Clare Hall Nursing Home can be found in the peaceful Somerset village of Ston Easton, which is approximately 11 miles south-west of Bath and 7 miles northeast of Wells, and has an interesting history before the home was converted into a nursing home in 1986.

Clare Hall is a homely, intimate home with 43 single rooms and 4 rooms specifically designed for couples, 26 of these rooms have en suite toilet and/or wet room.

The home boasts of two lounges, a large conservatory and a grand dining room.

Clare Hall is surrounded by impressive and extensive well-maintained grounds that are accessible to the residents. There is a water feature, a sensory garden and a greenhouse for any green-fingered residents. The majority of the well-appointed rooms overlook this magnificent view.

There are activities arranged daily for residents to enjoy in the communal lounge, and this is also a place residents can catch up with family and friends.

Clare Hall has the ability to care for people both under and over the age of 65 who have general residential, nursing or complex nursing care needs. Whether looking for short term or long term care, Clare Hall has the flexibility to accommodate for both.

The Chef creates a wide range of balanced, nutritious dishes, prepared daily using only the freshest produce. Residents can choose to eat in the dining room, or their rooms.

Clare Hall has wifi signal throughout the home which can be accessed by the residents who would like to ‘browse the internet’, be active on social media or communicate with their loved ones via video call.

My wife passed away in February 2022 having been a resident in Clare Hall Nursing Home got more than nine years.
During these years she always received the best possible care. All of the staff have been friendly, kind and considerate to both her and myself.

My grandmother was not cared for at all, when she went in June 2019 due to her dementia it was lovely but around the start of Covid, it went downhill. They're most staff lack a good amount of understanding of English. She had a fall and resulted in her breaking her hip. Since breaking her hip she had
a very rapid decline in health and led to her death and I feel this is the major cause of her death. They didn't inform us she was none verbal in March 2021. Recently tablets were given to her and were recorded they were swallowed however the nurses the next morning found them in her mouth so this was very casually told to us, which I find disgusting as she could have choked on these.
My grandmother passed away on the 5th October 2021 and I came to collect her belongings the following day and expressed I wanted to sort these myself and told me this was okay. When I arrived I found her items just dumped in black bags in reception.

My Nan has been staying at this home for a fair few months now. At first, it seemed nice, well looked after and catered for. But that soon went downhill very quickly. My Nan has taken a dive with her health, not just because of the COVID-19 but because of the lack of care that she has received. I know
that this review I am posting will probably be taken down because they don't like the outcome of my remarks, but nevertheless, she has been left without any fluid chart or paperwork about the falls that she has had. They tell us that they have given her the care that she needs but has still not been fed for a week or fluids for a few days. They have not been creaming her as they should be twice a week or given any other supplements for her food intake. If this is happening to her I worry for the other residents in their care. I have worked in a nursing home for years. I know what they are supposed to do and this is not it. What they are doing is dangerous.

This particular matter was looked at by the local safeguarding team, who - at the outset - considered the claim unsubstantiated and therefore this did not progress to a further section 42 enquiry. Your personal conduct has been questionable throughout which is not supported. As a transparent organisation, we will not attempt to remove your review. We wish you all the very best.

We are so grateful for the care and kindness of all the staff at Clare Hall. I would highly recommend it to anyone. My mother's room was spacious, light and nicely furnished. Everywhere, both rooms and public spaces, are clean and attractive - homely too. We felt confident that she was safe and well

I can't praise Clare Hall enough. All levels of the staff team show empathy, patience, kindness and understanding with my mother who has dementia. Staff are always happy which reflects on mum as they always appear to have a good rapport between them. There's a wide range of activities, handicrafts,
quizzes, music etc, coffee mornings and opportunities to go to coffee mornings at the village hall or church. Mum rarely joins in but it is satisfying to know the option is there. There's a varied menu and meals are well presented and appetising with a variety of vegetables. I am always informed of any changes or concerns in mum's health and well-being etc. We are both very happy.

The staff of Clare Hall do a wonderful job of looking after my mother who remains very happy and settled. I am glad she now spends more time in the middle lounge and joins in with the well-planned activities. The Christmas party was very enjoyable with excellent food.

Mum was taken to Clare Hall for the last few weeks/months of her life. We found the staff caring and once mum had attached herself to one nurse, she was happy to do what the nurse asked. She had an amazing room. She was beginning to go off food but they asked if there was any food/drink that they could
provide for her.
The family was kept up to date on her progress and felt comfortable coming and going any time of the day or night.

My mum was in the care home for respite following a broken leg. She was on the pathway between hospital and home. The nursing home is brilliant for my mum's needs. The only problem I have is mum can never do her books as she cannot reach them on the locker.

My 93-year-old mother stayed for the first time for 2 weeks respite care at Clare Hall and really enjoyed it. She liked spending time with other residents and joining in the activities. Everyone made her feel welcome. Also, I found the management to be efficient and accommodating. Their friendly professionalism
was appreciated when organising her stay. My mother will look forward to her next respite break there in the knowledge that she will be well looked after.

My daughter and I are very happy with the level of care my husband receives at Clare Hall. The staff are very kind and attentive and fully aware of all his needs. There might be the odd minor hiccup now and again but this would be the case in any care home. I would not hesitate to recommend Clare Hall
to others, indeed I have done so. What I particularly like is that Clare Hall does not just care for residents in terms of their personal well being, it also offers a wide and varied programme of activities so that residents are both stimulated and entertained.

Clare Hall is a very friendly, caring nursing home. The staff are lovely and always very helpful and patient.
The grounds are always beautifully kept and very colourful.
The food is quite nice and you have a good choice, always very hot.

My Uncle went to Clare Hall in April 2019 from the hospital. I cannot fault Clare Hall at all. He is a 91-year old still very much "switched on" and he was taken care of by lovely efficient caring staff. He was always clean, well-fed and cared for. He had never been away from home beforehand but fitted
in well and was highly thought of by the staff. I would thoroughly and absolutely recommend Clare Hall for care and comfort.
