Hill House Nursing Home

Worrying when shes on her own sometimes but difficult job - and difficult being old.

Hill House is a relatively small and community Nursing Home. My father was there 18 months with Parkinson's until the end. The overall quality of care was excellent. Medical support and personal care is exemplary. The staff were kind and gentle. The social side was well run. Running a home such as Hillhouse is a tough business in getting and retaining staff and Carol the manager is doing an excellent job. Dusan on the medical side equally. So after 18 months of experience I would mark it 5 stars.

Every member of the team from domestics, care staff, nurses and activities were second to none. Every care was taken to make sure she was comfortable and happy in her stay, she made friends and contributed to some of the activities in the group

I found the home my sister is in is lovely, the staff and management are excellent, cleanliness is excellent also. My sister was admitted due to be very unwell in hospital and a long stay so came here for rehabilitation. They also take the time to organise entertainment and activities for the residents. Overall excellent

We visit his mother every week and do crosswords to stimulate her. She is very good with words + crosswords. We appreciate the efforts of the staff to help the residents. It is good that there are entertainers and activities and we can visit the Hill House website to view the entertainers of the day and see the enjoyment of the residents.

Very happy with the place, Staff are always friendly and helpful. The entertainment staff are brilliant, great with the residents and always make sure the residents are well entertained. Always happy and so friendly. The manager is always so helpful if there is ever any problems.

I never expected to be in care for this length of time. I am trying to deal with this as best as I can. My loss of mobility and independence is difficult to come to terms with. The staff at Hill House help keep me focused and included in their group.

I have found Hill House a very caring and pleasant place for my husband. The staff are very pleasant and extremely kind to their residents. Any complaints are dealt with immediately and efficiently and the management staff are very approachable. The food and general cleaning are excellent. The entertainments that are laid on are most appreciated.

He enjoys entertainment and all the chats with staff. He loves the girls & telling his jokes.

This is second time here. In for 2 weeks rest bite, was in hospital and asked if I could come back as I had a really good experience last time (2024)

mum was treated with utmost dignity and respect throughout her stay at Hill House. Staff went over and above to help both family and mum.

We only wish we had taken her to Hill House earlier than we did.

After suffering a stroke, my father was afraid to go home. He wanted to go to Hill House because he knew he would be safe and well cared for there. His late wife, my mother, received excellent care during the last years of her life at Hill House, and he quality of life was greatly improved. Once again, Hill House provided excellent care for my father. My family and I are extremely grateful. Hill House feels like home away from home, and the staff feel like an extended family. They are kind, caring, and welcoming. Thanks to all at Hill House for the amazing work that you do!

My experience of Hill House Nursing Home was a very pleasant one. Very clean and tidy and well cared for residents. Staff all very nice and cheerful. Seems to me to be a very well-run nursing home, giving the older people a well cared for and pleasant life in their old age.

I came to visit my nan - Shirley. Her personal care was done with dignity, immaculately clean and dressed. Julie made us welcome, her and Holly very professional and make the residents feel special and truly loved. Lovely to see the memory books, special touches with decor (autumnal/Halloween), soft furnishings. Drinks/snacks plentiful & offered regularly. Daily activities/entertainment to a very high standard. Extremely clean throughout communal areas & Nan's bedroom. Safety is second to non - very important with residents. Beautiful outside area/enclosed for security. Our minds are at ease knowing Nan is well looked after. Thank you all.

My mum arrived for a rest and decided to stay permanent. The care is good and nothing is too much trouble. Just sometimes looks under staffed.

My mother has settled very well at Hill House after her reluctance to go into care, she is now very happy. The staff are very efficient and attentive to look after her needs. We always feel welcomed by staff and there is a family atmosphere to help us feel at home. We have no worries and are very grateful. Thank you.

My mother has been a resident at Hill House for over a year and recently passed away. She has received such wonderful care from the staff at Hill House and they made her final months with us so much more comfortable for her. I have been so impressed by all the stimulating social experiences like the musicians and pets. The staff have been so caring and welcoming.
