  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 28 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Mount Olivet Nursing Home in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.767 for Mount Olivet Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (272 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (15 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 331 Ratings = 4.767

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mount Olivet Nursing Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Lovely review Julia. Many thanks from all the staff here at the home. It is wonderful to know that Mum is so happy and content here.

What a relief it was to find Mount Olivet. As my mother's needs became more and more extensive it was clear we needed a home that could provide full nursing care and immediately when I entered Mount Olivet I knew we had found the right one. My mum is very well cared for and treated with dignity and respect. To top it all she has a fabulous room that overlooks Torbay.

I have come over from Dubai to visit my grandad in his new care home. He has settled in so well. The staff have been excellent. They are all friendly and welcoming. The garden is lovely with a sea view. We are all so pleased and lucky that we have found such a wonderful home for grandad. I couldn't think of anywhere nicer that he could spend his last years.

Thank you for such a lovely review of the home and staff. It is always very mush appreciated to hear how resident's families have such positive views of us.

My grandad moved to this home from London and has settled very well due to the staff being extremely friendly and welcoming. He has a lovely garden room where he loves sitting or looking out from in the bad weather.
The staff go above and beyond to fulfil his needs.
I would highly recommend this home to anyone who is thinking of using it, as it has a very homely feel.

A wonderful care home for my father. Good location with beautiful sea views. Rooms are nicely kept and the whole building is kept to a high standard. The staff are brilliant from the cleaners to the nursing staff to management. They are professional, committed, but most importantly they are caring, friendly and helpful. As a family, we could not have wished for anywhere nicer for our loved one. I have no negative comments whatsoever about this care home.

My Dad was moved from London to Mount Olivet to be near his family. The staff are friendly, helpful, caring and nothing is too much trouble. My Dad tells me everytime I see him how happy he is, how the food is lovely (he is very fussy) and how the staff are so kind and friendly to him. I couldn't ask for any more for him.

How lovely to hear that your Dad has settled really well into his new home and we hope to continue in ensuring his happiness. Thank you from us all.

My father-in-law was moved from London in March this year. We were very apprehensive as he lived in London most of his life and had always said he wouldn't move to Devon.
After years of trying to persuade him, he finally agreed.
He tells us every time we see him what a wonderful place Mount Olivet is. The food is lovely, the staff are very kind and helpful, he has a garden room and loves to sit out in the garden. He said he is very happy there.

Thank you, I B. The staff here all appreciate your kind words, they all look forward to your visits and support.

After having an operation I came into a very safe room with lots of care.
I was given good food three times a day, coffee and tea between meals, more if I wanted it.
They had many staff day and night always around seeing if I was alright for everything.
All the nurses had time to talk to me and they didn't have to keep running off.

Thank you, Carole, for the feedback. It was a pleasure to be involved with your re-enablement and enhancing your recovery, we wish you well and hope you are back to full fitness. Good Health to you.

Excellent caring staff that not only care for my father, who has advanced dementia but support and care for my mother who, after 60 years of marriage, had to make the hardest decision of her life when placing my father with them.
Living far away from my parents, I am confident that they are both well supported. My father has settled very well and all his needs are met.
The manager goes above and beyond her duty - recently making sure my mother's birthday was not forgotten ( her first one on her own). My mother often speaks about the staff treating her like family.
I couldn't wish for my dad to be in a better place. Thank you, management and staff.

Thank you for that great review. We appreciate that we are meeting Dad's care needs and welcome support from you and your family.

Having reluctantly moved from her previous nursing home my Mother was very unhappy and I did wonder if this would set her back. But I need not have worried. She soon settled under the care she received. The carers were caring, compassionate and listened to what she had to say.
The management and staff work well as a team and this shows when just walking through the home and seeing the entire staff working as a team and all to a high standard.
Best of all they make my mum laugh and smile everyday.

That help and care was also passed onto myself and to the rest of my son's relatives and friends. towards the end of there were five of us that were allowed to stay for several days and nights to be with my son until the end. Thank you for your lovely review. The staff here at Mount Olivet will have fond memories of your son. I'm so glad we could be there to support him and his family.

Mum lived at Mount Olivet following a second major stroke disabled her, meaning that dad was unable to continue looking after her. Staff at Mount Olivet were always caring, seemed to enjoy their work and made a loving, safe and happy place for the residents. Mum always enjoyed the food provided. The clinical lead at Mount Olivet has taken the management of care at the home to a new level of excellence. I always felt confident in her and the rest of the nursing team to look after mum in the right way, they made her comfortable throughout her life there to the very end. If you had to live in a nursing home it always helps if there is a view of the sea!

The staff are extremely caring and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The room is adequate but could do with being slightly bigger but outlook onto a pretty garden is pleasant.

The food on balance is good but hot food tends to be lukewarm by the time it reaches the patient. Activities: The home would benefit from a nicer lounge where people could meet one another and have some form of entertainment. No effort seems to be made to stimulate those patients who although ill are still compos mentis.
