Northleach Court Care Home offers a high standard of very comfortable 'home from home' accommodation and great care for up to 40 elderly residents.

Northleach Court specialises in nursing and residential care, whilst offering the highest levels of quality support for all forms of dementia and Alzheimer's. Services are provided by a close-knit team of nurses and highly qualified care professionals in a comfortable, welcoming and friendly environment, making it the ideal choice for those looking for care homes in Gloucestershire.

Northleach Court is a stunning Grade II listed building located on the high street of Northleach; a beautiful Cotswold town tucked away amidst picturesque rolling hills within easy access to the A40. The home is surrounded by buildings of significant architectural interest most built out of lovely Cotswold stone making it a lovely place to visit and relax.

The nursing home in Gloucestershire is family-owned and run and has a nurse on duty 24*7. It can also accommodate those families currently looking for residential care (rather than nursing) in Gloucestershire, safe in the knowledge that residents don’t need to move home in the future if their needs become more complex.

Northleach Court also offers privately funded dementia care and the team have a deep understanding of the challenges that come with living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. They are aware of the effects it can have on both residents and their families, and each of the friendly and experienced dementia care team works closely alongside residents and their families to provide help and support.

For those who need short-term support, respite services are available whether it’s emergency respite care for the elderly, overnight respite, weekend respite care or more long-term respite.

Review from Rob P (Son of Resident) published on 25 February 2019 Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother suffers from Alzheimer’s and therefore has needed constant care for a few years now, we as a family feel lucky that Northleach Court provides a high level of care for her at a location not too far from where she previously lived. She has been a resident for around 4 years now and the staff
have always been excellent with her and she always seems relaxed in her surroundings when we visit. Recently we were advised that the ownership of the home has changed and obviously we were concerned about this, in case it meant changes of staff etc. However, on our last visit earlier this week we found that some refurbishment work is taking place, with new carpets in the communal areas and bedrooms beginning to be done up, we were shown a newly refurbished room which looked fantastic. The staff were also very positive about the new owners, so it all looks good for the future and Mum can stay where she feels safe and settled.
Massive thanks to all the staff there.
Reply from Geoff Butcher, Owner at Northleach Court Care HomeThank you very much for your kind review - we intend to fully refurbish the whole of Northleach and as soon as we have architect's drawings, we will share our plans with residents and relatives. It will of course not be overnight but will be done in phases over a 12-15 month period. Thank you again for your review.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.767) out of 10 for Northleach Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.767 for Northleach Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (184 Excellents x 5) + (42 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 232 Ratings = 4.767
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Northleach Court Care Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
