Avon Cliff is a purpose-built care home offering superb accommodation and first-class residential and nursing care.

Residents enjoy companionship and can join in with singing, music, exercise and arts and crafts sessions. There is the opportunity for gentle gardening activities in the summer sunshine, and there is a busy pen pal scheme.
The home is registered for nursing care and staffed by dedicated nurses and health care professionals with extensive experience in caring for age-related conditions and fully trained in infection control.

This was my first experience of being at the receiving end of a care home and everything surpassed my expectations.
Avon Cliff is outstanding in every way. This must be because of the manager (Matron) and senior management team.
The home is beautifully appointed and maintained to a high standard.
The food is superb.
Every member of staff I have encountered is kind, caring and dedicated. They are interested in every resident. My two week stay has been memorable.

Avon Cliff is excellent, a real "home from home" for my father. The first moment I walked through the front door I knew that we had made the right choice; clean, friendly, professional, approachable staff, all looking very happy in their work. The standard of care of the residents is first class with
their needs always prioritised over any other. The management, clinical lead and administrative staff are very attentive and always helpful and knowledgeable. The care staff look after the residents extremely well. We are so lucky to have found such a wonderful care home. Thanks to everyone.

This is a first class nursing home. It came to my family by way of recommendation from a friend who spent the last few weeks of his life there. My Mother has been a resident for 6 months and is very happy with the treatment that she receives and the attention and friendliness of the staff at all levels
- from cleaning people to the matron. It is of great comfort to my family to know that she is as well looked after - communication is excellent.

My mother originally came in for 4 weeks respite after leaving hospital but, due to circumstance is now staying until the end of April. The staff have been wonderful, the care they provide is amazing and they are so attentive. The food is also very good with a good varied menu. My mother has made some
lovely friends at Avon Cliff. The staff go that extra mile and also make family members feel so welcome. I really can't praise them enough.

I and my family felt that the care that my brother received from Avon Cliff in the last two months of his life was second to none.
All caring staff and management showed a wonderful level of kindness to both my brother and family. Making each visit a pleasant experience during this traumatic time.
I was kept fully informed as my brother's health declines and the family received magnificent support at the time of his passing.

An excellent quality of service is being provided to my wife - I could not wish for a higher standard and have no criticisms whatsoever. The staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. The high standard of care provided is tailored to individual needs. A good choice of well prepared meals is available.
The furnishings are of a high quality, and the whole building is kept very clean and tidy. Residents are encouraged (but never pressured) to participate in the many social activities, events and entertainment provided. A recently created cafe has provided an especially attractive area where residents can meet their relatives or other visitors for chats and refreshments. Long term and short stay residents are made equally welcome by the staff.

From the start of my mother's six-week stay in the home, it has been absolutely superb, professional, caring and understanding. All of the support staff from the catering to the nurses always had a smile on their face and were so good with our mother.
We would not hesitate to recommend the home and
will be bringing our mother back from time to time should we ever need to consider using you again. Thank you for your help, our family feel supported and confident that my mother was in safe caring hands.

When evaluating the 'Home', my wife and I were shown each of the public areas and introduced to the managers responsible. We both found this very useful as we were able to discuss my mother's particular requirements and on each occasion, we were re-assured. Viewing each of the rooms and meeting the
24-hour nursing staff gave us further reassurance and peace of mind. When we collected mum from the home, all she talked about was the lovely staff and food and when would she be able to return...That says it all.

Mum is really enjoying the kind, caring atmosphere here at Avon Cliff. She likes the trips organised on the mini-bus - new forest.
The activities organiser is a brilliant asset to the home and a credit, he has a great rapport with all residents.

The matron and carers are professional, personable, approachable and extremely friendly. They call me by my first name, my friend has been here two and a half years and could not be happier. The choice of food is extensive and the food cooked by the chefs is way above standard.

The above care home has just arranged a 90th birthday celebration for my sister who is currently a resident there. It was an excellent event, enjoyed by all in a very relaxed atmosphere. Organisation was excellent food and drink first class and the service impeccable. Everyone enjoyed the occasion and
went home very well satisfied. The care provided appears to be excellent in every aspect.

Excellent general care for my friend, who can be very difficult (dementia). Teething problems initially have been rectified. As always there can be communication problems with staff, there is a "communication" log but not always read, staff are busy. All this is improving any discussions always has

My recent stay at Avon Cliff, is the second time I have been cared for there, after orthopaedic surgery. On both occasions I have been looked after so well, my recovery has been rapid and successful. I have graded the care I received as 'Excellent' in all areas, as I could find no fault, anywhere, from
my welcome by the manager and reception staff, to the kindness of the carers and nurses, auxiliary staff, kitchen and dining room, and the activities organisers, my stay was both enjoyable and beneficial. My room and bed were very comfortable, no request was too difficult to execute, and the night staff were particularly helpful and reassuring. I have recommended Avon Cliff to friends, and should I have another period needing respite, I shall not hesitate to go there again.
