My father became a resident in February 2018. The home dispels all of the myths about nursing/care homes. All of the staff are very friendly and caring. The home has a policy of not using bank staff so my father and myself soon got to know the staff and they go to know him and me. This continuity has
given me great confidence that the home cares. I am kept regularly informed and any queries I have are taken seriously. The activities, including regular trips out, are excellent. In conclusion from my visits, I feel that the home and staff treat my father with dignity and treat him as a human being.

I chose Clevedon Court for my mother when I could no longer look after her because of the excellent care they provided to my brother earlier this year. The staff are friendly and genuinely care; not leaving the residents in an unkempt state. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The rooms are on the
small side but are well-equipped with en-suite wet rooms, armchair, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside stand and wide screen televisions.

The home is well kept but for me it's the staff that make Clevedon Court special.

My Mum was admitted to Clevedon Court from Southmead Hospital on 12/09/2017. When she was admitted she was in a very poorly condition. I cannot praise the staff and everyone concerned there enough. They are a wonderful bunch.
She recently celebrated her 80th birthday whilst there. The staff organised
a room for her for friends and family to have a party for her. They blew balloons up, set up a table for her, helped arrange four bouquets of flowers for her, helped decorate my mum's room and did everything possible to make her day a joyous occasion.
The food is lovely. I cannot recommend Clevedon Court highly enough. Our family are extremely grateful for my mothers care.

We are delighted with the care given to my mother-in law. The staff are very attentive. The food is excellent. The medical care is very attentive and they are very pro-active to any infections. The entertainment is excellent. The facilities and room are excellent. We have no complaints at all.

The resident arrived in the home at the end of March she settled in very quickly and said everyone looked after her well and the food was very good. I did have to remind the staff to put in her hearing aids and her teeth a couple of times but they now remember. The staff are all very caring and attend
to each resident's individual needs. The entertainment I have seen is very good at including all the residents who can attend the lounge. With the enthusiasm of the staff, they are always able to get the best out of each resident and help them to enjoy it. No needs are too difficult for the staff to cope with individually and with great care.

Every time we visit, we are made very welcome. Standard of cleanliness is high and staff are always interacting with residents.
When we visited today, there were games being played to improve co-ordination, recent history being shown on the television, tea and coffee being brought round. One resident
having her nails done and that was only in one hour! A very caring place, and the best one I've every visited (and I've been to a few). This standard of care is always present. Well done to all.

Overall care is very good but I did notice a drop in standards when the hospital patients arrived but this was soon rectified. This was understandable as the staff are rushed off their feet. My wife seems very happy and safe in her 'second home'.

My wife has been a resident of the Clevedon Court Nursing Home since 2014, suffering an advanced state of dementia, and is unable to participate in any form of activity; oral, written or physical. I know with experience of nearly 60 years of marriage just how well she reacts to the consistently good
care and attention she receives. Although she displays little emotion to witnessing entertainment activities provided by the home, my personal knowledge of my wife indicates that it does entertain her and relieves the symptoms of her dreadful disease. I think she is happy as is possible.

My brother has been a resident at Clevedon Court Nursing Home since October 2016.
He has received excellent care, the staff are very helpful and caring. I would recommend the nursing home above any others in the locality. Owing to his disability he has required alternate changing of his position in
bed. This happens without fail 24 hours. He needs assistance in feeding, this is achieved with humour and patience. I am delighted I had found this delightful residence for the remainder of my dearest brother's life.

Since my wife came to the nursing home on 7th May, she has been looked after with professional care, welcoming kindness, friendliness and compassion. Prior to this, I had been a full-time carer and the relief I experienced was wonderful knowing that I was able to leave my wife in such great hands.
The
home is spotlessly clean, the staff have time to help my wife and they fed her to try and get her to eat more. The nursing care is excellent and all the staff are caring. My wife has settled in and she seems relaxed and reliant on the staff. I cannot speak highly of them all from the Matron down. They always have time or are able to make time to discuss anything with me.

My wife had care for a week as her GP was trying to find our what was causing her returning infections. With daily visits from district nurses and blood tests, they appear to be succeeding. My wife was happy at Clevedon Court and so was I as I could have lunch with her. We could not comment on activities
or value for money as the cost was covered by care in the community and and my wife had only a short stay.

This care home has treated my father and I with dignity and respect. The activities and food are both excellent but I am disappointed that they are not taken out any more. I felt that was an important part of their lives, also maintenance in rooms can be a little behind, but staff are very caring. Also
building works have been carried out with no notifications to families and has been inconvenient at times.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.411)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.411) out of 10 for Clevedon Court Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.411 for Clevedon Court Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (27 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 56 Ratings = 4.411
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Clevedon Court Nursing Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.5
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
