Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We're glad he enjoyed his stay with us and we'd all like to wish you the very best of times in your lovely new home.
My mother has been at Eshcol House for over a year and we are delighted with the care she has received. The staff are professional, kind and helpful. They treat my mum with dignity and empathy. Mum enjoys the food and her room with a view. I know my mum is in safe hands. She is very happy at Eshcol House. It is like a home from home.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this very kind review which I have shared with the team. It's lovely that your mum has so many local visitors coming in to see her which is one of the advantages of us being based in the village so near to her house. It's always an extra for us that so many people from round here are coming in and meeting us. Your mum is one popular lady.
When she first arrived she was very unsettled which presented a fair challenge for the staff. With lots of kindness and the right medication my mum has now settled in very well. Her challenging needs are now more under control and she is leading a much happier life.
All the staff at Eshcol House have supported my mum and my family during some tricky times. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff as they have gone above and beyond to make my mum's residency as comfortable and friendly as possible. Everybody gives their best efforts to help and assist at all times.
Thank you so much for your very kind words, Patrick. I'm delighted your mother is settling in now and long may it continue. It's delightful to see her change in presentation and it truly seems she is beginning to enjoy taking part in life at Eshcol House. I will share your review with the team as it's words like yours that are so encouraging for us to keep on doing what we do. Thank you again.
Frankie has been in the home now for over a year and she's settled in lovely, I feel here needs are being met, the staff are so polite and friendly, they offer her to participate in activities when suitable for her to take part in, a lovely home to retire in.
Thank you Donna for such a good review. You are here so much visiting your friend it's like you are part of the Eshcol family and we are pleased that you feel your friend's needs are fully met.
Mum really loved being at Eschol House. She loved the staff and said everyone was very friendly and kind! Mum was treated with respect and everyone seemed to have time for her and were happy to chat with us as well. A lovely home where their residents are taken good care of. Mum said the food was lovely!
Deena, what a fab review and I'm happy that you and the family felt your mum was in such good hands. It was a pleasure having her here and didn't we have a laugh when we all sat chatting that afternoon. Your mum was obviously proud to have you all there and I'm delighted it all turned out so well. Thank you again for these kind words.
My Mum recieved amazing care through out her stay , she had a lovely room with a sea view all the staff could not have done more for her , the food was excellent , the home is very clean and warm, Mum enjoyed her stay at Eshcol Nursing Home , I would like to give the Home and the Staff a 5 Star rating
Thank you for your kind words which I will share with the team. I know you were all concerned that your mum wouldn't settle being away from home but nothing prepared us for how well she adapted to life here. She thoroughly enjoyed people watching on the ground floor and despite having a lovely sea...
The staff were absolutely amazing so friendly and caring nothing was to much trouble. We were made to feel so welcome from the very start.
What a lovely review, Linda, thank you so much. It was great to see your mum come out of herself and engage our team with stories of when she was growing up and what life in Cornwall was like so many years ago. She enjoyed the interaction down in the lounge, was always happy to have a chat and...
The staff are friendly and although busy, are available to chat. Support offered reflects what the resident will accept.
Overall, a positive experience.
A personal issue is that it is quite distant from where I live. Visits are not as often as they could be.
Thank you so much for your review which is much appreciated and it's so unfortunate that we are such a distance from your home. We're pleased that your relative is now much improved as we take great pride in our nursing and care standards.
Caring friendly Nursing home where guests are treated with respect and kindness - they do not pretend to have all bells and whistles (thankfully) but provide safety and everything necessary. Chef also very good . My mother came for care and respite after a hospital admission and even though it was Christmas could not have been better looked after . Beautiful location too with lovely sea/village views from the lounge area.
Thank you so much for your kind review. Please give our regards to your mum and give Daphne the daxie a hug. What a sweet dog.
A wonderful experience for my 87 year old mother in law. She has no mobility and the nursing care she receives is second to none. She will be leaving this lovely care home in January to return to her home and she will really miss it. The food is excellent. The staff are excellent. Always cheerful and willing to work to keep her happy and safe. Thank you so much Eschol. We will miss our visits to see Granny when she leaves. Thank you once again for everything.
Wow, a review to be splashed everywhere. Thank you so much, Rob for such wonderful words. It's an absolute pleasure to have your mother in law here, we don't want her to leave as she has now become part of the Eshcol Family. Your review means a lot to us and we appreciate that you have awarded us a 5 star rating,
My mother stayed at Eshcol house between August and Sept 2025. The staff there were absolutely brilliant. Julie on the front desk always greeted with you with a smile and a brief up date. Communication from Monica our the nurse is always up to date with all the medical info.
All the staff throughout out the home were so polite and helpful you couldn't fault their care and professionalism.
The care home is situated at just off the main road leading into Portscatho with an amazing sea view. It's a little short on parking but I did find a space every time I visited. The home was a hotel quite sometime ago so the corridors are fairly narrow but they have made good use of alcoves and storage spaces so everyone can move around freely.
Overall it has a nice homely feeling and it couldn't be more welcoming.
Thank you Phil for such a sterling review. I am so glad that you found Eshcol House such a good home. We might not have the glitz that a lot of places have but we have such a high standard of care and the capabilities and heart shown by each and every member of the team more than make up for the...
I cannot compliment Eshcol Nursing home enough, there quality of care, kindness and dignity to my mum was outstanding!!! The expertise staff were brilliant, they kept us informed about everything, nothing was ever too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this wonderful home in a beautiful picturesque village to anyone.
Carolyn, how kind of you to leave this lovely review. It is testament to the standards that we all at Eshcol try and maintain and to read these words is proof that the team here are working to a very high standard. It was a pleasure to have our chats when you came in and I will make sure that this review is shared with everyone here.
The staff are always on hand to see to their needs.
The atmosphere is always helpful, cheerful and positive. I recommend this home without reservation.
Thank you so much, Judith, for these lovely and supportive comments. You come in to see your friend so often that you really have become part of the Eshcol family and it's always a pleasure to welcome you. We'll have to arrange for you and Ed from housekeeping to give another dance performance.
Her recovery whilst with Eschol House has been a pleasure to watch with her mobility improving markedly and her spirits improving all the time.
The staff have been relentlessly positive and supportive and have made a huge difference to my mother who is regaining her confidence and cheerful disposition.
Thank you so much for your review. I always look with interest at the stars that people give us and I'd welcome the chance to sit and chat about some of the areas where you feel there could be improvement. This would be a useful exercise and I would appreciate your time for this.
All the staff are lovely, friendly and very caring and have made Mum feel very welcome. They have also encouraged her to join in some of the activities which is great.
It has been a tough few months for Mum after a bad fall and breaking her hip meaning she could no longer live at home and finding Eshcol has been a great relief for the family knowing she is in a friendly local home and receiving all the care she needs.
The food is great and this too has improved Mum's outlook not to mention the lovely sea view from her room.
Thank you to all the team at Eshcol.
Angus [son of new resident]
Angus, thank you very much for such a splendid review. I can really see the difference in your mum from when I first went to assess her in the hospital to the lady that you see now. I do understand how overwhelming it can be, coming from your own home and suddenly having to cope with a real change...
In that time I was able to visit regularly and always considered him to have excellent care.
Although the facilities were fine, the most outstanding feature was the care given by
the staff.
This was of huge importance to me and I was always very happy with it.
I believe that made all the difference to my dad's happy time there.
Thank you so much for leaving this lovely review. As someone who has been here so long that I first knew your dad when he was an Eshcol visitor to his late wife it was bitter sweet (if you know what I mean)to welcome him back here as a resident. Your dad was a first-class gentleman, kind and wise,...
I'd visited my friend several times before and as usual, I was favorably struck by the tidiness of Eschol House. A nice pleasantly clean atmosphere. My friend who has been bedridden for around 4 years was pleased to see me and settled in for a long chat. Intermittently, a knock on the door, a head poked around it and a voice "everythin ok" offer of refreshments for my friend - and for me. Staff demonstrated a caring attitude throughout.
Bill, thank you so much for your very kind words giving welcome feedback about when you come to visit your friend. It is always a pleasure to welcome you here and I look forward to seeing you again soon. I know how much your friend values your visits and it's a shame you live so far away. All the very best to you.
A fantastic care home set in the beautiful Cornish village of Porthscatho. The staff are brilliant and truly care about their residents. My Mother in law has been living there for about a year and had been extremely ill prior to moving to Eshcol. With their care and support she has made a full recovery. A definite recomend!
Thank you so much for your review. It is lovely to read such appreciative words and I will share them with the team. As your mother in law spends the majority of her day down on the ground floor she really enjoys the frequent comings and goings that happen at this level. She and I also share a few...
Lovely caring staff the food is excellent quality mum well looked after with a great choice of activities to keep her occupied we are always made to feel very welcomed. When we visit even the children are well happy with the treats provided which is a bonus
Jason, thank you so much for this great review which I will share with the team. Your mum spends her day down in the lounge and seems to really enjoy being part of the hustle and bustle on the ground floor. I sit in line of sight with the residents in that lounge so have a lot of interaction with...
My friend absolutely loves being in Eshcol House. She cannot speak highly enough of all the staff and feels very safe and cared for. She often says to me, "Don't worry about me, I am very well looked after in here" Staff are doing their utmost to get her mobile again and have brought in special equipment to help her.
Thank you so much for such an uplifting review. I will share it with all the team.
