Truly wonderful place. The staff treat residents like family, they also give us the support we need.Dianne L(Daughter of Resident/Service User)

Meadowcare Home works hard to ensure residents and their families are fully involved with the process of moving into care. The compassionate staff understand making the decision to move into a home is a difficult one and ensure the individual needs of each resident are always met.

An individual care plan is created to help get to know the resident and details of their life history. The home provides specialist Alzheimer’s care and care for those with behaviour that can challenge.

Meadowcare are brilliant!
My grandad was always looked after, he was always clean, happy and I don’t have a bad word to say!
The staff are friendly and caring. Thanks for everything you have done for my grandad, my family appreciate it all. In the last years of my grandad's life, we as a family felt my grandad was in safe hands. If something was up, my family were always kept updated and informed. We had regular photo updates and could see how relaxed and comfortable he really was.

There were lots of activities that my grandad participated in, which he enjoyed and he always had a smile on his face.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. It is our pleasure looking after your grandad. We always aim to bring smiles and loads of positivity to our beloved residents and to the people around us.

I would like to thank all the staff at Meadowcare Home for everything they have done to provide excellent care for my beloved father for 18 months. We were always made very welcome, tea and coffee on every visit. Excellent activities, friendly, helpful, and everyone always had a smile. I would definitely recommend this dementia care home as one of the best in Bristol. Thank you Meadowcare Home.

Not sure if teeth cleaning is a priority, I know staff are very busy but dental hygiene is said to be important for general health.
Could residents be encouraged to go to the toilet as opposed to waiting for them to ask?

Everyone I have met at Meadowcare has been outstanding, always cheerful, alert, helpful and kind, both to residents and visitors.

We are always welcomed with open arms, very pleased to how this person is being looked after with care and passion, we enjoy visiting. The only problem is the parking as we have a disabled car so it is a big problem on that road.

Reply from Francis Castillo, Clinical Lead at Meadowcare Home

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We always aim to deliver quality care to our beloved residents. I am sorry to hear about the parking problem. We do have an allocated disabled parking space in front of the care home, however, we cannot always guarantee its availability.

Mum was welcomed to Meadowcare Home in mid-August. She was welcomed with open arms into a very warm, homely atmosphere. Though she was only there for a short time and was well cared for by a diligent and professional staff who communicated with us well.

When your mum's GP describes the care home staff as very hardworking and very caring, you know you have found the right place for her. Meadowcare treats its residents and visitors as a family and is friendly and welcoming. There are lots of fun activities for the residents. Visitors are also encouraged to join in too, which is great. There are celebrations of seasonal events throughout the year. My mum enjoyed her 93rd birthday with a delicious chocolate cake made especially for her and the staff all sang Happy Birthday to her. Photos of the many happy moments are displayed in the lounge and on the regular newsletter. The staff are also quick and calm to act in times of crisis, treating people with respect and care. Meadowcare is fairly small, with only 34 residents. So, the staff get to know them and their visitors well, which is lovely.

Whilst walking through this stunning home, that is set out with the residents in mind the staff are all friendly and approachable. I have visited this home on more than one occasion and every time I am blown away by the commitment and level of care that the staff provide to the residents. There is always a warm welcome at the front of the home and the manager is friendly and easy to speak with and shows great pride and support for all her staff. Staff have shown good communication skills not only amongst each other but also with the residents, making sure that they are actively listening to the residents and respecting their wishes and preferences. They show a high level of person-centred values offering choices and making sure they work in a way that is best for the resident and how the resident wants. The staff are caring, compassionate, competent and committed to a high standard of care. Each and every resident's dignity is upheld to the highest of standards.

My Mum was taken into Meadowcare at the end of January as she entered the final weeks of her life. I cannot speak highly enough of the care she received. She was treated with respect, compassion and always in a dignified way. I felt she was safe there and always being so well looked after. This was made possible by the staff - from the manager to the receptionist and all the care staff. Thank you for looking after my Mum in her last few days.

My father moved into this care home in August 2022 after experiencing many moves during his hospital stay. My father was initially confused and agitated due to him being moved around constantly. The staff at Meadowcare Home were excellent during the process of settling him into his new environment. My father soon settled and was lucky enough to participate in the activities within the home. Unfortunately, my has declined due to his dementia but he still receives excellent care. So pleased we found this home for him! Thank you.

Staff are very caring and polite. My father is very happy and cared for. He has put on weight and is always singing and taking part in activities. Asked if I could see my father's room, and without hesitation, I was shown his room (due to Covid, it was the first time we were able to).
Very well-run home and all residents seem happy.
Good communication between staff and family.

Would highly recommend it to anyone.

All the nurses and carers are fantastic. Mum passed away on 13th July 2022. They made her last 6 years extremely comfortable and cared for her very well, showing extreme kindness, even though Mum had dementia and could be very cantankerous. Cannot speak highly enough and I would recommend anyone to them. Fantastic care home.

A warm welcome on arrival. Staff very friendly and accommodating. My wife was happy at being there for her respite. On leaving the manager said to come again, which we probably will later this year.

One negative point, all clothes were labelled, yet still clothes missing on departure and wrong clothes in suitcase.

Unfortunately, my husband suffered a stroke in January 2021, was in hospital for 2 weeks and in rehabilitation for 6 weeks and sadly, he made no improvement. Thankfully Meadowcare had a vacancy. It is a very caring, happy home. The staff treat him with dignity and do all in their power to make him feel happy and as safe as possible. When I visit, I am welcomed with a cup of coffee and made to feel Meadowcare is a big family. I can be at home knowing my husband is being looked after by all the staff. Registered nurses and carers, cleaners, laundry ladies, chefs, activities ladies, receptionists and management a big thank you to you all. Anyone needing a care home for their loved one please go to Meadowcare. You won't be disappointed.
