Mum has been at Perrylocks for almost 18 mths, she enjoys her room & has her patio door open with a lovely view of trees & garden, with lots of passing wildlife. The staff have been very kind eversince she arrived.

My aunt Cara was placed in Perry Locks at Calthorpe Unit from 12th January having spent many weeks isolated in hospital. Cara thrived, happy, felt safe, wonderfully cared for by all the fantastic staff, who treated her like their own relative. Respect given to such a high standard, visitors treated so well with offers of teas, coffees and even meals, plus wine! Cara passed 9th April 2026 peacefully. We are so grateful and thankful for all Cara's care and love given to her xxx. Special thanks to Sara xxx.

Perrywell House is where my mother resided for 19 months. Leaving my mom in the care of the wonderful staff was the best decision I ever made. From the manager and all others, the care and compassion was exemplary. The lovely people who looked after her were like a second family to me, and I shall miss them all, without exception.

We visit her on Wednesdays and engage with the staff. One member of staff is lovely, very friendly and personable, he puts 100% into entertaining the residents and visitors. he always has a very cheerful disposition and treats everyone with respect and enthusiasm. He is multi talented, doing quizzes, hair styling and painting nails, at all times making sure the residents feel included and valued. He is an absolute credit to Perry Locks.

I find the staff both professional & friendly recognising how difficult there job can be. They are very good in both the ways of carrying out their jobs and making visitors feel comfortable. Summing up I would say that they people working here are appreciated by who they look after and the families they come in contact with.

Expertly and professionally led by the manager, this caring, compassionate and dedicated team, showed much gentle and kindness to my wife during her stay at Perry Locks care home. And during her stay she regained her mobility after a lengthy hospital stay. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved.

My mom has been living in Brooklyn House's Dementia Unit for almost a year. The staff ensure mom is kept warm, clean and well-fed and most of all, safe. It is a minefield when seeking a suitable home for a loved one but we feel that Perry Locks has been an excellent choice for us. Sometimes there are areas that could do with attention to detail regarding cleaning up spills, etc, on chairs and floors, but overall the majority of the staff are very attentive to the needs of the residents and the nursing staff are always on hand to speak to. A big plus is how quickly the doctor is called out when necessary and any medication is prescribed.

Our Family member stayed at Perry Locks care home for three years and six months and was well cared for. The staff always had time to talk to me to explain how my aunt was doing. The bedroom was always tidy and clean and the communal areas were always welcoming and well laid out.
There was always something going on for the residents to keep them active and involved especially around major events throughout the year.
The management team were excellent throughout the time my aunt was staying at Perry Locks. They were very informative and helpful with any concerns we had.

A great overall care home.

My father-in-law is generally satisfied with the care he receives from most staff. Whenever he has had a problem they have been sorted out quickly. Good communication with my father-in-law's relatives. Nurse in charge of Lawrence House is first class. She listens to our concerns and deals with them promptly.

Our major concern is the state of carpet in room 35 which we have raised several times. We have been told that it is to be replaced.

Majority of staff are pleasant, polite with the exclusion of a few, e.g., snappy, impatient and ignorant. Which is no good at all for a carer. They put the rest to shame.

Good experience now that my mom has settled in.
I wish the care staff had more available time to chat with my mom as she is bed-bound and rarely comes out of her room.

The food isn't the best, room for improvement. Although, they do make my mom a lovely omelette which she likes.

The service at Perry Locks is great. The staff are very attentive to patients and very knowledgeable. One criticism is the food. Dietary requirements need to be met for diabetics. Sugary foods need to be more limited for those with diabetes. The pudding offered after every meal is excessive even for someone without any conditions. You wouldn't give an alcoholic in rehab a bottle of whiskey, why would this be any different?
