Queen Charlotte Nursing Home is a care home specialising in dementia care. Set in a character property located amongst mature, manicured gardens, the home is decorated to offer sensory and tactile stimulation, appropriate for all stages of dementia.

The home offers spacious single bedrooms with en-suite facilities. There are a number of lounges which are ideal for watching television, socialising with friends or enjoying some quiet time.

Residents are provided with nutritionally-balanced meals which are prepared onsite, using locally sourced ingredients. The home welcomes menu suggestions from residents and encourages them to live healthy lifestyles through a good diet and physical and mental exercise.

I have found the staff to be very helpful and caring at all times. Generally, both my mother and myself have been happy with the care that she receives. I have been made to feel welcome by administrative staff on entering the home also.

During these difficult times, Queen Charlotte Care Home has been a place of reassurance and calm. All the staff have made Mum, myself and family members feel very welcome with kindness and understanding. Mum is treated as an individual with dignity and care. Mum had a few medical difficulties when she
arrived 6 months ago and I'm pleased to say the staff have continued to monitor her health, ensuring she is now more comfortable.

My husband spent the last few weeks of his life in the loving care of Queen Charlotte Care Home. They also gave their loving care to me over the last six days when I needed to be there and made sure I experienced the chef's specialties. The staff go the extra mile to ensure that residents are comfortable
and safe, as well as to extend a warm welcome to relatives.

My Mum has been admitted to Queen Charlotte Care Home and has been there a month. The home has lovely, friendly and welcoming staff. They have been so kind to my Mum and to me as well, nothing is too much trouble and they are attentive to my Mum's needs. My Mum has said the food is exceptional and she
cannot fault the staff with her care. I personally think my Mum has flourished since she has been in the home, looking well and cared for. Her room is nice and airy with a lovely outlook from her window over the fantastic garden. This puts my mind at rest knowing this and I cannot thank the staff enough.

My Grandma has been admitted to this home in the last 6 months. She was very nervous about going into a care home, however, the staff have made her feel very welcome and by allowing her to have personal possessions in her room, this has made her feel at home. They always have some activities on the
go, this has enabled my grandma to make friends and form a social community within the home. She has said the care staff and management are very friendly and they have always made me feel part of the Queen Charlotte family when visiting the home. The food always looks appealing and the home is in a good condition. Thank you for taking care of my grandma.

My elderly neighbour was extremely reluctant to go into a care home but I have to say that since being in this home, their opinions have completely changed. The caring staff take time to interact with the residents, despite their workload and are happy to do so. The meals are tasty and they also manage
to have themed menus. The home is always clean and welcoming and the staff have worked so hard in the trying times with COVID. A well-led home, well done.

This is a gem of a home, with an emphasis on home. Our 91-year-old neighbour, for whom we have LPA, admitted himself here and has not looked back. He is looked after wonderfully, in every way, from cleanliness, meeting his needs whilst recognising his privacy and wish to do things for himself. He was
admitted using a wheelchair, is now on his rollator and is wonderful to see. The staff come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, which for an ex-Navy man, is great as he has travelled the world and now talks again of those times. It is wonderful to see, as he is going from strength to strength. Great management, combined with lovely, caring staff who cannot do enough and go the extra mile, you are a credit to Kingsley Care.

The home has come so far in the last few months since the new manager has taken over. She is friendly, vibrant and so upbeat, she makes everyone feel safe and most of all she has kept Covid-19 out of the home. The staff are always happy to be at work, are friendly and always make time to talk to residents
and relatives too. The smiles on the resident's faces say a lot. Keep up the good work.

My husband has been a resident for a while now. I have in the past felt like no one listened to me. Now I feel that I have the support I should have had when my husband was first admitted to Queen Charlotte. The new manager goes out of her way to make sure that I and my husband are happy. The nurses
are very good also. I often stay for lunch and the food is always very nice.

My Mum had advanced Dementia and she was happy and content during her stay. The care provided for her was exemplary and outstanding. All the staff work as a Team to deliver high standards of care for every resident. I would recommend Queen Charlotte’s highly. The staff are professional and show great

My father has been at the Queen Charlotte Care home since September 2018. Having a member of family we are unable to care for ourselves has been incredibly difficult for us to accept as a family, and the staff at the Queen Charlotte Care Home have simply been amazing. We were made to feel very welcome
and there simply is nothing the home won't do for us. Over the Christmas period, the staff really made every effort to entertain and bring really genuine good cheer to all the residents. I have been bowled over by the care they give my father and i feel very lucky that he is in such caring, well run home. I will never be able to thank all the staff enough as their work and care has brought such comfort and relief to my mother and me as well as my father. Visiting is a pleasure and i get to spend some quality times with my dad, which at this stage is all i could hope for.

The care and treatment of my daughter who has terminal brain tumours has been beyond excellent. She has been treated with such care and management I personally hold them in such awe for the help they have given my daughter and myself. The food is tremendous as good as any restaurant. Great choice of
menu and tremendous adaptability. All I can say with my heart is thank you.

Our 91-year-old cousin has been a resident for seven weeks, suffering from dementia and requiring constant care and reassurance.


I cannot speak too highly about the staff and facilities. You are always greeted with a smile and the smell of fresh food and cakes. The gardens are beautiful and well

cared for. Our cousin had trouble settling into this style of living, but the staff have been wonderful, spending time with her and reassuring her. Overall wonderful staff and facilities.

Transferring from a Care Home, where my Mum was settled, has been distressing, but the staff work hard to calm her. The care my mother receives is very good, despite a challenging workload. Dealing continually with residents, particularly 30 minutes after mealtimes when they can need the toilet all
at the same time, poses significant stress. With the staff needing to use equipment, often family members step up to provide support. When we are visiting around mealtimes we often need to help to feed my mother. Decor and furnishings at QC are modern, but not cosy. Laminate flooring in bedrooms, though hygienic and easy to clean, means when my mother falls its mainly on a hard surface. There isn't always a jug squash/water in my mother's room. My mother's appearance and cleanliness have improved significantly. The garden is lovely. The staff are hardworking, caring and friendly and I'm kept informed of incidents involving my mother. Overall, I find little to criticize QC.
