Newlands of Stow

After a hip operation I have spent two of rest and recuperation in this lovely care home. I have been looked after by a dedicated staff of nurses, welfare people and leave after two weeks walking unaided and fully rested.

My mother came to Newlands of Stow to convalesce following a fall in which she broke a leg. She suffers from hallucinations which are always very negative. The staff at Newlands looked after Mum very well and seemed to understand the issues that she was experiencing. The accommodation and facilities are excellent. At times, I felt that there was not great communication between teams, but I think that was more my fault for not knowing which people to inform (of trips out etc). However, I would certainly say that your people and premises are first class and would be happy to recommend.

I would certainly return to Newlands .

I was at Newlands for 10 days respite after major surgery. Everyone very welcoming. Food excellent. They are upgrading few rooms, but they are airy and a good size. The 2 dining room set which is very good. Staff all good, possibly more could be on during the night, all very good carers and attentive nurses. Mobility opportunities adequate and excellent physio who visits 3 times a week.

Writing as Mums Daughter and also representing our Family who have visited and would and do echo my heartfelt thanks and appreciation of the very highest standards of care and the highest quality of attention and professionalism and respect Any Family could dream of for their elderly/infirm Relative - truly Newlands consistently have delivered care that I believe couldn't possibly be improved upon - the Manager is an absolutely exceptional lady who will give her word to you that the care of your family member is of the utmost concern to herself and her wonderful team who are angels - not a vague promise but a transparent truth - from Jacqueline and my Family

All the staff at Newlands have given me endless kindness and support. Nothing is too much trouble. If anything is not to your liking or your have special needs, the staff will do everything they can to fulfill your wishes. The quality and presentation of the food is superb. I have no hesitation in recommending Newlands to anyone who wants the best.

From the moment my husband arrived at Newlands for respite care, the staff were welcoming, attentive and incredibly supportive. His needs had increased following a long hospital stay, but the team made sure he was well cared for every step of way. Over the seven weeks he spent there, we saw real improvements in his mood, appetite and mobility. He especially enjoyed the meals, often dining with other residents in the communal dining room, enjoying events, especially the music ones. One member of staff built a strong rapport with my husband which made a meaningful difference to his experience. I would highly recommend Newlands to anyone in need of respite care. The staff go above and beyond to provide comfort, dignity and a true sense of community.

My mother, who has advanced Parkinson's Disease, stayed at Newlands for a week over Christmas. When the rest of her family were staying locally. This enabled Mum to join in a family fun but remain safe. Newlands was fantastic from start to finish. The wonderful team of carers could have not done more to ensure that Mum had a happy stay. The care was exceptional, so attentive and kind. The setting is beautiful - the view from her bedroom was lovely! Newlands does feel like a home from home.

A lot of events, social events, outings all helped. The regular visits from penguins and donkeys and other care animals were very special.

My mother has lived in an assisted living apartment in Newlands for three years now, and has been taken care of by all the staff with exceptional professionalism, kindness, humour and warmth. As her needs have increased, the extra medical care and attention she receives has been excellent. Newlands feels like a big trustworthy family, not a conventional care home, and my Mother feels so much less vulnerable for it.

When his health deteriorated the care support was excellent. The staff were so respectful, caring and kind; I can't recommend Newlands highly enough!

I was looked after very well at Newlands of Stow. The staff were always kind and helpful. Excellent food, always so nicely presented. Fun activities which we were encourage to join in with.

My relative was a resident in Newlands of Stow from 30/04/2021 until she passed on 04/02/2023. We highly recommend Newlands of Stow as it is managed and run to the highest of standards - from the ambience of the home, the decor and high-quality furnishings, catering with daily menus and personal and medical care and support services. The staff are well qualified, efficient and caring. Shortly after moving to Newlands my relative felt very much at home and was happy, confident and reassured by the care she received. Visiting was also a pleasure as we were warmly welcomed and well-treated.

I enjoyed my experience at Newlands (rehabilitation for one week after a hip replacement) very much, especially enjoyed taking my lunch outside and being able to experience the tranquil view and lovely gardens, which are perfectly set out to provide a little exercise for rehabilitation. The drawing room and dining room conservatory are lovely rooms. Thank you.

Newlands provided my mother with wonderful and happy respite stays and gave me the peace of mind and reassurance that she was being cared for properly. She was shown kindness and treated with dignity by the whole wonderful team and I cannot recommend Newlands highly enough.

My husband's care during the last 11-weeks of his life was excellent. Although his needs were complex, every attempt was made to deal with them, and my only complaint would be that his nutritional needs could have been addressed with a bit more care and initiative. Medically, on the other hand, we were involved every step of the way.

Newlands have looked after my mother who was fairly tricky with amazing patience. The dignity and peacefulness that they gave her when she was dying was fantastic. The manager and her team looked after us during her death with such care and helpfulness. We were looked after and kept informed all the way through. Thank you.
