This nursing home is superb. I cannot fault it in any of the important areas. The care is second to none. Everything is transparent and nothing is hidden from view. The home itself is a bit dated but the care is second to none. I have no hesitation in recommending it.
My father was in Silverways with terminal cancer. The staff were lovely, offering support, cuddles and kind words to us, his family. They were very gentle and caring towards my father; one day he fell asleep in his chair with his head on his tray table, rather than disturb him, I found that someone had placed a pillow under his head - such a lovely gesture. Another time a member of staff sat with Dad for a couple of hours - just so he wasn't alone. I wouldn't have wished my father to end his days as he did but I am confident he received the best of care. When we visited we were made to feel very welcome - my mother was offered lunch and I was always offered tea and bickies to get me through harrowing visits. I can only thank everyone involved with my father's care.
There is always an enthusiastic and cheerful atmosphere at the home.

- Good - The service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
- Requires Improvement - The service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
