Millbrook Lodge

We were very nervous when our mum came from hospital. Our mum had always said she didn't want to go into care. The only thing we can say is that the staff are phenomenal. The most amazing carers. We are very sorry she's leaving her excellent team.

I've always found the carers and staff extremely friendly and helpful.

I find Millbrook Lodge to be the best place for my wife otherwise I would not have left her in your care for the last 7 years.

Mum first went into Millbrook Lodge for 2 weeks while I went on holiday, when I came back she didn't want to go back to her home and luckily they had a space and she stayed! The staff are always happy and treat Mum with respect. She fell out of bed once in the middle of the night and they rang me immediately to let me know and kept me updated. Unfortunately, COVID affected the activities and there aren't as many as before, but hopefully, they will soon be back as before. Mum wouldn't want to go anywhere else!

Always been helpful and informative, especially in these difficult times. Been kept up to day with progress.

Since my husband arrived at Millbrook Lodge, he has been well cared for and settled in really well. He is happy - most importantly - and content. All the staff are so kind to him and when I visit I am always made welcome. I know it would be too difficult for me to care for my husband at home now so his going to Millbrook Lodge has been the best decision for him and me.

The carers have all been happy and friendly and willing to find out the answers to the questions I had to ask.

Facilities are good. Communication with family could be a bit better, especially relating to visits.

The atmosphere is friendly and the management are approachable and helpful.

This review concerns my mum's care over the past 5 months. Following a fall her whole life changed from being very independent within the care home setting to becoming totally reliant on staff for all aspects of daily care. The journey has been a difficult one but the care the staff have shown to both my mum and me has been wonderful. She recently celebrated her 101st birthday and, although bed bound, the staff really went the extra mile.

However, it had become apparent they have lost the personal care they used to have with a severe lack of compassion and thoughts to the residents. With a lack of empathy and clarity in communication through the outbreak.

All is good for me.

I find this home caring, professional, warm, supportive, kind and considerate of all my mum's needs. I would highly recommend.

I can rarely see a doctor and I'm unable to see a dentist or an optician.

Life is different with 4 months in isolation. Just for the last couple of weeks we can have one member of the family at a time for 15 minutes by appointment out in the garden. It's not the same here.

I have only been a resident since March 2020. I have settled well enough and find the carers extremely helpful and so kind when I feel I need some sympathy. Not often though. When things are normal again, I look forward to visits to church, the library and just being out! I love walking in our gardens and now have a flower bed - of my own! I am very lucky to be still mobile (with a trolley) and at present require little help.

Having been here for almost two years now I have felt happy and settled.

We would highly recommend Millbrook Lodge to anyone needing high standard care for a relative.

We would like to thank the carers in Birdlip at Millbrook Lodge for the wonderful care that they gave my grandad. For all the love, laughter, friendship and always being there when Grandad needed a shoulder to cry on. Also, I cannot thank you enough for being so kind to me and my family every time we visited. You always made us feel very welcome and helped us through the hard times. Nothing was ever too much trouble. I would recommend Millbrook Lodge to anyone.
