I have found the care staff and management brilliant over the past 4 months.
My mum arrived for a rest and decided to stay permanent. The care is good and nothing is too much trouble. Just sometimes looks under staffed.

I can't fault the care that the staff at Blackdown gave my mum in her final month. They were thoughtful to all my mum's needs, and our needs. They kept us fully informed on everything, from her medication needs and changes, to her general comfort on a day today basis. The whole experience of visiting
my mum @ Blackdown was always very relaxing. I knew that Mum was being very well looked after and I would never have any hesitation in recommending this home to others.

Mum has been at Three Corners for nearly two years now and in that time we have been delighted to see her transform back into a happy person from the one struggling to live alone and cope with hospital admissions.
We really appreciate the work that the staff have put in to reassure her and make her
feel safe & secure, always with love and a sense of humour. They understand dementia and how to bring out the best in someone who initially felt confused, scared and not in control. Mum now engages well with everyone, staff and other residents.
The activity staff cannot be faulted either as the variety of activities is brilliant. Cannot over estimate how this breaks up the day for someone living in a care home setting. The efforts they go to, to ensure room bound residents are also involved is very heart warming.

My wife is cared for very well. She feels she is loved by the carers and nurses. I give excellent for all the caterories except facilities. This is because of the number and length of time the lift is out of order.

My mother became a resident at Blackdown approx 1 month ago & her condition rapidly changed to end of life care. The staff kept us informed of our mothers care at every step of the way. Cannot fault the care mum received. All staff friendly & approachable. We mainly dealt with the manager & staff nurse
who was the deputy who were more that willing to deal with any issues we had as a family.
Would hiighly recommend this nursing home, beautiful setting & comfy rooms.

My father in law was staying with us, till the point he no longer could. My wife didn't want any outside help or support. It took alot for her to let someone help. Blackdown couldn't of been a better fit for us all. My father-in law was happy, comfortable and felt safe enough to be honest in how he
felt. the staff have been amazing in their support to him and us as a family. While doing their job they've also made sure my wife/kids are well looked after while there.

I was caring for my Dad at home after a year of caring for my mum/step dad through cancer, I did not want him to spend his last months anywhere other than home, it came to a point where for his health and my mental health I had no choice, Blackdown was found and I couldn't be more greatful. The staff
have saved me, made me feel welcome and supported in the darkest time of life. The care and attention they've provided my Dad is untouched. I will forever be greatful to them.

Blackdown - the manager and two members of staff specifically and all staff have been fantastic with my Dad who moved in following a long stay in hospital. By nature, my dad is very anxious and takes a while to settle. Blackdown have been more than accommodating, giving him time, patience and more
importantly the specialist care he requires.
I am happy and relieved that I know his days are enriched with activities and entertainment, good and plentiful food and great care and that I don't have the worry about his welfare.
I couldn't have placed him in a better home

Blackdown Nursing Home is absolutely wonderful. The staff are so kind and caring that my husband settled immediately. The care he was given was exceptional and that gave me complete confidence that he was in safe hands. If the staff had any concerns - even minor - they would call and let me know, so
that I was always informed. If he wanted to have a walk about, there was always a member of staff nearby to keep an eye on him and help if he was a bit wobbly that day! Every time I visited, I was so impressed with everything - from the attentive nursing staff and the smiling chef with his super meals, to the activities, which were varied and excellent. His south-facing bedroom was lovely with stunning views across the village and Dartmoor. Management manage the home faultlessly, along with ample staff. I will be forever grateful to them all for making his final weeks the best they could be. Thank you to the entire wonderful team.
