My mother arrived at Sutton Veny on the 16th of August after being in hospital with Sepsis. One particular lady and her team have shown her great care and attention since she moved in. They are always so cheerful, and nothing is too much trouble. My mother is now settled into a lovely room, overlooking the beautiful gardens.

Thank you so much for your kind words. The staff at Sutton Veny will always strive to do as much as they can for all of our residents. We are glad that your mother has settled in and is also enjoying our garden. Thank you once again.

The move from another nursing home locally five months ago to Sutton Veny Nursing Home proved timely. My aunt was very well cared for by a team who found time to talk to her and offer the respect and dignity that made her feel settled as her life of 93 years was coming to its end. The emphasis on providing care and compassion to an elderly lady was so evident. Despite the constraints of Covid restrictions, the staff went to great lengths to get to know her and offer her a continuity of care, often on first name terms. Communication with her family was excellent. The support of the local GP enabled the nurses and carers to offer her an end of life care creating peace and calmness. My only regret is not moving her four years ago to Sutton Veny, a home of comfort and care. Well done!

A beautiful house located in a wonderful place, with an imposing design, keeping the culture and tradition, an extraordinary garden and a special interior as if it were a corner of Heaven. Qualified staff and an extraordinary kitchen, rising to the highest standards. Very good management, a manager with an open mind and respect, especially to our peers and the environment. I recommend this wonderful house - enjoy!

My mother went into Sutton Veny nursing home in July last year, having broken her hip. The manager could not have been more helpful and took the stress out of the situation. My mother settled in well, and the caring and friendly staff looked after her well through difficult times during the pandemic.

The staff were always welcoming, helpful and cheerful when I visited my mother.

My dad became a resident at Sutton Veny in December 2018. I cannot thank the staff enough for all their daily dedication, kindness and hard work; they go above and beyond in my eyes.
Sutton Veny does not only do day-to-day care (which is no small task in itself), they also have interactive activities for residents and their families (when Covid was not a restriction), they raise money for great causes/charities - currently, they are raising money for toiletries to send to the people in Ukraine.

I really could not have asked for a better care home for my dad, and no words can thank the staff enough. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Sutton Veny House is properly managed and run by staff who dearly care about the residents. The manager volunteered to collect my mother at the start of her stay and then returned her home at the end of her stay. She was always available, even on her days off and when on holiday.

I have found the care of my mother to be excellent, even with having to cope with the added burden of Covid-19. All the staff I have met are helpful and treat my mum with the utmost kindness. It is obvious to me that under the guidance of a knowledgeable and experienced manager, all runs well at Sutton Veny House.

Thank you all.

The incredible team at Sutton Veny House Nursing Home, led by the immensely competent manager, are to be commended for the outstanding level of care they provide. Their "can do" attitude, coupled with good grace and humour, means those in their care are all looked after in extremely comfortable and well-appointed surroundings. Residents are treated with kindness and compassion, with visitors made to feel they are being welcomed by friends. A true masterclass in how care homes should be run and immense credit to all those individuals involved in the provision of such excellent, caring care.

We have been delighted by the care our relative has received at Sutton Veny House. From the moment of his arrival, he has been made to feel welcome by the friendly, cheerful and caring staff. They have tailored a care package to him and really go the extra mile on his behalf. The end result is that our relative has settled in well, is comfortable and feels safe and well cared for. He is far happier than he has been for months, and we are most grateful to the whole team at Sutton Veny House.

Review from T M (Sister of Resident) published on 10 March 2021 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The management and staff made my sister feel extremely welcome, and all commented on how outstanding she was as a character. We felt that she was truly welcome and part of their family, which put our minds at ease. Due to the current Covid situation, the home was unable to put on their usual activities and entertainment, but went out of their way to make my sister feel at home - we know she would have enjoyed these. My sisters care exceeded expectation during the Covid outbreak, but she would've loved to have been able to explore the beautiful house and grounds. Unfortunately, even though the staff kept her safe, she caught Covid after a short hospital stay and sadly passed away. We wish she could've been able to enjoy the beautiful home and staff for a lot longer.

After several periods of respite care, my husband moved permanently into Sutton Veny in June 2020. He always seemed contented and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings - not the constant bell ringing that occurs in so many modern homes. The caregivers were so good to him, showing respect and patience. In spite of restrictions caused by covid-19, we were asked to visit (pre-arranged) and weal able to take him out to enjoy the lovely gardens at the home.

In the present climate of uncertainty regarding Covid-19 the staff and in particular, the manager has been so helpful. They have tried to keep everything as normal as possible. They have been open and honest regarding the difficulties they have and are still facing. It certainly can't be easy for them.

Sutton Veny has looked after my husband for the last two years or so extremely well and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone else. The rooms I have seen are always clean and welcoming. No nasty smells and the staff are always welcoming. The house is beautiful. The present manager is doing an excellent job and has made many improvements since she joined.

The new manager is really making a difference. She takes time to listen to me. I came here last November and I was traumatised, underweight, frightened and very sad. Since I have been here, I have gained half a stone, I am no longer frightened. I like the staff. Most important I feel respected, listened to and I feel safe. I very much want to stay here. I have cerebral palsy, learning difficulties, complex needs.

We have been very happy with the care and attention that is given to our relative during the last two months.

The staff are very friendly and give time to make sure all is well, and our relative is comfortable. He is happy to be there. There were some small issues during management changeover, but these have been sorted out now since the arrival of the new manager.

Mum was moved to Sutton Veny House temporarily for 4 weeks. Her care was outstanding. The team took a lot of time and effort to go the extra mile to ensure she was happy. The residents are offered lovely fresh food with plenty of choice. The manager helped me enormously to move Mum after her stay to ensure a smooth transition. Truly top class care in a stunning loctaion.
