During a recent time of bad illness, the care and understanding my mother received was second to none.
All the staff that attended to her were fantastic. They even took good care of myself and other family members as well. It gives me peace of mind to know my mother is so well cared for during both the day and night.

Overall, the home has such a lovely atmosphere and is always spotlessly clean.

An excellent welcome to this care home when I arrived and a warm feel as I came in.
My care here has been so caring and lots of kindness from all the staff - they listen, they are fun and I've enjoyed my stay here, we are also treated with great respect.

The icing on the cake was on my 90th birthday. They made a beautiful cake with candles and made such a fuss of me, and my daughter and son in law were able to stay most of the day. Thank you to everyone.

There is a very caring attitude at the home. My aunt was very hesitant to go anywhere but has settled here well and has been encouraged to have a sense of belonging.

Whilst she was still able to she has been to events put on in the lounge, including lovely sing a long sessions, some old and new tunes which everyone thoroughly enjoys.

She recently celebrated her 100th birthday and the staff, with special thanks to the staff for the amazing decorations and food, together with the photos, helped make it a lovely day for not only my aunt but the rest of our family who could attend on the day.

The staff are dedicated to making sure that everyone is cared for, not just looked after.

I came here in July 2017 in rather poor condition but after a few weeks I was much better and have remained so. I am pleased to acknowledge that not much has been changed.
A good move on your part was the immediate replacement of the facility radiators.

This is a very happy home let's keep it that way!

The staff are generally caring. I had visited various local care homes prior to deciding to use The Westbury. My mother had broken her hip and failed to recover enough to remain independent. They look after her needs and will speak to me if there appear to be problems with her care.

My 92 year old mother broke her hip at the end of July. After two weeks in hospital, she was discharged to The Westbury for intermediate care. She was there almost 8 weeks until being discharged to home at the start of October. The care and treatment she received at the home was exemplary. As her son, with lasting power of attorney, I was kept fully informed of her progress and the liaison between the NHS employed occupational therapist and the representative of the social services worked really well.

I visited almost weekly during this 8 week period and at all times the staff were polite, courteous, caring and friendly. There was one very minor concern expressed by me at the beginning of my mother's stay and this was dealt with by the manager promptly and efficiently.

If my mother does end up full time in a care home and I, of course, hope she doesn't, I would have no hesitation in her going into The Westbury.

I am quite happy in my life here. I'm treated as a normal person. I chat to our carers who I can have a laugh with. If I don't feel well or having a bad day they help me through it. The food is very good, ample amount and something different every day.

Overall the care here has been very good with much kindness. Some initial problems such as pots of tea vs. cups of tea were resolved gradually, though sometimes it has taken rather a long time (half to three-quarters of an hour!)
I have found the policy of nothing - not even basics like tissues - being supplied somewhat daunting after coming too far away from home to expect visitors to bring them.
I should have thought a small reserve stock on your part might make life a little easier
Such a negative approach is rather off-putting!

But thank you to all.

Thank you for taking the time to review our Home. We do hold a small stock of items such as toiletries and tissues in the event that a Resident may be in need and we will ensure that all staff are aware that this is available. Your feedback is valuable to us and will be shared with the team.

They welcomed my mother-in-law to the home after a period in hospital. The care was excellent and she made good progress and finally discharged to a suitable residential care home, more locally. Staff and organisation excellent within the home.

Over Bank Holiday weekend my husband's foot looked red and we thought it might be infected or worse. The nurse called the 'out of hours' doctor who sent him to hospital for investigation. If the nurse had not acted promptly my husband might have been in great trouble. Overall we are very happy with all the care he receives. The food is good with a variety of dishes to choose. The social afternoons are enjoyable and we enjoy communion together. All the staff treat him with dignity and affection.
