Resthaven Care Home

I found Resthaven at Pitchcomb an ideal situation for my mother-in-law. Most of my interaction have been met with compassionate and helpful responses from all staff.

Staff are always friendly and welcoming. The care of my mother over time has been exceptional and staff are always willing to update me regarding mum's well-being when visiting is not possible. The environment is well maintained and is a pleasure to visit.

Everyone is so friendly and efficient.

Very pleased with the healthcare given to my mother. Not able to comment on activities with great authority, but my belief is that they could be improved. Staff are great! The grounds, facilities and rooms are great! Down points: front door and phones are often not answered quickly and phone transfer is poor. There appears to be no adequate phone transfer to upper floors. Lady in reception is extremely pleasant, as are the nurses.

Staff provide a good level of care and communication as well as complying with government Covid-19 protocols.

Despite a very difficult year with the pandemic, the staff at Resthaven have maintained a homely atmosphere, and have cared for my mother like a family and have kept her safe.

Always such helpful staff and always feel welcome even in these challenging time. My dad has received wonderful care and I have seen first hand the rapport that staff have taken the time to build with him. Staff have gone out of their way to make our family feel supported during my dad's stay at Resthaven.

Resthaven is a friendly care home in a beautiful setting. The staff are kind, knowledgable, caring and considerate. The nursing care is good and we are happy with the care that is taken over our mother's health and well-being. They have handled the pandemic brilliantly, and we would recommend them. It feels like a family environment.

Staff generally able to update me on Mum's condition because all well informed and attentive - whilst I have been unable to visit.

My mum had called Resthaven her 'home' since May 2018. When it came to the end of her life, the staff went above and beyond to facilitate safe family bedside visits to allow us to say our goodbyes. The care my mum received was the best, she was always treated with dignity, care and love. Thank you staff at Resthaven, each and every one of you are amazing.

With regards to laundry, we felt Resthaven did not do enough to ensure the correct laundry was returned to our family member. The result being items were lost and also gaining other patients clothes. But, the care was excellent!

We all wished my father had longer in their exceptional care.

The very good care home my mother was living in was going to be closed, an awful situation for any family, but even more difficult when you are abroad. Resthaven was recommended to me and everything had to be sorted in the short time I was in the UK, and via telephone and email when I left. The manager could n't have been more helpful and when I returned to the UK I was able to move Mum into a lovely room with all her personal belongings already in place to help her feel at home. I stayed in the UK while Mum settled in and I was very impressed with the care and atmosphere at Resthaven. Mum has settled in very happily and regularly tells me how lovely it is. I get regular feedback from the care staff and I can skype with Mum. I am very happy that Mum lives at Resthaven.

Our mother has resided at Resthaven since March 2019. She has a beautiful room which the staff were happy for us to furnish with her own furniture, which as she suffers with Alzheimer's/dementia, has greatly helped her transition. The manager and all her staff have been amazing, so caring, professional and really create a wonderful environment.

Thank you, Resthaven, your care and kindness gave our mother a comfortable and peaceful last few weeks of her long and happy life.

The care and the support that my wife receives is excellent.

My family and I have encountered nothing but kindness, helpfulness and cheerfulness in all the staff. Any problems have been addressed and our visitors have commented on the high standard of care given. Food is good. It is just a pity that the evening meal is quite so early, but staff have been willing to save a sandwich for my husband to have later when he has more of an appetite to eat. Keep up the good work!
