week. The staff welcome and are interested our whole family, and when my elderly mother visits she is cared for too.

My sister has been a resident at Meadowcare for nearly 4 years, and in all that time we (her son, her other sister and myself) have been more than satisfied with every aspect of the care provided. Meadowcare is a home we would recommend to anyone seeking excellent care for a loved one.

An excellent experience - now entering its forth year. As Meadowcare only has residents with various stages of Dementia and Alzheimer's, this appears to have created a centre of excellent where all the staff have a good understanding of the 'up and down' nature of the illness. The care provided to my mother by the nurses is outstanding and the management very approachable. First class!

So lucky to find Meadowcare Home for my dear wife. Meadowcare felt like a home and not institution. Diane's room sunny/bright with a suite facility, house always warm and clean and what a lovely caring staff. My wife nicely dressed each day for her day in the social room. Two wonderful social and entertainer ladies who constantly endeavor to stimulate and exercise residents. Management always very friendly and I was always made to feel at home 10/10

My mother has resided in this care home for a number of years.
She is well cared for by all her attend her needs.
She is up and dressed and in the community room each and every time I've visited.
She is made to join in activities such as bingo, painting, colouring in etc.
She enjoys these and the constant parties that are organised.

I feel she is safe and secure and well looked after, which is a great relief to us all.

My mum was given the utmost professional care during the end-of-life care at this wonderful nursing home. From the moment I arrived on my initial visit, I was made to feel so welcome and this view was sustained by the actual experience. Warm, attentive, diligent staff. Inspiring activities, comfortable communal areas and bedrooms. I highly recommend Meadowcare as a place where care is not just a word.

I had a good experience as my Mum was either in her room or in the downstairs room. The staff were very helpful in helping obtain a health declaration I needed.

One minor issue is that you can be stuck inside or outside the front door, waiting to be buzzed in or out. The bigger issue seems to be delays getting out.

Reply from Francis Castillo, Home Manager at Meadowcare Home

Thank you for leaving us feedback. We do give the exit code to our visitors but not the entry code due to safety and security reasons. We apologise for the delays. We hope to give you this information and alternative ways to call on staff for assistance on your next visit.

Everyone you meet at the home is very friendly and happy to see you, which is nice. I always feel welcome when I visit my relative. Throughout the year the staff at the care home have done an excellent job caring for mother, who can be a handful at times. That's a lot to do where being in charge and not liking people telling her what to do. She has lost the power in her legs and can't get around, it's a real downer. Mum's always been capable being a here, there, everywhere person. It's a real bane for her to comprehend.

We placed our mum with Meadowcare from October 2023 to May 2024 when she passed away. Throughout the process, the Meadowcare team were excellent at what they did, kept us fully informed about her health and happiness and cared for her brilliantly. At the end, the staff were enormously sensitive and left us to experience Mum’s final moments. She had a peaceful and beautiful passing as a result.

We would highly recommend Meadowcare to others. Thank you Meadowcare for everything.

Hi, my mum received excellent care at the Meadowcare Home. She has come to think of the girls as part of the family and has offered them to come home with her. The atmosphere was upbeat and all around a genuinely pleasant place for her to reside while things were in motion to get her home. The carers would go above and beyond in the care they took to look after her.
