The entire team demonstrated great professionalism and compassion in every respect of care and communication with our family.
They made a challenging time more bearable and we are extremely grateful to them all.
Outstanding home, staff and care, second to none.
I felt very very well cared for by the wonderful manager and her staff. My needs were very well assessed and my respite care needs beautifully met. Particular mention to the manager who is wonderful and nursing care from staff, steady and very reliable, stunningly kind and highly professional care. The care team is excellent - always ahead of the game and very supportive. The ladies downstairs are a delight and a lighthearted hoot.
I will definitely be using Newlands again if there is a room free as I know my mum will so look forward to another stay here in the future. Thank you.
After a fall where my friend broke her hip and had to go into hospital, she received immediate attention by staff who called for an ambulance. Three weeks later, after a very poorly handled discharge, they had to nurse my friend round the clock to rehydrate her and feed her. Their care and dedication is obvious and nothing is too much trouble or rushed. Carers all seem very patient, caring and kind. I am sure they will get my friend on her feet once again.
Upon her admittance, my mother was very ill. Throughout her stay, all staff were very kind, considerate and caring. Nothing was ever too much trouble. I could not praise this care home too highly, it was excellent.
From the outset, my experience has been all positive in spite of sensitive issues with my companion's family. They are professional, helpful, intelligent and listen to my companions opinions with regarding his situation. Dignity and respect are paramount when dealing with residents and positive stimulation is extremely important. this is a superior care home with beautiful gardens and building. It has a calm ambience and their best asset is their wonderful staff, to whom I give my heartfelt thanks.
My father moved to Newlands in November last year and died there early October this year. A week before he died, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and we and he were very fortunate in that he was able to stay in his own room where his end of life care was most beautifully and sensitively managed, by the staff who he had come to know and trust. He did not enjoy the experience of giving up his independence to move to a home, and at times he could be difficult and demanding, but his final care was exemplary and done with so much warmth and respect.
My father was admitted to the home last November. He was not happy about having to leave his own home and as a result he was little challenging to care for. Over the months his health deteriorated and all the care staff always treated him with respect and cheerfulness. Over the months he got to know and rely on many of the carers, he became interested in them and their lives. It was wonderful that at the end of his life the carers who he grew to know were there in his final days. They nursed him with respect and love and as a result he had a peaceful and dignified death.
