I viewed Badgeworth Court on an open day in April 2022 and felt that when the time came to move Mum into a care home, then it would suit her. Sadly, after an OT assessment, the decision to move her came quicker than we thought. Mum joined the Badgeworth Community 3 weeks ago, initially for respite care. We are much relieved that she is being cared for with kindness and compassion on a 24-hour basis. Although taking time to settle, which was to be expected, the staff have been so lovely. There have been plenty of activities on a daily basis for her to join in and mix with other people - she had been very lonely at home despite having familiarity around her. Always one for fresh air and getting out for a walk, the staff have been willing to take her outside on the days when I am not there. The activities coordinator works so hard to keep the residents occupied and involved - a big thanks to her from us! Nothing is too much trouble, and everyone is very approachable. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for taking the time to review your experience with Badgeworth Court. It is so good to see mum settle in so well, and we are so pleased you came along to the open day as these are such a good opportunity to see all that the home has to offer ready for when needed. The team are very committed to providing a variety of activities as well as regular fresh air walks.
Everyone is kind and helpful, entertainment is excellent, I can then choose from several different interests and meet other residents.
Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased you are happy with your room and lifestyle. The rooms at Badgeworth are beautiful and it is always lovely when residents personalise them. We aim to provide a varried activities programme so are delighted you are enjoying this.
We are delighted with the care given to my mother, who is 91 years old. She is well looked after, and all the carers/nurses seem so kind and compassionate. It is such a relief to feel she is safe and receiving such attentive care. Lots of activities are laid on each week, and bit by bit, the staff are managing to encourage mum to join in some activities after a long time of being withdrawn and isolated in her own home and then in a different home for a few months where no activities took place. The Activities Coordinator has been so responsive to Mum's needs and to us as relatives. We are particularly impressed with the proactive communication the home has with us, emailing the Weekly activity sheet, emails about what mum has joined in with, and even photos of her sent to us. They could not have been more helpful in ensuring we know how Mum is and enabling communication with her via Skype calls. On our visits, we are welcomed, made cups of tea, and nothing is too much trouble. Simply, thank you!
Thank you so much for your feedback. it is always so good to hear how our residents' quality of life improves once in Badgeworth Court. The team love to see residents taking part in activities, and we know how important updates are to families.
I cannot recommend Badgeworth Court highly enough. From my initial visit to look at the facilities to the nursing care my mum received, everyone we came into contact with was professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. In the short few weeks she stayed there following a stroke, nothing was too much trouble, and we were all made to feel part of the Badgeworth Court family. When Mum passed away, my sister and I were looked after, and everything was handled, sensitively and with great care, even down to the card everyone signed and sent to me afterwards. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Badgeworth Court. We are so pleased you have had such a positive experience even during a sad time. The team pride ourselves on being there for our families as well as the residents. It was a privilege to care for your mum. I will pass your comments on to the team; it will mean so much to them.
I am very pleased with Badgeworth Court. I have found the management to be excellent and the care to be very good. There have been challenging times over the past two years with Covid, which have been managed very well. The activities are excellent, with the leaders really having enthusiasm. Thank you, Badgeworth; you have improved the quality of life for my mum.
Thank you very much for taking the time to review Badgeworth Court. Barchester is all about Celebrating Life, so we are so pleased we have been able to play our part in improving the quality of life for your mum. Activities are very important for all our residents, not just group activities, but...
On day one, Badgeworth Court presented as a professional but friendly, happy and amazingly supportive team. Four months later, my opinion has not changed, and what has been an extremely difficult and emotional time for my mother has now resulted in a very positive outcome, thanks to everyone on the team. They could not have done more for my mother, plus helping her to settle in and make new friends was invaluable.
Thank you so much for your feedback on your whole experience over the past few months. It can take time for residents to settle, for so many, it is a big change. It is heartwarming once they do and are happy with us. We do everything we can to make it home from home. It is so positive mum has made friends, and the team will be so pleased to hear all your feedback.
My sister and I had a very good time during our week. All staff were very attentive to our needs throughout the day and evening. We enjoyed the variety of activities, and our visiting family were invited to take part.
Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so pleased you had such an enjoyable stay. We very much hope to see you again; it was a pleasure to meet you both. It is also good to hear you enjoyed the variety of activities we offer at Badgeworth Court.
When I go visit my gran, she was often dirty. One time at Christmas in the lockdown I went with my dad and we had to see her in the visitor hub where she was behind a screen. The carer brought her in and sat her down and left and I realised that my gran was wearing a blouse with no buttons on and she was uncovered and I could see her bra and her chest and all she kept doing was trying to cover herself up the whole Christmas visit. My dad was really upset and there was nothing we could do as she was behind the screen. I went to see her for my birthday in April 2022 and she was in a very dirty grey cardigan and skirt which did smell, she wore that for the whole of April and May 2022 and I saw her wearing it on Badgeworth Court social media page so everyone could see her in no new clothes. My gran was a very smart lady and always dressed up for Christmas and birthdays and occasions, she was never untidy. I have struggled to see her in this way.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review and we are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We appreciate all feedback provided and we understand your family have raised a further complaint that is currently being looked into. If you or your family members have any...
I am so grateful to the staff at Barchester Badgeworth Court Care Home for their attentiveness to my mother's care needs - not least for helping her to settle in. As my mother still has a lively mind, the imaginative activity programme is very welcome, as is the invitation to family to join in a number of events. The garden tea party for the Platinum Jubilee weekend had been beautifully planned, and it was so lovely to be able to share in something like this with mum in such a relaxed environment. She loved it - including the ice cream van that turned up part-way through!
Thank you very much for taking the time to feedback on your experience at Badgeworth Court. It is so important our residents have a positive experience from the day they arrive, and we do all we can to assist in the change from being at home. We love families attending events and are pleased so...
First impression of the home is excellent. Staff are friendly and cooperative. Management at all levels are approachable and helpful. However, it is obvious that there is a shortage of staff, consequently, this can cause problems.
Thank you for taking the time to review Badgeworth Court. We are very pleased to hear that the management team are approachable. Please do feel free to give your feedback at any time. We take pride in all we do and want to ensure the highest standards at all times. There are strict guidelines for...
Authoritarian management did not follow the terms of our contract, nor give us any option or notice of an impending room change. Bullying tactics and browbeating into being made to agree with their move. This would have meant to an upper floor in a locked suite. Social Services, Safeguarding, Deprivation of Liberty Services, and the Mental Health Care Home Team all became involved and assessed the situation, all agreed that her care could be managed on the ground floor as it stood. Despite this, the manager would not entertain alternative methods that social services mentioned and raised to solve the risk they had assessed and they stood by their decision that if our relative were to continue their care at Badgeworth they would have to move upstairs and be deprived of her liberty which could have a detrimental effect on her excellent current mental state, the best she has been in years. Mum’s notes show she had not showered since February 2022 and wore the same clothes for two months.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for our home. We are sorry to hear that your experience with Badgeworth Court Care Home did not meet your expectations. We appreciate what a difficult time it is for you and your family. We are aware concerns have been raised with the home and these...
I attended the Jubilee afternoon tea in the grounds. The team were wonderful; they all worked hard to involve the residents with tea and beautiful cakes and sandwiches. They also joined in the entertainment and included the residents. Above all, they were happy and cheerful. My sister is in the advanced stages of dementia; the staff treat her with love and respect and for her to join in with the afternoon was a tonic. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Badgeworth Court and our Jubilee event. We are delighted to be able to hold events for our residents and their families; it is so important for everyone to be there, and it sounds like you had quality time together enjoying the celebrations. The team...
A special thank you to the activities coordinator who had arranged a lovely Birthday treat for my Mum and her family today. A lot of thought had been put into making Mum’s day enjoyable, and we all enjoyed tea and a delicious cake prepared by the chef.
Thank you so much for the kind comments about Mum's Birthday celebration. We very much want to make every occasion special, and we love celebrating resident birthdays; it is also a lovely opportunity for the residents to get together for a celebration and pass on their good wishes.
I love getting photos of my brother from the activities department. They do a wonderful job with all the activities and programs they provide to all the residents.
Thank you.
Thank you very much for your kind comments. It is so good to hear all your contact with the home is so positive and that we are keeping you updated, it is very much our ethos as we know there are often relatives some distance away. We are always here to answer any questions and to support our families as much as our residents.
Having now been a resident for just over a year; improved by the cleanliness of the premises, the quality and quantity of food. The staff is ever helpful and considerate. An observation rather than criticism, one has difficulty understanding some of the staff. They naturally speak quickly, and having to wear a mask, creates difficulty at times. I consider myself fortunate to be here.
Amazing end of life care, all the staff supported my Mum through this difficult time. The staff cared so well for Dad, they made sure he was as comfortable as possible and so many little touches like they always combed his hair after his personal care. My Mum's photo was always positioned where he could see it. He would have the music he loved playing in his room. My Mum was able to visit the last few days which she was so grateful for. After his passing, my Mum visited and the staff had put his blanket over him which had our family photos on, this really pleased my Mum and was such a lovely touch. Thanks for the amazing care you all gave to Dad throughout his time with you. It was so hard being unable to visit due to C19, but the daily Skype and using the visiting suite helped and knowing you all care about him, put our minds at rest. The staff are so friendly and would always take time for a chat with us, or a wave or smile if they were busy with other residents.
Since coming to this care home last year I have been impressed by many things here. My room is lovely and all the staff and carers are so kind and nothing is too much to ask of them. Since the pandemic started and the dreadful winter weather followed, everyone has helped to keep all of our spirits up! The vaccination programme was very well organised for which I am very grateful.
From my visits to see Dad at Badgeworth Court, it is clear that the team in all departments at the home are friendly and take a real interest in supporting their residents. The activities team are always looking at what can be done to help spark the resident's interest and have previously asked me for photos etc to use at the men's club and for general activities. This all helps to help spark memories such as cars and cycling which Dad always loved to be involved with. It's comforting to know that your loved one is being cared for, especially at a time under lock-down when visits have to be restricted. The home introduced a safe indoor visiting environment and also offer family Skype calls. Sadly Dad's attention span is short so this style of visits don't always work too well. The fact that we can still see him remotely or through a perspex screen though is really appreciated and we're looking forward to warmer weather and the opportunity to meet him in the lovely gardens again.
My mum moved here after a fall and a spell in hospital last summer. I am very happy with the care she receives. The carers are lovely to Mum and the nurses and manager responsive to enquiries and any concerns. Covid has limited Mum’s options as has everyone else’s but the visits and Skype calls are welcomed. The staff make every effort to accommodate these. Mum has a lovely room looking out on a patio area and enjoys watching the birds and squirrels who come to visit her bird table. Hopefully, she can engage with other residents and activities more when Covid restrictions are lifted. In the current circumstances, we as a family are satisfied that she is safe and well cared for.
I/we can't fault the care my mother has received. The staff is so patient with her and her needs. The food choice and quality is excellent. On her birthday it was lovely to have lunch with her (three courses) in a special dining room decorated for her birthday with family members able to attend. The gardens around the care home are beautiful. The nursing, administration, and management team are very caring and always available. All in all, I would recommend Badgeworth Court.
