Resthaven offers 24 hours of residential and nursing care set amidst some of the finest countryside in Gloucestershire with panoramic views over the Painswick valley.

The care is nurse-led 24 hours a day and is unusual in the high level of qualified nurses (including mental health nurses) that are on every shift. The team has deep knowledge and understanding of dementia care and end of life care.

Each resident has a named nurse and carer who work closely with residents and families to create a person centred plan of care which is constantly reviewed. The home works closely with a multi-disciplinary team of external health professionals including doctors, specialist nurses and the NHS rapid response team to ensure every resident’s care needs are met and unnecessary hospital admissions are avoided.

Resthaven is fully accessible. All rooms have washing facilities and some include ensuite facilities or wet rooms. Residents are welcome to add furnishings and personal belongings to make their room their own.

The home offers a variety of communal areas: lounges, dining area conservatory and a chapel, with many areas enjoying the panoramic views. The tranquil grounds are a haven for wildlife and have the pleasure of watching the rich birdlife, rabbits, foxes and even deer from the home. The patios are fully accessible and there are plenty of paths to explore.

The catering team provide fresh, nutritious home cooked food and are skilled at adapting the menu for different dietary requirements and for those with swallowing difficulties.

The activities team work both individually and in groups to offer varied, stimulating and enriching activities which include visiting musicians and entertainers, arts & crafts, gardening, games, gentle exercise and trips out.

Mum and Dad have been residents for almost two years. We have been extremely happy with the home, which is very welcoming and caring. All the staff are exceptionally hardworking and caring.
The respect they show and the care they have provided to my Mum and Dad has been faultless. The home has coped
very well with the complex health needs of both Mum and Dad. We have also found the present Manager to be very approachable and supportive.
Sadly my Dad passed away over the Christmas period. In his last days the staff provided a praiseworthy level of support, care, dignity and sympathy. We are very grateful for this, as obviously, this was a distressing time for the family.
During and since his passing the sensitivity and support of the staff has meant so much to us.
Resthaven has provided us with peace of mind. I know we will look back in the years to come and gain satisfaction from knowing that my Mum and Dad were so well looked after in the latest stages of their lives.

Since my mother first went into Resthaven in December 2016, her care has been exemplary and the excellent staff have ensured that she is always looked after to the best of their ability. The surroundings could not be better and the home itself is clean and comfortable with all the amenities that one
would expect. I am very pleased that we chose Resthaven and would happily recommend it to others in the same situation.

I couldn't recommend Resthaven more strongly. Since my grandma became a resident my family has had great comfort in knowing she is receiving the highest level of care.

If you can't be in your own home, then Resthaven provides the next best option. A breath of 'fresh air' for my mum, my sister and myself.
Caring, considerate with an added spark of fun at what is a difficult time for a lot of families. A wonderful place both inside and out.

I am being well looked after. The staff are friendly and kind. Care is taken over my diet and the food is enjoyable. The accommodation is well cleaned and all my laundry is done for me. I;m fetched and taken to the hairdresser who is very good. I think Resthaven is a good place to be and I'm grateful
to my daughter for finding such a pleasant home for me to live in. I have no complaints. People are very kind. I can't imagine anywhere else would be any better.

Having had a bad experience of care provided at home, we were rather apprehensive of the move to Resthaven. However, on arrival, we were immediately welcomed into the Resthaven family and made to feel at home. The staff are kind, caring, compassionate and dedicated to providing the best possible care
for the residents I wouldn't want my mum cared for anywhere else.

My father receives the best care possible. There is not one member of staff that I don't get on with. The food is excellent and the whole place is spotless. It's a home from home - his room is kept very clean and he is kept very clean.
He has his dignity which is the most important thing for me to
have peace of mind about where he is. I would happily recommend Resthaven to friends and family.

I self referred myself for two weeks respite care. During my time the care staff were very considerate, caring, attentive and always friendly. Other staff were helpful and did all possible to make my stay enjoyable.

My mother went to Resthaven home in 2013 with Alzheimers and very shortly after arriving there became mobile. She was cared for very well and the carers and other staff put in a lot of effort to settle her in. My mother has been treated with utmost respect and kept her dignity at all times. She passed
away yesterday 10/12/15 and her care during the sad day was excellent making it easier for me and my sister and she passed away peacefully. Nurses and carers that day were as always brilliant.

My mother is 95 years old and is being well looked after by the carers and nursing staff. The premises are clean and tidy and always welcoming. Activities are good and although at her age she cannot participate in some she seems to enjoy being there. Musical and other special events such as fireworks
are particularly liked. Trips out such as mystery tours and visits to restaurants make a welcome change.

Resthaven have been very kind, caring and helpful in the transition of my dad. My mum died at the beginning of July and they have helped all of us to come to terms with our loss. Dad has settled in well and the carers encourage him to partake and he has begun to come out of himself little by little.

A small friendly and efficiently run care home. Very friendly staff. Clean tidy rooms with privacy respected. 24 hour care with very qualified nursing staff. Family and relatives made to feel welcome and kept well informed. Odd nightly problems sometimes as you always get anywhere.
