My mum has been resident at Badgeworth Court Care Home for about 2 months now. It's obviously a very difficult decision and transition when the need for full time care comes about, but I had researched and visited a number of homes in readiness for Mum's move. Whilst most homes seemed OK, I knew from the very first minute that the Badgeworth Court Care Home was the one. Every single member of staff was professional, courteous but quite obviously very caring; a place where I knew immediately my mum would be very well looked after in a clean, well organised and caring environment. I really cannot thank them or recommend their care highly enough. Outstanding!
Thank you.
My mum has been a resident living with dementia and has been in Badgeworth Court Care Home for six months now and is very settled and thriving. She is so well cared for and the all staff are amazing. She joins in the activities and is eating and enjoying the food. It is a pleasure to see her smile. Obviously, as a family we were worried about her being in care at first and whether she would like it. It was a difficult decision to make but are so glad we did. It puts our minds at rest knowing she is safe and much happier than being on her own. We would not hesitate in recommending Badgeworth Court. Thank you.
Thank you very much for taking the time to review Badgeworth Court, it is so wonderful to hear how your mum is thriving and is settled at Badgeworth Court. The team will be so pleased to hear this feedback.
The building, grounds and decor are lovely! Rooms small! Sadly after several complaints and meetings with the care home manager and regional manager about my aunt’s very poor basic personal care/hygiene, lack of mental and social interaction with residents, and inability to find staff to raise issues during visits-issues were never resolved so we moved my aunt to another care home! As an extended family, we have had three family members as residents in different Barchester care homes in South West UK and had to move all 3 to different care homes where all 3 received excellent personal/mental and emotional care to a high standard! Barchester homes look lovely ie buildings/grounds and decor but it all style over more important personal care and 1:1 resident interaction! Would never use Barchester care home again!
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, which sadly is much lower than we would expect to see. We believe your loved one left our home in the summer of 2022 and that your comments were raised as a family at the time with the management of the home. We are sorry to hear that you feel...
The Barchester Badgeworth Court Care Home team are looking after my mother beautifully. The level of activities are suitable and the surroundings cared for. I would have no hesitation in recommending their dementia care to others.
I visited my aunt in February and March 2023 and found her to be well cared for. There were lots of friendly and caring staff around all the time. My aunt has been on a trip out of the care home and she has been to a few events in the care home. The rest of my family are really impressed with how much attention my aunty gets at Barchester Badgeworth. We can visit whenever we like without having to make an appointment and we are always offered refreshments and made to feel welcome.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with beautiful comments with us.
I did not like the smell of urine that hits you as soon as you walked into Badgeworth Court. I felt as if Mum was 'talked at'. I never saw anyone have a meaningful conversation with her.
We hoped that if she enjoyed her stay there it might be somewhere she could return to when circumstances required.
Unfortunately, and I really don't like to criticise, it seemed when she was in there that there were such chronic staff shortages the home should not have been admitting any extra patients for respite care at all.
Badgeworth Court was like the Marie Celeste and finding anyone to talk to about our mother let alone look after her when she needed the toilet was nigh on impossible. Our private carer visited and washed and changed mum herself as no one had done it for several days and she was in the same clothes she had gone in wearing.
My brother visited nearly every day and barely saw a member of staff and security was very lax. Sadly we would not use Badgeworth Court again or recommend it.
Thank you for taking the time to add a review. At Barchester we value all feedback and comments made to us so we can continuously improve our service.
Your review rating is lower than we would expect and we are sorry for that. Your mother was very appreciative of the care she received...
I feel very at home in this nursing home and is wonderful to be able to walk in the fresh air and enjoy days outdoors on the lawn and the trees in the summertime. The staff are helpful and take the time to enjoy free time in the garden in the summertime.
Thank you for your valuable review and fantastic feedback. We are pleased to read that you enjoy our outdoor space. we will continue to provide the best possible quality of service.
On top of all his good care, they also have a worker that offers activities communally or one to one.
A varied and interesting programme of events. The trips are appreciated especially the shops and Christmas market visit. I enjoyed that. The staff are thoughtful and helpful. Its been a lovely Christmas period.
Thank you for submitting a review for Badgeworth Court Care Centre. We value the opinion you have given us.
I have lived here for sixteen months. I chose to live at Barchester Badgeworth Court Care Home after regularly visiting a previous resident and being impressed with her care. My care is excellent and meets my needs.
We are delighted to read your feedback.
We are extremely happy with dads care at Badgeworth Court Care Home. He has settled very well and all the carers and nurses are wonderful and do a great job. He is now joining in a lot more of the activities and really enjoys them and now made friends.
Thank you for your taking the time to review our service. We do appreciate your positive feedback and ongoing support.
When we could no longer manage to care for our mother at home, Badgeworth Court Care Home was able to help us at short notice. Although she only lived for another twelve days, she was cared for with kindness and efficiency. The nursing staff and management made us feel welcomed with friendliness. The food was excellent and visiting relaxed. I would not hesitate to recommend Badgeworth Court.
It was a real privilege to look after your Mum in her last days.
Thank you for your trust in our service.
During Covid, we had doubts about mum's hygiene and personal care. We repeatedly asked for her hair to be washed and cut, we signed care plan reviews stating we wanted more information regarding mum's washing and showering but still the information never came (despite a meeting with the current manager). This year we noticed at family visits that mum was wearing the same outfit and her hair remained unwashed. Her mental health began to suffer, but when she was placed on new medication, the results were mum being happy, engaging, and witty, and wanting to spend as much time outside in the fresh air as possible. No sooner had mums mental health improved significantly, we had a call from the manager to say we must come and choose a new room that day as mum was being moved upstairs to the locked dementia suite. We objected but were told it was happening anyway. We involved Social Services who agreed it was inappropriate, and this gave us time to move her to somewhere where she is thriving.
Thank you for taking the time as a family to leave us another review. We are really sorry your concerns with us have not been resolved following our meetings and formal responses provided. We're also sorry we couldn't offer reassurance and clarity on why we, and the external professionals...
Having just completed a visit from the USA, I found my family member in the memory care unit to be very well looked after. The care plan developed with the staff was well-implemented and was having a very positive impact: reduced falls, some weight gain, and general contentment. The facility, while not new, was clean, cheerful and seemed in good repair. The carers provided plenty of help and attention and both the nursing staff and administrators made themselves available to answer our questions. The residents that we saw were all clean and well-dressed. The food was very good and we were even allowed to have a private meal together one day. There were regular activities. The atmosphere was busy but under control and not chaotic. The staff do an excellent job and I left with a strongly positive opinion and gratitude for all they do.
Your feedback is very valuable to us.
Thank you for all your positive words.
Kind regards,
Anna.
My birthday party was lovely. It was organised very well. Thank you for my card, it was very nice of you all. It is very nice here and everyone is most caring and pleasant.
We are very pleased that our service is meeting your expectations.
My mother has been living at Badgeworht Court for over four years. My family and I have always been very impressed with the wonderful care she receives. The staff are exemplary and cannot do enough for her. They are all so friendly and caring and go about all their duties with a smile on their faces. A truly lovely team of people! This standard of care is extremely high, for which, we are extremely grateful.
It was a pleasure to read your comments and fantastic feedback.
Thank you for a credit of trust whilst choosing our service.
I am consistently impressed with the quality of care and the positive attitude of the staff at Badgeworth Court and their willingness to go the extra mile for my mother-in-law. It has made a great difference for both my mother-in-law, who was previously in a less favourable care home, and also for the family who can now be confident in the standard of care she is receiving.
We are thrilled to read that our service meets your expectations. We take great pride in our work, and our sincerest hope is that we help each of our residents accomplish their goals.
Thank you for your feedback.
The public areas on the ground floor are spectacular, but I feel it is for show. The rooms are ok, and the care is ok. Difficult for hard-of-hearing, elderly, dementia patients to understand various foreign accents. Attention to detail of care sometimes lacking, quality of food/service - only average to poor. Value for money poor.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our home and for the 4-star ratings on our facilities, activities, management and safety/security. All feedback is important to us here at Badgeworth Court, and we do reflect on feedback we are provided to look to improve our resident's and their...
I have been here approximately 2 years and there has been a general improvement in all departments, particularly the activities programme.
Thank you for taking the time to submit this review. It is our pleasure taking care of you.
