They were excellent in all areas, we felt happy leaving my mum there.
Everyone was lovely to meet, they show real care and concern.
All caring staff and management showed a wonderful level of kindness to both my brother and family. Making each visit a pleasant experience during this traumatic time.
I was kept fully informed as my brother's health declines and the family received magnificent support at the time of his passing.
Excellent service, wonderful food and the care provided was really outstanding. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.
Our friend has been in Avon Cliff for almost two years. He was very poorly when he went in but thanks to the excellent care he has received, he has a new lease of life. Whenever we visit we find the staff always cheerful and happy to help in any way. They have provided our friend with a happy, loving and enriching life.
I would like to commend the team at Avon Cliff for the outstanding end of life given to my Aunt. At all times, she was treated with great kindness and dignity.
An excellent quality of service is being provided to my wife - I could not wish for a higher standard and have no criticisms whatsoever. The staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. The high standard of care provided is tailored to individual needs. A good choice of well prepared meals is available. The furnishings are of a high quality, and the whole building is kept very clean and tidy. Residents are encouraged (but never pressured) to participate in the many social activities, events and entertainment provided. A recently created cafe has provided an especially attractive area where residents can meet their relatives or other visitors for chats and refreshments. Long term and short stay residents are made equally welcome by the staff.
We would not hesitate to recommend the home and will be bringing our mother back from time to time should we ever need to consider using you again. Thank you for your help, our family feel supported and confident that my mother was in safe caring hands.
When evaluating the 'Home', my wife and I were shown each of the public areas and introduced to the managers responsible. We both found this very useful as we were able to discuss my mother's particular requirements and on each occasion, we were re-assured. Viewing each of the rooms and meeting the 24-hour nursing staff gave us further reassurance and peace of mind. When we collected mum from the home, all she talked about was the lovely staff and food and when would she be able to return...That says it all.
Management of accommodation, care, entertainment, safety excellent. Food good quality and served well. Genuinely friendly atmosphere. Professional care and very good entertainment.
The activities organiser is a brilliant asset to the home and a credit, he has a great rapport with all residents.
Catering is good - always nutritious and just right for mums appetite.
The attention of care my colleague receives from all the staff and carers is excellent and I could not wish any better for her.
My friend (the resident) had a stroke and needs a great deal of care and assistance. The home is a lovely place with truly caring management and staff, the room is always clean and bright and my friend is very well cared for.
My initial discussion took place with the home care management at my home and a further tour of all facilities provided at Avon Cliff. I was delighted that I made my choice as Avon Cliff lived up to all my hopes for the kind of "its got everything break" I was hoping to find speedily - in this matter I was helped by a close friend who "found" Avon Cliff and helped all the way.
The above care home has just arranged a 90th birthday celebration for my sister who is currently a resident there. It was an excellent event, enjoyed by all in a very relaxed atmosphere. Organisation was excellent food and drink first class and the service impeccable. Everyone enjoyed the occasion and went home very well satisfied. The care provided appears to be excellent in every aspect.
Excellent general care for my friend, who can be very difficult (dementia). Teething problems initially have been rectified. As always there can be communication problems with staff, there is a "communication" log but not always read, staff are busy. All this is improving any discussions always has a positive outcome. We all strive for perfection.
My recent stay at Avon Cliff, is the second time I have been cared for there, after orthopaedic surgery. On both occasions I have been looked after so well, my recovery has been rapid and successful. I have graded the care I received as 'Excellent' in all areas, as I could find no fault, anywhere, from my welcome by the manager and reception staff, to the kindness of the carers and nurses, auxiliary staff, kitchen and dining room, and the activities organisers, my stay was both enjoyable and beneficial. My room and bed were very comfortable, no request was too difficult to execute, and the night staff were particularly helpful and reassuring. I have recommended Avon Cliff to friends, and should I have another period needing respite, I shall not hesitate to go there again.
My aunt has thoroughly enjoyed her respite care (approx 12 days) and we can see what a difference her stay has made. All the staff have been very friendly and so helpful.
Very good experience. When I need to choose a care home in the future I will definitely come back to Avon Cliff. All staff are excellent.
Transferred wife with pelvic fracture by ambulance from the general hospital for respite care. Welcomed by care home manager was warm and sincere and sympathetic. Room good, food excellent and all comments to Matron or the lady on reception dealt with promptly and professionally. Sometimes the room carers speed of response was patchy and on one or two occasions caused distress. The two weeks at Avon Cliff has assisted my wife on her long journey back to full health.
We are sorry that the speed of response was not consistent. We routinely monitor all our call bell response times and where these fall short of our company standards we feed this back to the home as an improvement action.
Our neighbour has been in Avon Cliff for several months now and we are really impressed. Having worked in care homes I can be a little critical but cannot find fault with this home. The staff are always pleasant and have time for you. Our friend has a new lease of life and is so content. Hope if our turn comes to have to have care we can receive this level of care.
