Overall Experience
I have always been greeted with courtesy and friendliness upon visiting a resident. Staff are always polite and helpful and the resident I visit seems well cared for and content.
Bedrooms and communal areas are clean and comfortable and each room looks as homely as possible, with the resident's own items. There seems to be plenty of activities for residents to participate in (exercise, music and creative) and it is lovely to see their artwork on display.

There is a welcoming and warm atmosphere in the home. Many thanks to all staff for making this possible.

Reply from Carole Wood, Finance & Operations Manager at Mount Olivet Nursing Home

Thank you for taking the time to complete this review. These are important to us and your feedback and thanks will be passed on to our manager and care teams. We too enjoy seeing the residents' artwork on display and we openly encourage family and friends to help make their rooms as home from home as possible.

Overall Experience

Our friend of over 40 years moved into Mount Olivet Nursing Home about two months ago, and we have come from Birmingham to visit her on several occasions, staying nearby for several days on each occasion. We are very pleased with the home. Her room is very pleasant and well equipped with a good view of the attractive rear garden. The meals are good and attractively served. The best aspect of the home is the staff who are very friendly, and we feel we have got to know them quite well. They are hardworking and clearly care for the welfare of the residents, so we are really happy with the home and are confident our friend is being well cared for.

Reply from Carole Wood, Finance & Operations Manager at Mount Olivet Nursing Home

We are so pleased to hear you are confident with the care we are giving your friend and that you have been made to feel welcome in our home when visiting. We agree our staff are hardworking and your feedback will be passed on as they all appreciate their efforts are being recognised so thank you for that.

The care staff are friendly and helpful. Tolerant with a client who can be difficult.

Reply from Carole Wood, Finance & Operations Manager at Mount Olivet Nursing Home

Thank you for the review. We appreciate your comments. We would never ourselves describe any of our clients as being 'difficult'. Some may just have a more challenging character or more complex needs but nothing that our amazing care staff cannot handle.

I am extremely pleased with the quality of care I am receiving at Mount Olivet Nursing Home. The carers are always attentive, day and night and they attend to your needs. Whatever the time of the day when you call them they attend to you promptly. Same is true of the nurses. The quality of meals is excellent. I think I am lucky to have chosen Mount Olivet.

All the staff are so friendly. Regularly cleaned throughout. Regular activities for the residents, sometimes out of the home, which we didn't think our dad would be able to do again. Birthday gifts and cake, along with Christmas and Easter too. Communication is good - if there has been a problem, someone from the home has called without delay.

Highly recommend.

I was admitted to Mount Olivet on the 15th of December 2022 from the hospital following a complex hip replacement. I was discharged home on the 17th of January. During my time in Mount Olivet, I developed pneumonia and was so grateful for the care I received. I found all the staff most professional and would certainly recommend Mount Olivet as an excellent nursing home.

A lovely, well-run and clean nursing home for my dad's last few days. He had a lovely sunny room with French windows looking onto a beautiful garden. The staff were so caring and kind to Dad and our family. Nothing was too much trouble. They went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable, pain-free and comforted right to the end. Every day he was always clean and tidy. Just as he would want. With fresh clothes and bedding. The food was excellent. Every effort was made to make his specialised eating plan as palatable as possible. On his last day, we were looked after with numerous cups of tea and food. The staff treated Dad and family with compassion, respect and dignity. Thank you so much.

Overall Experience

The home is dirty. Has a beautiful conservatory but after the roof blinds fell off in February 2023 when the sun is out it's out of use. When it rains it leaks! The lounge took five months to decorate and is used more by staff than by residents. After making complaints we were accused of micro-managing staff. We have now moved homes with another resident. The CQC was inspecting in April 2023 and we are awaiting the report. I feel sorry for the poor people who have no one to speak for them.

Reply from Carole Wood, Finance & Operations Manager at Mount Olivet Nursing Home

Thank you for your review. We are saddened but not surprised. We take feedback seriously to ensure we provide the very best care. Audits and feedback show the home is very clean and passed strict Infection Control checks from CQC and the Trust. Entry is by keycode and visitors must sign in before...

The staff are very caring and competent. They seem like extended family and it is reassuring that my aunt is in such a friendly home. The home is very clean. The food is excellent. Activities for the residents take place and now that visiting restrictions have been eased they happen more often.

My aunt is vulnerable but I feel that she is in safe hands at Mount Olivet.

Our dad has resided at Mount Olivet for over 5 years now. He has late-stage Parkinson's Disease. Despite Dad's very poor health, he is treated so very well by all the staff, they all love him and that really comes across. Dad also has a lovely room with sea views so we feel very blessed as a family that he has the best care. Every time we visit, Dad is always clean shaven and dressed. The home is kept very clean and there is plenty of staff so it is very well run. We are most grateful that Dad is at Mount Olivet.

My mother was taken ill with a urinary infection, the paramedics were called and discussed with me if she should go to hospital, they said long queue at A&E so the lovely nurses agreed to look after her. The night nurse spent most of the night with her as she was so worried. All the nurses and care staff looked after her and got her better. So thank you one and all, that includes the cleaning staff who keep things spotless and always with a smile.

It is a wonderful home from home and the care that is given to my mum is 100%. Yesterday was Mothering Sunday and they went out of their way and provided a wonderful cream tea experience for me, my mum, sister and brother-in-law, which was very delicious and all homemade.
