Fantastic care home, staff are brilliant, I was wary of care homes as you hear bad stuff in general, but from day one they went above & beyond for everything that we asked for, thank you all so much for the care of my uncle.

Where can I start? My mother was moved from hospital to island court for paliative care in the last few days of her life. 17/5/25 -22/5/25.
The home was very clean and smelt clean. The room for my mother was lovely and had its own ensuit.
The care given to my mother was exceptional and even
the care and friendliness to my father and myself was outstanding. The staff work hard and the care was well above standards.
After my mum had passed away the staff were so lovely to us and even gave me a hug something you definately need after going through a trauma.
Everyone of the people needs to be reminded of how brilliant they are. Very many thanks for making my mothers last few days so comfortable and helping us through it especially the care given to my dad too who isn't a well man.
Thank you so so much.

Thank you does not cover the gratitude we feel towards the staff. From day one they have been outstanding in the care, friendly and professional manner they conduct their selves. Nothing was too much trouble and they all went above and beyond to ensure the holistic care was delivered respectfully. The
staff were able to apply the care required at a level and pace that was needed by the resident for that particular day. They constantly assessed requirements and constantly kept us updated. They offered different skills and talents to make residents and visitors feel included, safe and entertained. Especially noticed by people whose relatives were being bed nursed. Staff constantly checked on relatives too. Quality of food was amazing. Every single member of staff had a special quality that enabled us to get through such a difficult time. We could become relatives again knowing our relative was getting quality care, which enabled us to feel secure we had made the right choice.

My mom receives excellent care at Island Court, it's a pleasure to visit which I do on a daily basis. I recently requested my mom's room to be decorated by the new manager and it was done within one week of speaking to her. Many thanks.

Island Court is very good. In my eyes, the only thing is the laundry of the people living there goes missing even with their names on the clothing. My brother has lost over 15 t-shirts, pants and socks and 3 pairs of slippers. We, as relatives, don't have bottomless wallet or purses to keep replacing
them so this needs addressing ASAP please.
Like I say, it is the only fault I can find in Island Court.

My mother-in-law has been in the home for over 12 months and I can only speak as I find. She's looked after with wonderful care, she's on the residential floor and there is always lots going on. I'm happy with the care she receives, she's happy, content and always smiling.
She enjoys the food and says
there is plenty for her and she loves the activities as there is always something going on. As a family, we find this lovely to see them all enjoying themselves.

My great auntie has been in Island Court for just over a month now and in that month I have seen a big difference in her. She's happy and mainly cared for by the staff, I tend to visit my aunt every week and whenever I turn up she always looks happy and alert. I can honestly say this home is lovely
the staff are all friendly and make time to talk with you and my auntie likes it here.
This is her 3rd resident home in two years and I see her do everything. She says the entertainment is lovely, she enjoys the singers and she likes to join in with the activities daily, her favourite being the sing along and talking about her past life.
She also says the food is lovely and always has a good breakfast. We as a family can only thank Island Courts staff for making her part of their home. There are no concerns which is good for us as we were very worried when we had to change her care. A VERY BIG THANKYOU TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.674)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.674) out of 10 for Island Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.935 for Island Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (43 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 46 Ratings = 4.935
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.739 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Island Court Care Home is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 11 = 0.364
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
