Dovedale Court Care Home, located just outside the lovely market town of Wednesbury in the West Midlands, offers personalised nursing and residential dementia care in a friendly and welcoming setting.

A real home-from-home, Dovedale Court boasts a plethora of spots where residents can relax and socialise. Recently refurbished, residents also benefit from specially designed furnishings which maximise comfort and ensure residents feel at home. The courtyard garden is a tranquil spot in which to spend time and to catch up with friends and family, and the on-site salon offers the perfect space to enjoy a little TLC.

The dedicated and professional care team at Dovedale Court take the time to learn about each resident’s hobbies and interests. Not only does this make it possible to build positive relationships with residents, but it also allows them to curate an activities programme that compliments each residents' interests, supporting them to get involved with the Dovedale Court lifestyle.

Residents are also encouraged to take an active role in the Wednesbury community in whatever way suits them, whether it be building relationships with neighbours in local community groups and schools or taking trips out and about in the local area.

My father has been a resident for a few years now and I would recommend Dovedale Court to anyone. The staff, even through changes, are professional, friendly and most important of all, naturally caring. I have never once had any concerns. I can sleep at night knowing my father is in safe hands. The
food is amazing too.


Dad is always smiling and I know this is down to the care he is receiving by the amazing staff.

Dad moved into care at the end of June. The staff at Dovedale have been just fabulous, ensuring that Dad has settled in as well as possible. We family quickly had the comfort that Dad is now well cared for. His transition into care has gone as well as it could have done. Thanks to the staff at Dovedale.

Making the decision to put a loved one into a care home is one of the hardest decisions you have to make but from the first day my dad came to Dovedale Court Care Home, he was made to feel very welcome and at ease. He receives excellent care whilst maintaining his dignity at all times.
The staff here
are very warm and caring towards him and often make him laugh with their humour which I feel is so very important. We as a family visit on a regular basis and it now feels like a home from home. A warm and friendly place to be.

If I had to come to home later in life, here is the place for me. All the staff work so hard but more importantly they truly care. It is not just a job, a life choice and they all deserve more. Maybe if a government official sadly spends a week here, maybe they will be more appreciative in what they

Each and every member of staff conducted themselves professionally answering any questions with a great amount of respect and knowledge. Handled my grandmother with utmost empathy and dignity not only till her last breath but also after her death.
When she passed away members of staff consoled us
just like members of my own family despite the fact she had been with them no more than a fortnight.
When she stopped eating or drinking due to her dementia the staff spared no effort to cajole my grandmother to have at least something.
With all the horror stories we hear about care homes I was not keen at all on my grandmother being in any nursing home despite the fact she desperately required palative care for her last days.
However, the staff here genuinely enjoyed their work and have won our admiration.

I have always found the staff very helpful and understanding of my grandmother's needs. They were very good at helping her to settle into her room and the routine of everyday life here. They are also encouraging her to join in with any activities without being overbearing. They have been very good with

My mother was resident at Dovedale Court Care Home from November 2016, initially in the residential unit, moving to nursing care in February 2017. Our experience of the care she received in both units was very positive, she was treated with respect and staff went out of their way to try to meet her
individual needs. Staff in both units were warm and friendly and seemed genuinely interested and caring towards her and supportive of us, her family. She passed away there on 31/03/17 and in death, their concern for her dignity continued.

My mother was only in Dovedale for just over 12 months. Unfortunately, she passed away on there on the 21/1/17 but in the 12 months she was there, with the illness she had, she was extremely well looked after and cared for by the members of staff.

Staff treated my dad like he was theirs. I could not fault in any way their care and they were very helpful to me in trying times.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“For me, kind care is ensuring that we provide the highest quality of care to meet a range of needs for each individual, enhancing a Resident’s experience of being in the home.”


As a dedicated healthcare professional, Dawn has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Dawn closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Dovedale Court.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Dawn remarked:


“I really enjoy being part of such a fantastic team. It means so much to me to work together to ensure our Residents are happy.”


Outside of work, Dawn is very family orientated, as she enjoys spending quality time with her children.
