Staff and Manager are always very helpful! Always very happy to answer any concerns I may have about the health of my friend. Since she has been at Oak Tree, her life has changed for the better! She is now with the care and support of the staff, a very happy lady. Thank you to all! Excellent provider of care.

The unit manager and her team on Snowdrop have been amazing.

My mother has now had 1 year in Snowdrop and whilst I realise things have been very difficult with Covid and a takeover, it has continued as I would expect.

Mum has been looked after beautifully by all the staff since arriving at Oak Tree in February 2020. She seems very popular with the staff, who remarks on her good sense of humour.
I appreciate being kept informed at all times. Staff always have time for me, as well as mum.

Thank you for all you do.

Dad and I are confident that over the last year, Mum has been cared for by professional, kind and patient staff. We have full confidence in their gentle treatment of Mum and we can not fault them.
We have not visited Mum in her room for a few months since 'lockdown' but when visits did recommence these took place in a side garden which was the best compromise that could be arranged.
Mum still describes the food as "So-so".
From the outside, the garden and borders appear neglected which indicates that all financial resources are spent on residents' care.

During 'Lockdown' Dad was notified by letter from new management that fees would be increased very shortly by several hundred pounds a year which we both felt very disappointed and shocked about. Like thousands of families in the UK, Care Home fees are heartbreaking at an already emotionally stressful time.

Reply from Noleen Dermondy, Home Manager at Oaktree

I am so pleased we had a conversation today to address the concerns you raised in your review. We are so pleased to have now recruited a second chef now offering an array of choice. We do hope to neaten and brighten up our gardens very soon.

My father had lived at this home for two and a half years before he passed away recently.
The staff on Primrose who looked after him provided exceptional care and often went above and beyond to not only meet his needs but ours too.
We were welcomed into the home and made to feel part of the family. From the moment we walked in, nothing was too much trouble.
Dad made some very close relationships with the staff, who truly cared for him and about him. We had no reservations as a family leaving him in their care.
This home has given dad a kind, caring, compassionate and professional experience of what care should look like, right up to his passing.
Our family continued to be supported even after he passed away.
I would have no hesitations in recommending the staff working on Primrose to anyone who is looking for exceptional care.

Thank you.

Oak Tree Care Home was recommended to me by 2 friends who had previously had relatives in the home, both spoke very highly of the care provided. My mother has now been at Oak Tree Care Home for the last 1 1/2 years and during this time I have found the care and attention provided to be excellent and most importantly she seems happy and contented.

My husband was here for the last year of his life. I have been constantly impressed with the standard of care in the dementia nursing unit. He was treated with dignity, great skill, and lots of love and care by the staff. He responded well to fun and teasing, and the staff were quick to pick up on that. There were little touches, like them moving photos we had stuck on the wall to be in his line of sight so that he could enjoy them. They were patient with him, kept him safe, and adapted to his ever-changing needs, I enjoyed visiting and still feel very fond of what very much became his home.

My mum has been in the Oak Tree Care Home for a year now and needs 24-hour care.
Since the day she arrived, they have been superb. The staff are so friendly not just to the residents but relatives as well, nothing is too much trouble. The home is always kept clean and always have a good atmosphere.

The food in there is always superb quality and served very professionally. I come over most weekends from Belgium to see my mum and when I go home, I leave knowing she is in great hands.

Review from Geoff S (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 21 November 2018 Submitted via Website

My wife and I had the need to find a care home for her mum following a series of falls and a short period in hospital. The staff at South Gloucestershire Council were very good in helping us with this not so nice task. We were offered various homes to look at but we choose Oak Tree as our first option due to it being a short walk from our home.

When we agreed to proceed with Oak Tree we visited to select a room for Mum and the young lady showed us the various options and explained how things work.

We were dreading Mum arriving as we were concerned that her view on the matter wouldn't be very good, bearing in mind that at this stage Mum was very poorly and fragile.

How wrong could we have been? The staff welcoming party was really nice and we couldn't have asked for more. Since Mum's arrival and throughout the duration of her stay ALL staff were exceptionally kind and caring. Mum loved every minute of her stay.

Thank you. Wish I could say more.

My brother is very happy here in Oak Tree Care Home. The food is very good and he is well looked after. They attend to his every need. He enjoys going to the dining room where he is encouraged to communicate with other residents.

I find the staff very approachable as well as polite and caring. I would recommend this care home.

I’ve been part of the home since 2016 and have made it my mission to keep a close eye on everything (usually from a sunny spot or a nearby chair!). My favourite things about living here are all the lovely food I’m given and the many warm, comfortable laps I get to curl up on throughout the day.

I like to think I brighten everyone’s day by offering plenty of cuddles, gentle purrs, and the occasional visit when someone needs a little extra company. Whether I’m sitting beside a resident or quietly supervising the daily activities, I always try to bring a bit of calm and happiness to the home. While I haven’t completed any formal training, I’m naturally very talented at providing comfort, companionship, and excellent cuddle support.
