The food is of a high standard and personal preferences are catered for as far as is possible. There are three large communal rooms for residents to use in addition to a big sunny dining room. The garden provides areas for sitting out and holding barbeques and fetes in the summer.
There are lots of activities and entertainment for residents should they wish to join in.
Residents, relatives and visitors are always made to feel welcome.
The Home has a high standard of cleanliness and is warm and inviting.
Overall I am extremely satisfied with the care my Mum continues to receive at Ponsandane.
Thank you for your review and kind words, we will ensure that these are passed on to the team at Ponsandane.
Friendly staff. Clean and well maintained rooms and facilities. All in all a good care home. The food prepared for the residents is well balanced and nutritious. The outside environs are well kept for the residents. Overall there are no complaints.

I am delighted with the attitude of all the staff at Ponsandane to my sister. Everybody has been very caring and undemanding. They have all been sensitive to her and haven't pressured her to do anything she is not inclined to or doesn't wish to do. Always happy to engage and have a chat when she wants to. The first room was a little small, but we were very thankful for it at such short notice. The room my sister is now in with new carpet is truly excellent. Many thanks to you all. P.S. Food and drink and activities not rated as my sister is not really experiencing these. Security is unobtrusive as this is an open-policy home. Value for money... yes all care is dear but this is a comfortable home in a stunning easy to reach location.

Ponsandane Care Home is doing a first class job of looking after my father. I live a long way from the home but I'm kept up to date with any issues and concerns. Well done Ponsondane very being proactive in my father's care.

The staff have taken time to get to know my husband and given him encouragement to eat again after spending time in hospital.
The team have been very good reviewing his health and taking prompt action when necessary.

Firstly, to enter the home is very easy, no waiting around outside to be let in. I always feel very welcome, the atmosphere has a good vibe, plenty of staff around.
I can freely roam, to go upstairs to his room or the various day rooms downstairs, to see him.
There are a lot of activities organised which are advertised very clearly on a board as you enter, where the residents may or may not join at their choice.
The quality of care I have seen so far is what one would expect and the residents deserve.

My mother has improved beyond recognition since she has been a resident at Ponsandane (just over a year). I last saw her at the end of April as, unlike the rest of the family, I do not live locally. The home is clean and the food is good (cooked on the premises). The staff are kind and caring and there are plenty of activities.

My 106 year old aunt has received her customary excellent care this month. Despite her considerable infirmities and the fact that she has been in effect immobile for five years, lying on her back, she is always in good spirits when I or my wife or younger relatives visit. She has retained her mental faculties, and tells us (long) stories about events which the care staff have shared with her. We attribute her condition to the quality of the care she receives. She likes the staff, and I believe they like her too.

Excellent overall care. Friendly staff. Very good food. Good standard of rooms. Old historic buildings mean limited facilities to an extent. Very conveniently situated near transport hubs and Penzance town centre. Well managed. Good consultation between management, senior care staff and relatives. Always a welcoming face when visiting.

The staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. They are kind and thoughtful. The grounds are very well looked after with mature planting. The rooms are a bit small but they are kept very clean and the linen is changed regularly.

I don't think I could ask for anywhere better. They all went above and beyond my expectations in respect of my Mum's recent 100th birthday.

Mum has now been at Ponsandane for a few months and whilst she took a while to settle she is now very relaxed and happy there. The staff seem very caring, and there is plenty going on that Mum is encouraged to join in with. I received a Christmas card by post from my mum this week that the staff had helped her with, she was so pleased to have sent it. What a nice caring touch that was. There is always a warm welcome. It's never a problem whatever time we turn up to visit, and my dog loves going in to say hi too. Very warm and relaxed atmosphere, residents seem to have plenty of attention to their drinks, food and general needs. I am very happy with the care Mum is receiving. Thank you.
Thank you for your review, we are pleased that you are happy with our care. It means a lot.
Considerate and thoughtful throughout. The facilities are great and the staff could not help enough.
Thank you for your review, we will pass your comments onto the team at Ponsandane.

My sister has been with you over the last two years, entering into care as an end of life resident. I as her younger sister cannot believe how your nurses/carers etc have helped her. I see her each week and come away feeling good. I would like to say a big thank you for the love and help shown both to me and my sister.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review and for your lovely comments which I will ensure are shared with the team at Ponsandane.
All dealings I have had with Ponsandane Care Home have been exemplary. Everyone has been most helpful.

The staff are dedicated to their work. The personal needs of each resident is catered for with friendliness and compassion and there is a good relationship with them. Staff show genuine empathy when questioning residents what they require, for example; regarding needs and staff show great patience, even when a clear response is not forthcoming. Considering the restraints of the number of staff available, time is found for friendly conversations with the residents and this is done with a smile. I have found overall the quality of care at Ponsandane to be excellent. The rooms, corridors etc are always kept clean with no unpleasant smells etc. Having sampled it myself, the food is very good and prepared to cater for each resident individually. I have witnessed fire alarm practice, with doors automatically closing etc, and COVID restrictions have been put in place very thoroughly when deemed necessary. The bedrooms are kept very clean and each has a TV. There is also a large TV in the lounge.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review and for your lovely comments which we will ensure are shared with the team at Ponsandane.
I am extremely impressed by the quality of care at Ponsandane Care Home. The lady I have visited here is very content, happy and at ease with herself. She no longer has the worry and anxiety of looking after herself as she knows she is being so well cared for here. She has absolutely no complaints which is very unlike her, lol! Every single one of the carers is 100% brilliant and their cheerfulness is infectious. Thank you so much.
Thank you for your review and kind comments which will be shared with the team at Ponsandane.
I find the home and the staff lovely. The staff are very thoughtful and seem to go out of their way to help.
