I visit daily and have found the care provided to be very good. The nurses are excellent as are the care staff, they provide caring professionalism with cheer and good humour. All seem sensitive to the needs of the residents and attend to them with politeness, courtesy, and devotion. The ancillary staff are the same cheerful and effective. The atmosphere of Church View is of warmth and homeliness, along with a deep sense of commitment to the health and well-being of the residents.

Thank you to all the team at Church View who care for my dad, he thoroughly enjoyed a recent visit from a singer and singing along to familiar songs with the other residents. Always a warm welcome from the staff at Church View when I visit. Dad gives great reviews of the food and staff looking after him. I have been impressed with the efforts made to get to know the resident's individual preferences. Keep up the great work!

The facilities at Church View are excellent with comfortable and spacious rooms. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are very welcoming and discharge their duties with efficiency while retaining a good sense of humour. The staff take the time to understand the needs and preferences of each person and take care to offer support while fostering a sense of dignity and respect.

An excellent service received by myslef on visiting Mum for lunch. The welcome was friendly, the food was excellent, and the small details were noted, like placemats and flowers on the dining table. The home is well-run by the current manager who has an excellent team of staff behind her.

Review from R W (Friend of Resident) published on 7 March 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My friend initially arrived at Church View in Nov 2023. From day one, all staff were welcoming, supportive of him and myself. They ensured we had as much information as possible and caringly went over all aspects of settling my friend into his new setting. They immediately got to know my name and whenever I spoke with any member of staff, I could tell they had taken time to get to know him too (his personality, likes, dislikes etc).
Since that time, admin, nursing and care staff have been exemplary in their care and support of my friend. They ensure that he is involved as much as possible (and as much as he would like) in the special events and programme they offer. Although restricted at the moment to his bed, they work continuously with the physio team to help him reach his mobility goals including daily exercises within the bed.

I've never met a more caring bunch of people. Always greeting with a smile of welcome, nothing is too much trouble in making my friend as happy as possible. Thank you.

Church View Care Home is so clean and comfortable. The staff are absolutely amazing and really care for our dad.

Since he arrived in November 2023 he’s been getting to know all the staff and despite having his own ups and downs, he’s having a positive experience here in Church View.

Mum transferred from another care home nearly two years ago to Church View and all the family are very pleased with how she has settled there. The staff are very helpful and kind, the food and care given is very good.
Any concerns or questions from us are answered and dealt with and whenever mum has been poorly we have been informed and we have noticed improvements with each visit which is very comforting. The home provides really good entertainment for the residents and they try to engage mum as much as possible.

Overall the home is satisfying all of mum's needs and we are very happy with both her care and her environment.

My mum is really happy at the home. She is a character and her food requests when she is The Resident of the day always make us smile and she is delivered whatever she requests. Thank you for all the love and TLC she receives from you all. We really appreciate all that you offer and do!

From the first phone call to when Mum passed, nothing was too much for the staff. Always had Mum's care at the foremost, which was first class in every aspect. Also, helped lots when Mum passed. There are no negatives for me, just loads of positives. Somebody was always on hand to talk to and treated Mum as royalty.

Overall Experience

The carers were very good but unfortunately, communication was poor even though the home were told that I and my sisters have LPA for Health for our mum. I had a few occasions when I needed to speak to a nurse and to be honest I found one of them rather rude. Mum enjoyed the activity sessions and we were pleased that these were taking place as mum is very unsure of herself and introvert so mixing with other residents was a big step forward for her. Sadly the same can't be said for her mobility. We did stress when she was brought in that we wanted walking to be encouraged. Also since being in the home she has suffered from extreme diarrhoea which no one seemed to be worried about. Mum has had problems with this for a while but nowhere near the state she is in now. We did speak to a nurse about our concerns and were told she'd have a sample done but we heard nothing more. At our request mum was given a certain diarrhoea medication, but only one a day which did nothing as she should have had one after every bout.

Overall Experience

Diagnosed in September 2019 with a terminal illness and given 2 weeks to live, we chose Church View Nursing Home for my Mum's palliative care, because the Manager met us after she should have gone home (a sign of caring), and for the homely atmosphere. All of the staff we met that evening were cheerful as were the residents we met. Mum moved in on October 10th 2019 very hesitant and very much trusting in my judgement. She was so well cared for, loved, spoilt and had so much fun she said she wished she had moved in years ago. The standard of nursing, the carers, housekeeping, maintenance and kitchen staff including the wonderful Manager all contributed to my precious Mum having, she said "one of the best Christmases ever". She also achieved her 95th birthday and again was so spoilt. In her last 7 days, I stayed day and night with her and the care I too received was outstanding. Mum and I laid down 4 months of wonderful happy memories, making the parting easier. Thank you all always.

Dad is doing very well and is being looked after very well and I know he is quite happy in these very difficult times. It gives us a comfortable peace of mind to know he is looked after especially when we ourselves are struggling.

My aunt has been at Church View for over three years. She is happy despite being unable to leave her room. Staff are always friendly and willing to give her whatever she needs. Communications from the home during lockdown have been clear and reassuring.
