Resthaven Care Home

Resthaven was my wish come true. To find a place to live your last few months with care, kindness and love given by the wonderful staff and to see how happy my father-in-law was, I must have been blessed finding Resthaven. I shall never forget the wonderful care and love they showed to an old man of ninety years. Resthaven has made it possible for my father-in-law to leave us with happiness in his heart. Thank you all.

Resthaven is a good care home in a beautiful setting. The staff are generally very caring and supportive. The food is varied, of good quality and well presented. Mum is treated with respect and dignity by all members of the team.

With Mum's memory issues, I have found the nursing and care staff extremely patient and kind and warm in their relating to Mum. Her own room is kept very nice and has a lovely view across the Slad Valley.

My Mum has only been a resident for a few months and my family and I have always found the staff keen to help with any queries we have, and most important of all, kind and caring to whatever my Mum needs. She is well cared for by all, from the manager and all care staff who have spent time to get to know her and be supportive to her and us even when there have been challenges.

My father came to Resthaven for the end of life care from the hospital, from the moment he arrived to his death we as a family were relieved and felt supported. Dad said care was always of the best. From the manager and her staff to the quality of the food to the atmosphere, activities, nursing care and ambience. Resthaven really is a wonderful place. It is a family atmosphere with people who really care about everyone there. Contact, as we live away, was excellent.

My mother moved to Resthaven from another care home last year. It is amazing how different care homes vary. It is nothing to do with cost but with the quality of management and staff. We were extremely happy with the care mum got at Resthaven. Even mum said 'I am quite happy here' this was a ringing endorsement as far as Mum is concerned. I would highly recommend this wonderful home to everyone.

Resthaven has provided us with peace of mind. I know we will look back in the years to come and gain satisfaction from knowing that my Mum and Dad were so well looked after in the latest stages of their lives.

Since my mother first went into Resthaven in December 2016, her care has been exemplary and the excellent staff have ensured that she is always looked after to the best of their ability. The surroundings could not be better and the home itself is clean and comfortable with all the amenities that one would expect. I am very pleased that we chose Resthaven and would happily recommend it to others in the same situation.

I couldn't recommend Resthaven more strongly. Since my grandma became a resident my family has had great comfort in knowing she is receiving the highest level of care.

Since the new manager has come in there has been an all round improvement within the home. Also, the new activities coordinator and assistant have both made a big impact on this area.

I am being well looked after. The staff are friendly and kind. Care is taken over my diet and the food is enjoyable. The accommodation is well cleaned and all my laundry is done for me. I;m fetched and taken to the hairdresser who is very good. I think Resthaven is a good place to be and I'm grateful to my daughter for finding such a pleasant home for me to live in. I have no complaints. People are very kind. I can't imagine anywhere else would be any better.

Having had a bad experience of care provided at home, we were rather apprehensive of the move to Resthaven. However, on arrival, we were immediately welcomed into the Resthaven family and made to feel at home. The staff are kind, caring, compassionate and dedicated to providing the best possible care for the residents I wouldn't want my mum cared for anywhere else.

All the care and nursing staff are very supportive and caring.

He has his dignity which is the most important thing for me to have peace of mind about where he is. I would happily recommend Resthaven to friends and family.

It was my first stay in a care home and i was very pleased with the staff, the room, the excellent views and atmosphere. I felt very cared for. I particularly enjoyed the entertainment lady. May thanks and I will come again if the need arises. Again thank you.

I self referred myself for two weeks respite care. During my time the care staff were very considerate, caring, attentive and always friendly. Other staff were helpful and did all possible to make my stay enjoyable.

My mother went to Resthaven home in 2013 with Alzheimers and very shortly after arriving there became mobile. She was cared for very well and the carers and other staff put in a lot of effort to settle her in. My mother has been treated with utmost respect and kept her dignity at all times. She passed away yesterday 10/12/15 and her care during the sad day was excellent making it easier for me and my sister and she passed away peacefully. Nurses and carers that day were as always brilliant.

My mother is 95 years old and is being well looked after by the carers and nursing staff. The premises are clean and tidy and always welcoming. Activities are good and although at her age she cannot participate in some she seems to enjoy being there. Musical and other special events such as fireworks are particularly liked. Trips out such as mystery tours and visits to restaurants make a welcome change.

Resthaven is a kind and homely place. The staff are helpful, respectful and considerate. The home is warm and clean.
