This home is always clean and the staff are very friendly. The only problem I have found is they never seem to keep me informed on how my mum is doing and if there is any change in her health.
Reply from Jo McMahon, Service Manager at Kimberly East Care CentreThank you for your review and also for informing us of the communication issue, I have discussed with the head of care and she has addressed this with her team and we will going forward ensure communication improves. We are always grateful for constructive feedback and to continually improve our service.

All the staff were kind and caring towards my Mum. Food looked really well cooked and appetising. Room small but welcoming. Would have been nice for the bed to be facing the window but I know moving beds isn't always easy! We were always made welcome when visiting. Many thanks.
Reply from Matthew Airey, Managing Director at Kimberly East Care CentreThank you so much for your lovely public comments which we will make sure the team at Little Manor are made aware of. They will be so pleased with your words and that their care and indeed the food was as it should be for your Mum.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I eventually got my sister in Little Manor Nursing Home after nine months. Since she moved there I see a great improvement in her. The nursing staff are interested and very helpful as are the care staff.
My sister is eating again because the food is good.
Reply from Matthew Airey, Managing Director at Kimberly East Care CentreDear Mary,
Thank you for your lovely review which I will ensure the team are made aware of. They will be so delighted with your kind comments which really help them to feel valued for the care and support they provide 24 hours per day.
I am sorry you feel the bedroom could be better and I will ask the Head of Care to discuss what we can do to improve this aspect of your feedback.
Thank you again, this feedback is so important to the team individually and collectively and will put a big smile on their faces.
PS: I have just been informed that the Head of Care and her team have been able to arrange a different room which you are happy with. We do listen and respond; as I said it's really important to the team that they receive constructive feedback.

Review from L B (Friend of Resident) published on 4 September 2017 Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Very impressed by the excellent care given to our friend. We visited her most days, and she was well looked after, by very kind people. Her room was really nice, with a comfortable chair and bed looking out into the pretty 'sensory' garden, with the variety of colours, shapes, trees and plants.
She
had good food, and the meals helped her to become healthier after a long stay in hospital - she enjoyed the food and the regular cups of tea and coffee!
She was able to be visited by the local vicar, bringing her Holy Communion, and the local doctors' surgery is also excellent.
We have seen a lot of different homes, and this one has impressed us very much: for its kindness, the excellent attention to each patient and the feeling of being somewhere that takes good care of all its people.

Review from Pamela M (Wife of Resident) published on 25 January 2017 Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My husband entered Little Manor Nursing Home in October and he was made most welcome by all the staff who in the next few weeks ensured he was settled. The manager is 'hands on' keeping her eye on minutiae and even grits the front path! Every situation is handled professionally by all staff. My husband
is kept clean and tidy and on Christmas day, a special effort was made to dress him for entertaining visitors, and extra chairs were put out. Meals are fantastic and everything is made from scratch. The roast potatoes and loin of pork I saw cooked could not have been bettered in a first class restaurant.
Reply from Matthew Airey, Managing Director at Kimberly East Care CentreThank you for your kind review. We are very sorry that you were disappointed with the in-house activities available for your husband. As you will be aware, there are external entertainers who continue to visit Little Manor on roughly a weekly basis but, unfortunately, we had, at short notice, an internal vacancy for the dedicated Welfare Assistant position which supports the more individual programme. This has been covered in part by some Healthcare Assistants doing additional hours - a big thank you to them. We have now appointed a new Welfare/Activities Assistant who is currently in training and expected to arrive at Little Manor in a week or so.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.742)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.742) out of 10 for Kimberly East Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.742 for Kimberly East Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (233 Excellents x 5) + (62 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 302 Ratings = 4.742
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kimberly East Care Centre is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
