Mother was cared for compassionately and well. I was informed of her condition regularly between weekly visits. Every effort was made to divert and stimulate her. Her wishes were respected wherever practical and safe. Staff were patient and affectionate.

My father was at Immacolata for 5 months before he died. The care he received from day 1 was excellent and such dignity was shown. The setting is so homely and all the accommodation is of a very high standard and the grounds excellent. The staff team were always so friendly and committed to giving the best possible care. The communication with me over his care was excellent and very responsive. I also cannot thank them enough for their sensitivity in the handling of his 'end of life' and the care they also showed towards my mother and myself. Thank you for everything.

I have already passed on my recommendation to a friend whose mother will probably need care soon. I would like to say my father's stay was as perfect a last year for him as possible. The care he received was superb and the dignity in which he was treated first class. I am very contented that his last months and weeks were made comfortable by all his carers. Thank you kindly.

I can’t praise Immacolata House enough. My uncle has been a resident there for two years. The care they have shown him is wonderful. Immacolata was second on my list of six care homes to visit. When I walked into Immacolata I had an immediate feeling that it was right for us. It has a homely, friendly feel from the moment you walk in and I didn't even bother to visit the others on the list. When he was able we both loved to sit in the garden watching the alpacas and other animals that they keep.
A couple of times I have eavesdropped on conversations the staff are having with him. They have never been less than loving and they speak to him as if he was family.

He is now 97 and has various troubles as well as dementia but the nursing care is great. They always ring me directly to tell me of any problems and how they are treating them. They always start the phone call with a “no need to worry” which is very much appreciated. I’m happy to recommend Immacolata House 100 per cent.

A quality care home with good facilities. Always seems to be a good number of carers available to look after the residents and also assist relatives with any queries when they arise. Grandmother seems to be happy and enjoy living here.

Excellent. The best care home I have ever visited. Clean, friendly (lovely cup of tea, a lovely touch after a long journey). Staff look lovely in their Xmas outfits. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. We had 2 visits from a lady who they collected, then a lovely man who thought it was his room. "I said yours is down the corridor". I took him along and saw a nurse. I explained he came into the room and I brought him back. Don't worry, I understand and have compassion.

Immacolata House is situated in a lovely rural setting with open grounds and farmland just outside Langport. The home has, due to managament and staff that homely and relaxed environment which is highly important to residents. Food and overall cleaniness is exceptional and gardens are kept to a good standard. Immacolata House has my recommendation to any future family member.

Lounge staffing is sometimes inadequate with residents left unsupervised as staff breaks coincide or overlap. Increases in agency staff leads to a lack of familiarity and understanding of individual needs and preferences. Diarised requests have been missed and handover from night to day staff can add to these problems. In some cases, agency staff appear improperly trained in the physical handling of residents needing hoists/wheelchairs leading to discomfort and a reluctance to co-operate. My opinion of staff - 'satisfactory' is a general view. Staff in the main are good or excellent! Despite the reservations listed, I am content with the care and attention my wife receives, hence I am 'extremely likely' to recommend this care provider, based on a four year tenure.

The standard throughout the home is excellent. The staff are very friendly, caring and there appears tob e little staff turnover. I feel this is down to the Manager who is always to be seen and is very approachable. The atmosphere is always pleasant with a lot of interaction between staff and residents. I cannot comment on value for money as a D.O.L. is in place.

Immacolata House is well staffed, with well-trained nurses and carers (as well as support staff) who understand the needs of people with dementia. I would prefer it if staff wore name badges. There are a lot of them and it is difficult to remember all of their names. The ID lanyards that they wear often twists round so that you cannot see the name.

Reply from Sharon Warren, at Immacolata House

Many thanks for taking the time to share your comments regarding Immacolata House. Unfortunately, we do not deem it safe for our staff to wear name badges, as we feel they could potentially cause harm to residents during moving and handling. We feel that lanyards are a safer option. We have...
