The staff on Buttercup Unit, we owe enormous gratitude for the love, time and care they took of our dad. He was out of bed every day, participating in activities in the day rooms, meals were lovely and nutritious and they generally care about their residents. Nothing was too much trouble and our dad loved every one of them. The management and nurses were exceptional, always acknowledging residents with a smile and a laugh which I think goes a long way.
We got to know several residents during our dads 7-month stay, and it was always a pleasure to visit daily to have a chat as we walked through the corridors as bedroom doors are open which I think is lovely and does a lot for residents' well-being.
Overall, you wouldn't find any better than Atholl House. Thank you all.

My Brother has been in the home for over 3 months having had several strokes and other heart complications it was really important to choose a nursing home with a medical centre attached. He was put into Atholl House for assessment from the hospital and we never wanted him to move to anywhere else. The senior management, the staff, nurses and support team have been great and so caring. They listen to your concerns especially as he has just moved in from his own home to hospital to the nursing home and is naturally disorientated and are so understanding and always take action whether from a medical side or a care side. Whilst he is bedbound they ensure that he has his religious hyms on being Sikh and his Bollywood films and because there are some south Asian nursing staff on his wing they have a good chat with him in punjabi and that lifts his spirits. Atholl House is a great second home for him. A special thanks to the manager and another particular member of staff although everyone is great.
Thank you for your incredibly kind and lovely review. It's fantastic to hear that our team, from the senior management to the nurses and support staff, have shown such care and understanding. We strive to create a welcoming and personalised environment where our residents feel comfortable and at home, and we're thrilled to know that Atholl House has become a second home for your brother.

The scuffed and damaged walls. The main item of furniture looks like it’s been brought in after being found on the street where it has been for a week or two. Pee bottles being left in the room from the previous occupant. The poor state of the fixtures and fittings or the lack thereof. The fact mum has never been wearing her glasses when we visit. The fact that the juice jug and sipping cup are never within reach. When I last went there, there was not even an over-bed trolley table in the room. Dinners that are supposed to be hot or warm at least being at best lukewarm or even cold. Mum's personal belongings going missing. And the unexplained cuts and bruises on mum's arms and head.

We're truly sorry to hear that our care home hasn't lived up to your expectations; this comes as a surprise to us. Our ward decor has been crafted with a lively reminiscence theme to aid memory stimulation. The corridor imitates a village high-street; it even features a post office, grocery store and more. We're also excited to announce our soon-to-be opened 'Zen Room', aiming to feel just like home. Please understand, we limit unnecessary fittings in the ward where your mother resides, whilst ensuring safety with code-operated doors, a necessity considering the potential confusion experienced by our residents. Our dependable team across all domains strives to deliver top-notch service to our residents.
Finally, our open-door policy is literal; the Home Manager's office is right next to reception, encouraging you, or anyone, to drop in with concerns. We're committed to resolving any issues promptly.

My dad became a resident at the home in February 23. He has been treated extremely well. All the staff have got to know him and his likes and dislikes. He is always treated with kindness and compassion. More recently, the staff and manager went out of their way to accommodate my mum as a resident at the home. Not only were the staff amazing with Mum, but they also supported the family. This is everyone at Atholl House - Nurses, Catering Team, Care Assistants, Reception and so forth - You should all be proud of yourselves for what you do day and night with such compassion. It certainly shines that it's more than just a job. The facilities, including the room and bathroom, were a good size and kept clean. Unfortunately, due to Mum's condition, she couldn't take advantage of the activities, but we know she would have participated if she could. The family and I would recommend Atholl House to anyone considering care for themselves or a loved one. Thanks again to all the team.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so glad you and your Mum experienced a good time at Atholl House. Everyone who enters our home is considered family. Your kind message will be appreciated by the staff at Atholl House.

My mother was sent to Atholl House by the hospital for end-of-life care. She was a resident for 2 weeks before passing. I cannot praise the facilities and the staff at Atholl House enough. They were the best, attentive, and caring people you could wish for.

As a family when you have to make the hardest decision ever of accepting your loved one needs 24-hour care and you worry so much as to whether they will be cared for properly and as a person. This was us. Our beautiful Nan was placed at Atholl House and our worries were totally unnecessary. The care our Nan received was outstanding. All the staff got to know her as the caring person she was and supported us as a family. Sadly we lost Nan, when we arrived following the call to say she was unwell, we arrived and the nurse was holding her hand and stroking her hair. I will never be able to thank you enough as our worst fear was she would be alone. Members of staff in particular (and one who makes the best coffee Nan said) who were brilliant and so many others. Cannot thank you all enough for the fantastic kindness and care you gave our Nan. Thank you, and I know we speak for all of our family.
Thank you for the lovely review, we were privileged to be in a position to support such a lovely lady and her family. Your comments are greatly appreciated.
