Review from Jane C (Wife of Resident) published on 15 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My husband who has Parkinsons disease has had 2 lots of respite care at The Heathers. The first for two weeks and the second for four weeks. He was exceptionally well looked after. Staff were warm friendly, enthusiastic and took time to attend to all his needs. I felt confident that he was in good hands and he particularly enjoyed the activities especially the personal trainer who came in weekly to offer group sessions. Knowing he was well looked after I was able to relax and recuperate. My husband has said he would be happy to return.

Care, consideration and compassion shown by all staff members to my father whilst staying at The Heathers Nursing Home was second to none.
I had complete confidence that they all had his best wishes in mind whilst he was a resident and as he neared the end of his life.

I can't thank them enough for all the support and care they showed my father and family.

So pleased we found mum a place in such a caring home. All of the staff are very welcoming and they go out of their way to make everyone feel at home (including visitors). The standard of cleaning and catering is also first class. The last word must go to my mum who commented to us recently, without prompting: "I'm happy here and the carers are lovely."

I just wish to congratulate all the staff for a wonderful Christmas Day. This was the best Christmas Day I have had with my mother. Our relationship has always been strained but since she has been living at The Heathers it has improved greatly. This has been due to the outstanding care she receives from all staff whether it's carers or ancillary staff. The managers should be very proud of the home and all their commitment to making it a home from home.

Review from Carol G (Partner of Resident) published on 7 November 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My partner was with you from January 22nd 2025 until his very sad death on 19th August 2025. I was very happy with his care whilst with you. He was treated with courtesy and respect and treated as an individual. Sadly he was not very responsive by the time he came to you but enjoyed trips out and interaction when he was able to. Activities were varied and endlessly cheerful! End of life care despite happening shockingly quickly was respectful and efficient. My family was well looked after during the days we sat with him until he died especially the night staff on duty that week. Despite my never wanting to take my partner away from home it proved to be the safest and least traumatic move of his last year. I wish he had come to you earlier and not been in less conducive accommodation for four months before but that was not in my control sadly. Thank you for your care and consideration for all of us.

Review from Kate M (Friend of Resident) published on 4 November 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My elderly friend was struggling with her mobility and whilst she thought she could do things for herself, it was obvious that she needed looking after and a bit more support. Aneesh came to visit her and it was agreed that she could move into The Heathers within a couple of days. Whilst my friend could be a little difficult and was in a very low mood, she soon realised the wonderful staff were so kind in looking after her and she definitely became more interested in life going on around her. She was able to choose from the menu what she wanted on a daily basis and the food always looked very tasty. She didn't complain about any of it!

During my visits I observed the staff were very professional and supportive and the home had a nice relaxed feel about it when I went for a daily visit. Whilst my friend spent only a couple of months there before she passed away, I knew she was safe and very well looked after 24 hours a day. I would certainly recommend The Heathers to others.

I can't speak highly enough of this care home. The staff are kind, caring, and treat all residents with genuine respect and compassion. The food is always very good, with a great choice available at every meal. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, and the whole home is always spotlessly clean. The activities team are excellent, keeping residents busy and engaged with a wide variety of activities each week - from crafts and games to "Mind Song," bingo, and gentle keep fit sessions. There's always something for everyone to enjoy. Management are friendly, approachable, and always available to support families, which makes what can be a very difficult time much easier. They also treat my dad, who visits my mum daily, with warmth and respect, welcoming him to activities and making him feel included. This kindness has really helped him cope with Mum not being at home. We're so grateful to everyone at the home for the care, respect, and compassion they show every day.

I visited several homes before deciding on The Heathers for my father. It has a warm, homely feel the the place and all the staff are lovely. Communication between the home and myself is excellent so I always know what is happening with medication and generally wellbeing. The food is also excellent!

My father has lived at The Heathers for over a year now and during that time the standard of the care that he has received has been nothing less than outstanding. He is not the easiest of people, but he has been treated with tolerance, compassion and understanding the whole time. The staff have been at pains to accommodate his particular needs and always do so with humour and kindness. He loves the food and always looks spruce and well cared for. From the comments that he makes I often see signs of the staff going 'the extra mile'. The atmosphere in the home is warm and welcoming and the communication with the family is excellent. I bless the day I met the manager and made enquiries about a placement for dad and I couldn't thank the staff enough, all of them, for their excellent care.

We are so pleased that The Heather's had space firstly for our dad, and then two months later and at very short notice for our mum. It is so good to see them in a safe friendly and homely atmosphere. They are well cared for and the meals look excellent. We always feel comfortable visiting.

My Mum was a resident at The Heathers for just a couple of months before she passed away. But the care she received in that time was excellent. The staff were so kind, from the manager and the nursing staff to all the support staff. Mum was looked after so well, I don't believe her care could have been better. I will always appreciate the support the team at The Heathers gave us at a difficult time, and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Mum was in from 1st December 2023 till her passing on 1st July. I had trouble finding her a care home as she had quite challenging behaviour. I viewed lots of Homes in the Yate and where I live in Worthing and was surprised at the state of some of them. I found The Heathers was clean and homely. The staff were amazing... so patient and always kept me informed of Mum's condition. I have been able to speak to the office staff and nurse with any concerns. I was always welcomed by name when I arrived and if lucky even got a cuppa. The food was very good and they would always make something different if the residents wanted it. Tea and coffee was always given regularly and if asked for, good for Mum as she loved her tea. I have no qualms about recommending this home.Thank you for looking after my mum so well.

My husband recently spent two weeks at The Heathers as his first experience of respite care. The staff were so kind and caring and I feel that they all worked well together, as a team, to deliver the best care for him. They were very approachable and always keen to discuss his well-being with his family at any time. They walked him and made sure that he was able to join in activities and not be left alone. The staff made a big effort to incorporate his favourite foods and his likes whenever possible. He has come back to me in good shape. I would highly recommend the care that he received at The Heathers.
