Although my mother was only in Acorn Lodge for just under two weeks before she passed away, the staff did everything they could for her. We were kept well informed of any issues with her medical needs. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff, unfortunately, I did not have all their names, a special thanks to the lead carers in the Acorn Lodge. I have put satisfactory for Activities as my mother didn't have a chance to use them (this was due to the mandatory 14-day lockdown isolation due to Covid).

The care from the staff is both loving and thorough, making my mother happy to reside at Acorn Lodge (Oakdene Care Home). The manager has stepped up to the role very well and her leadership style is both professional and empathetic and a big improvement over her predecessor's. However, since the care home has fallen from a private care home into a large corporate organisation, the true signs of greed surface every year. Double-digit price increases without any justification, to now £1,400 per week is really taking the ...., especially when the staff are on virtually the minimum wage. This is a disgrace and the shareholders should take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror!

During the pandemic, keeping up to date about my mum's health and wellbeing has been challenging. Thankfully whether by email or telephone the efforts of both the care staff and the admin staff have ensured that a week does not go by without a message of some sort or other to let me know how she is and that she is safe and well.

Thank you for taking the time to send this kind review. We have had to adapt the way we communicate with each other, so much over the last year. My team have risen to each challenge and have managed to make sure that loved ones can continue to be involved in helping us to provide high standards of care to our residents.

Although sadly, mum was only in Acorn Lodge for three weeks until she passed away, the care she was given and the support the family had from the staff was amazing. Obviously, due to the pandemic, contact with mum was restricted, but in her last few days, the staff did everything to make sure we were able to be with her whenever we wanted. We cannot thank them enough for their kindness.

My Mother has resided in Oakdene Care Home for several years now and like everyone with a loved one in a Care Home it has been a very difficult time during the past year, however, I am so thankful that my Mother has been and is under the care of their amazing staff and management. I will never forget that they all put themselves on the front line to continue the professional and loving care given to all the residents under such an extreme situation. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and someone is always available to help when I call which has been very important during this time. If I've ever needed to be informed about something regarding my Mother's care, I have always been contacted immediately, which is really important for my peace of mind. During the time I haven't been able to visit it's been a comfort to know how much all the staff really care and have done so many extra things to help with my Mother's well being.

Mum has been at Acorn Lodge (part of Oakdene Care Home) for nearly 3 years and she has been superbly cared for and is happy. The dedication of all the staff is superb and they really care about the well-being of their residents. We looked at many many care homes for Mum but are so glad we selected Oakdene. Mum's friends and family all say the same.

My mum has been at Oakdene Care Home since November 2018. She has been happy and extremely well-cared for during this time. The staff are definitely Oakdene’s biggest asset. They have all done an amazing job this year, despite the difficulties. My mum has a very small appetite but she is always kept well-supplied with a bowl of fresh fruit in her room, which she loves. So thank you all.

I cannot speak highly enough of the hard work and dedication of the team looking after my husband. They show such care and kindness. He is so well looked after; he always looks so smart and it's obvious to me that he receives excellent personal care. They show great kindness to me when I phone and I am very reassured he is receiving excellent care.

My Dad gets wonderful care at Oakdene and the staff have all gone the extra mile to protect the residents from Covid. There are always activities going on, the whole place is spotlessly clean, well maintained and the food is always good. Dad was at a different home before he came to Oakdene, the difference between the two is unbelievable, thank you!

I cannot praise all the staff at Oakdene Acorn Lodge for the care and support to my mother in this very trying time. I am able to visit mum at the moment with the help of a special room being available and we can hold hands. It was her birthday recently and all the staff made her day very special. If ever I phone the home to book an appointment or to ask for information about mum I am treated with courtesy and friendliness.

The rest home is a modern building with all amenities. The Residents are well looked after by the caring Staff. The meals are very nice, especially the Desserts and Cake! The staff are caring and attentive and have taken good care of my Mother. It is a well-run care home where 'Care' means "Care".

Oakdene acted promptly in March locking down earlier than the Government's recommendations. This has proved to have worked and the residents have all remained safe. Well done to the manager and staff.
A dedicated team who know the residents and their needs well and who are always ready to answer any queries or questions.

This is the 6th year my father has been here and I would make exactly the same choice again! Thank you.

Mum has been at Acorn Lodge since 2016. Staff are friendly and approachable and always make us welcome. Mum is treated with respect and her needs met with care and respect for her privacy. The home is clean and mum enjoys the activities she is able to join in with. During the current difficult situation due to Covid-19 we have been glad that mum is in safe, caring and understanding hands.

A very dear friend who was very independent until a few months ago had a short spell in hospital after a fall and we were advised that she needed full-time care to ensure her safety. She has been in Oakdene for nearly 8 months now and although it took her a little time to settle, the care and patience she has had from all the wonderful staff there has been outstanding and she now really thinks of it as home. I would also like to thank Oakdene for their decision to close the home to visitors due to the pandemic long before the government advice and this action has ensured the safety of all residents and staff. Sadly this has meant that we have been unable to visit her for some months now but we were allowed a "window" visit on her 101st Birthday recently. We look forward to regular visits again when we are allowed to do so. Oakdene is a wonderful home from home and I am so glad we found it.

My Mum has been in Oakdene since the end of December 2019. My Mum has settled in extremely well and this makes me very happy. She always looks clean and tidy. Her room is lovely and kept to a high clean standard. The staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. Food is first class and there are lots of activities with again caring staff. I think all of the staff are amazing, especially in this difficult time of lockdown at the moment. They share photos and comments on Facebook, which again with lockdown this is a lovely way to keep in touch. Thank you all at Oakdene. Take Care.

The nursing staff are first class, the care staff are good. The catering facilities are first class.

All the staff are polite, everyone speaks to you, very polite. The car parking is not very good, there needs to be more care spaces for visitors. I can't think of any more to say. I don't have any worries, except car spaces. Thank you.
