The only additional charges are for the hairdresser, chiropodist, newspapers and anything else residents ask for in addition to the normal provision of the home. Escorts to appointments can be provided at cost where staffing allows. If travelling to an appointment in our vehicle there will also be a charge for the driver.

If you chose a care home based in England, you may be eligible for NHS Funded Nursing Care (FNC), which helps cover the cost of nursing. This is worth £254.06 per week and is usually paid directly to the care home.
Visitors can visit at any time within reason.

We've been taking a close look at the rating system to try and bring our services up to a full five star standard. The manager, would be very interested in meeting with you to discuss aspects of your review and to get a fresh perspective on why some of the sections are lacking compared to others. If nothing else comes of it at least you will be able to put a face to the name behind the home's registration and hopefully get a lovely slice of cake out of it. No pressure though and from our point of view it would be an interesting exercise.

Carol, thank you so much for this lovely feedback. I remember going to visit your mother-in-law in hospital to do the assessment and she wanted to know if people would be kind to her. Imagine the worry of thinking people might not be kind to you in a nursing home! Here's to her continuing health, her continuing improved appetite and perhaps if she gets used to mobilising again she can come and enjoy some activities in the lounge.

Thank you for such kind words, Angela. I remember on the days that my dog was at Eshcol she would make a beeline for your dad and his biscuit tin! It's such bad luck that your parents' stay was at the height of the epidemic as it did affect outings, visitors, and activities so very much. At least they had the best room in the place and, as you mentioned, you could just lose yourself looking out at that view all day. All the very best to you and the family.
