Mum was looked after very well and it felt like home very quickly. She loved the activities, especially the music, the pianist and dancing, and enjoyed pet visits. The staff were so patient and kind, and became her friends. She enjoyed the large garden, visiting the chickens and joining in with barbecues.
Family and friends were always made very welcome. Mum had a lovely bright sunny room overlooking the garden, and was treated with dignity and respect at all times.

My mum has been in Brockworth House for nearly two years now. She has advanced vascular dementia and could no longer cope at home. Getting her a place in Brockworth House was such a relief. We no longer had to worry about mum, we knew that she was surrounded by caring people and was safe and secure.
Brockworth House is not a "warehouse " where old people are sent to be forgotten, it is a community which respects its residents and tries to give them a stimulating and interesting life. The way that the home has coped over the coronavirus issue has been an inspiration to my sister and I, as we (of course) have been unable to visit her for the last few months.

I honestly couldn’t have found a better dementia nursing care home for my husband. Brockworth House is full of wonderful, thoughtful and caring people that make a difference every single day. During lockdown they have made sure that loved ones have stayed well informed with regular updates and photos.
My husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the young age of 53. After caring for him at home he finally attended the care home at the age of 59. It was hard to find somewhere that would suit his needs as a younger dementia sufferer. From the moment I walked into Brockworth House. There was such a friendly welcoming feel to the place, I knew I could trust them with my precious husband. I cannot thank them enough for the care and support they continue to provide for not only my husband but for me too.

My wife moved into Brockworth House in May 2016 having been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s she was 62 years of age. Initially she she developed the condition known as pacing, she literally did not stop, walking round and round the home and the grounds. It was very challenging for the staff but
they handled it brilliantly. Later, just like someone flicked a switch, she stopped pacing and quickly became immobile. She retreated to a wheel chair and became totally dependent on the Carers to do everything for her. Her speech had left her by then and thereafter she spent much of her time asleep. This presented further challenges but the activities team were simply brilliant. Sadly, during this virus period my wife passed away. We shall never forget and will be eternally grateful for the love and care she received at Brockworth House.

As soon as you step inside Brockworth House, you feel the kind, cheerful vibe. As a friend or relative, from the first visit you know for sure that this is a good place, a kind place, an expertly-run place, where residents' well-being is at the heart of everything. The residents are looked after so
kindly and gently and with loving care and patient good humour by the wonderful staff. The imagination and care taken in identifying and appealing to residents' individual interests and providing entertainment and stimulation is also so valuable, and the food is excellent too. I am grateful to Brockworth House for being such a lovely place for my Father-in-Law to live.

My husband had been living at Brockworth House for 3 3/4 years. He suffered from early-onset dementia and was admitted when he was only 62 yrs old. His condition deteriorated quickly and a couple of months after he moved in he was no longer able to speak. It was impossible for him to communicate but
the staff quickly found a way of understanding and anticipating his needs. I have always found the staff team at Brockworth to be highly professional but more importantly warm and loving and committed to enabling their residents to live with the maximum level of dignity possible. They always tried to find ways of making my husband join in and be part of the "family" and they never stopped trying. The staff team are cohesive and supportive and always welcoming of the families any time of day or night which was fantastic. He sadly died a few days before Christmas and they stayed with him right up until the end. I have so much respect for the job they do in very difficult circumstances.

My mother moved in November, form hospital, where she had been for 4 months. Staff have done everything possible to help her settle in, treating her with such kindness and respect. Nothing has been too much trouble. I haven't seen more genuine kindness and caring anywhere and I visited a lot of care
homes! Everything has been done to help myself and my sister through this difficult transition. Everyone is happy to talk anytime about any concerns. I would have no hesitation in recommending Brockworth to anyone looking for dementia care for their loved one.

Mum has only been in the home for three weeks but I have been so impressed with the care and kindness she has received. We have been kept updated on her condition and have had a meeting with her new GP to discuss her future care plans. Nothing is too much trouble for the team and I feel safe leaving
my Mum in their care.

I have been visiting my brother twice weekly for over 18 months and the standard of care is exceptional. Staff are always smiling and go out of their way to answer any questions I may have. My brother is nearly always in a "happy place" on each visit and is always clean.

My Dad moved to Brockworth House from another care home almost two years ago because they were no longer able to provide his dementia care needs.
Since being at Brockworth you'd think that his condition has improved! I know that's not really possible, but with the right care, given the right activities
(music, music and music!), in the right environment, done by wonderful people who seemingly have infinite patience and kindness, he genuinely is in a far better condition than before.
He really seems to be enjoying himself, which is amazing, and wonderful.
Thank you so much everybody at Brockworth House.

My mum was only at Brockworth House for the last 2 weeks of her life. I was so impressed, not only by the kindness and care for my mum but also by the support for me as I visited daily. My very first phone call was answered by such a kind, friendly voice, which was so reassuring at a very stressful
time. The staff showed respect for each other; I never heard them talk negatively about the home or other staff, which helped to create a warm, family feel. Even when Mum died there were hugs and cups of tea for me and no pressure to remove her belongings quickly. One of the reasons I chose the home was due to the vision of care on their website - it sounded too good to be true but it actually turned out to be completely genuine. The vision and passion for excellence felt the same right from the management and office staff through to the nursing staff, carers and cleaners. I would sincerely recommend Brockworth House and feel so grateful that I found such a place.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.506)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.506) out of 10 for Brockworth House Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.731 for Brockworth House Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (96 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 130 Ratings = 4.731
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.775 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brockworth House Care Centre is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11, which has been reached with 11 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I joined the team nearly four and a half years ago, just before the first year of COVID. It was certainly an unusual and challenging time to start a new role, but it also made me appreciate the importance of connection and community even more.
Before that, I spent many years working in retail, which taught me a lot about people, patience, and teamwork. I also took some time away from work to raise my son — a chapter of my life that I’ll always treasure. Coming back into the workplace, especially into a role where I can make a difference each day, has been incredibly rewarding.
