Overall Experience

My father was resident for the last 9 months of his life. The care he received was excellent! He was treated with respect, care and treated like one of a family. His needs were put first. One outstanding example- when he was transferred from another home- on the day he arrived his socks were removed and his toes were dotted with plasters/old dressing- none of which we knew about and neither were Brockhampton Court aware he was a diabetic so the care of his feet were paramount. After their expert care his toes and feet were (when he passed away) without a blemish- due only to their diligent care. During his final days/hours his family were kept informed and were enabled to stay to be close at the time, nothing too much trouble.

My mother suffered a stroke in 2013 and my father couldn't cope with my mother after that so it was decided with mum's consent to go to Brockhampton. She was made so welcome that the settling in period passed very smoothly. The nursing staff were so caring, always going that extra mile in such a compassionate, respectful manner. My mother was happy there, enjoying all the clubs and activities that were organised ans she fully took part.

My wife has been in Brockhampton Court for 12 months before she died in March 2015 aged 94. Although naturally she resented not staying in our own home in Hereford where she had lived happily for the last 60 years, she had nothing but praise for Brockhampton Court and always seemed very happy there. Although naturally she would have preferred staying in her own home. That however was not practical. One big advantage of living at Brockhampton Court was the companionship she enjoyed though with other residents but also the very pleasant and friendly staff. As an alternative to being in ones own home, Brockhampton Court in the beautiful surroundings could not be bettered.

My brother has been in care at Brockhampton Court for approx 15 years. During this time he has always been treated with the utmost respect care and attention. I live in Scotland and can't visit as often as I would wish. It is therefore great comfort to know he is so well cared for by all the staff at Brockhampton. They are always so helpful in the occasions I phone and ask about my brother. I could not wish for him to be in a better place for his care.

Mum has 10 days respite care.

Brockhampton was very welcoming right from the start. Mum thoroughly enjoyed her stay. She enjoyed the food and company. She was a bit disappointed not to have an en-suite shower although some rooms do have them.

Following the replacement of a dislocated shoulder, I spent two weeks rehabilitation at Brockhampton Court. On arrival I was warmly welcomed and shown to a very comfortable well furnished room with en-suite facilities and an attractive view over parkland.

Throughout my stay I was very well cared for by the cheerful friendly staff who went to endless trouble to meet my needs. I was particularly struck by the strong impression that both staff and residents seemed to feel themselves part of a single community.

Following a dislocated shoulder my wife has just spent a two week recovery period at Brockhampton Court. She occupied a very well appointed private room with en suite washing/toilet facilities and a wonderful view over parkland. She had access to a large well furnished communal room with coffee/tea making facilities in which residents can socialise with guests or with each other. The cheerful caring staff organise activities in which residents can participate and socialise with each other if they wish. Brockhampton Court is a real living community- not simply an impressive country mansion in which active staff look after passive patients.

Spotless, efficient, welcoming, caring home. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is delicious, I have eaten with my partner on several occasions and the finer touches like "a sherry before lunch" are much appreciated. Matron is the most efficient woman and has very high standards and a great sense of humour!

Granddad was always very happy and content. And always had a joke with the staff. If my parents has to go into a nursing home this would be the one 10/10.

My father-in-law had only been in Brockhampton Court for a short while under palliative care. He settled in very quickly. The staff were all very kind to him. He had one of the best Christmas's he had had for a long time. His son worked on the ambulance service for 24 years, he said that this was the best nursing home he had come.

My Mother has been a resident at Brockhampton Court for 8 weeks, following major surgery. She has made amazing progress and will soon be ready to return home to live independently. This is down to the fantastic personalised care and attention that she has received.
The nursing care combined with the excellent food and 'tender loving care' from every member of staff has made her recovery as straightforward as it could possibly have been.

My Mother was a resident over the Christmas and New Year period, and as a family we joined her to celebrate. The atmosphere at Christmas Lunch was superb and we felt privileged to be part of what is clearly a much loved and appreciated 'family of residents and staff' at Brockhampton Court. Thank you!

I am an independent carer companion for elderly. I go to many different care homes. Brockhampton has by far the happiest atmosphere. The staff are clearly well looked after and listened to so consequently they are cheerful and willing.

The house is always clean and smells nice, there are many activities for the residents. I would be happy to see a close member of my family this home.

I visit the nursing home about once a month. It is always warm and welcoming and I am always impressed that the staff recognise me, and can make appropriate comments about my friend ( she's been very chatty today, she joined in the activity, she's been down to every meal etc) My friend's room is always welcoming and is kept clean and tidy. The staff are always very kind and patient.

If I needed to go into a nursing home Brockhampton Court would definitely be my choice and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. I cannot think of anything negative to report. The building is magnificent as are the surroundings but most importantly the staff and carers are excellent. There is entertainment on a regular basis, crosswords, quiz, exercise etc. The whole atmosphere could be likened to staying in an extremely pleasant country house. Christmas time is amazing, nothing seems to be too much trouble to keep the residents happy. I have never seen anything untoward and I am a regular visitor. I might also add that I have had experience of at least two other care homes but this is exceptional.

Excellence of caring, from initial reception, matron, nurses, carers, support staff are of the highest standard. Catering produce a varied menu from fresh produce meeting dietary needs and personal choice, presented to a high standard. This spacious house is furnished with fine homely pieces, tasteful works of art and decoration, reflect the influence of William Morris and the period.

The warmth of welcome and comfort of the facilities engenders the ambience of joining the wider family, encouraging residents to participate in their excellent activity programme.
