Overall Experience
I was in need of respite care for my father who was recovering from a broken hip. Pondsmead was suggested and following an informative and comprehensive tour of the facility, I arranged for his placement the following week. My father, who has since recovered and now moved on, claims;
"The staff were all very friendly, to say the least, and would go that extra mile to meet any requests made!"
"This made my stay at Pondsmead most enjoyable"
"I will endeavour to pay a visit to Pondsmead to renew old friendships"

That he made these statements are a testimony to the quality of the care he experienced, well done Pondsmead; thank you.

I was sent to Pondsmead when I broke my kneecap as a respite resident. The hospital works with the nursing home and I was very comfortable with the room, food, staff, management was very reassuring. My care her was first class. A big thank you to all. I do recommend this home.

Management and staff couldn't have been more helpful in the short stay of our step-grandmother - one week and two days.
Though some staff were under training, they were attentive within their experience and more than willing to be of assistance.
Food was perhaps the only disappointment, which is possibly unavoidable when 'bulk' catering.

The manager was extremely helpful and supportive to both the resident and 'us' the family.

My mother moved into Pondsmead Nursing Home after her care home closed down. We were very pleased to find there was space at short notice as it was convenient, the staff appeared friendly and the cost was reasonable when compared to other homes. My mother was looked after well from the first day, the management was supportive and the care staff were conscientious and helpful. My mother remained there for over two years until she peacefully passed away recently. She was always looked after, cleaned, entertained and fed to the best of the staff's ability.

My mother has been here for 6 years now and yes we have had a very rocky road until the manager we have now arrived. He has really turned the home around and now seems very good. So fingers crossed it will improve even more.

Mum now is four months away of turning 100 and the two main carers she has are excellent.

My friend came for end of life care. He was very happy with the staff; he gave them the highest praise and no negative criticism. He found the food stodgey but he had very little appetite in the final stages of his life.
The managers were very helpful and communicative. I would encourage all staff when communicating after a death to begin with words of sympathy, e.g. 'I am sorry that x has died'.

Thank you for the care given and for the opportunity to provide this response.

My mother was a resident for a shorter stay than expected, but in the time she was there, the caring and professionalism of the staff from management team, nurses and care assistants were excellent and she was looked after and treated with dignity.
Family and visitors were always welcome and offered refreshments and biscuits.

In all a very nice friendly nursing/care home.

Overall Experience
My father has been in Pondsmead for a few weeks and my mother has now joined him in the home.
At first, I was worried that this was the right place for them, however, after a few visits, I am happy with the home.
In general, the home is clean although I do think the bedding is a bit worn and could do with replacing.
Most of the staff are very kind and caring (there is the odd one who doesn't appear to be as kind) and welcome relatives when they visit.
There are no restrictions on when you can visit which is really good.
A meeting was held during one of our visits which gave residents and relatives a chance to raise any problems and put forward any suggestions.
I am relieved to know that my parents are safe and being well looked after.

I would certainly recommend this home.
