My father has only been in the home for five weeks, but from day one, I knew he was in the best place! The management team and staff are extremely amiable and helpfully; they are always there to talk to and keep me up to date with Dads progress with texts and photos. All his needs are catered for. As
a family, we are happy with the care Dad receives, the staff and manager are compassionate, thoughtful and care for us as well as Dad.

Hampton Grange nursing home has surpassed all of our expectations, the extraordinary levels of care and support they have shown our Dad since moving in two years ago are second to none. The manager has gone above and beyond with his organisational skills, his knowledge, professionalism, empathy and
his personality exudes all of these qualities, all of this overflows when caring for all of his residents, staff and families. The administration staff are caring, very respectful and show so much support, they always made time for our Dad especially, when his dementia became worse; they helped keep him calm. The caring nursing staff should be commended for their amazing ability to understand their resident's needs and care for them as if they were their own family. The staff take time to get to know each resident and assess all their personal and emotional needs, and we are forever and extremely grateful to everyone for making our Dad's stay the most loving and supportive second family. We couldn't have chosen a more suitable, friendly, caring home.

Firstly, I would like to say thank you, showing my dad such kindness, grace and love for the time he was in your care. Also in my hour of need, which meant so much to me and my family. Your presence in our lives has meant so much, and people like you are a reminder that kindness does exist in the world.
During the most challenging time of our lives, you were there with valuable advice and always ready to listen. Your compassion, optimism and kindness do not go unnoticed. Thank you form the bottom of our hearts. You are all a shining example to all who cross your path.

I wish to thank everyone for the care they gave my husband for more than two years. He was always clean-shaven, tidy, and plenty of good meals. All staff were very kind, attentive, nothing was too much trouble. He liked bingo, exercise 'sometimes', also loved bird shows, music, TV and any entertainment.
I am very grateful for his care.

The staff for the last two years have been amazing with my grandad. Kept us informed of any changes to my grandad. It is like one big family. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Grandad seemed very happy. The staff were always by my grandad's side right to the time of his passing. The staff informed
us what was going on and what actions were to be taken after he passed. I would recommend this home to anyone.

My mother came to Hampton Grange in May 2020 for respite care. She was well looked after and happy. During this difficult time, we were able to Skype her and later visit her. The staff kept me informed at every stage. After she was admitted to hospital and in my battle to get her home, the support given
to me by the manager was outstanding. In her last days, her family were able to visit her and say their goodbyes keeping everyone safe. Even the funeral directors commented on the respect and care given to Mum when they collected her had never been seen before.

My mum has settled really well into Hampton Grange. All the staff are very caring, and communication with them is excellent. During these difficult times with covid19, they have kept me informed of how Mum is. I was absolutely delighted to receive photos of Mum in the post during the lockdown. I would
highly recommend Hampton Grange.

My mother has been in Hampton Grange for around four weeks. She loves the staff, they are very friendly. There is a lot of care here mum wants for nothing, the staff are amazing, and nothing is too much trouble. They go above and beyond. The home is clean, and lots of activities and the food mum says
is lovely.

My husband has been at Hampton Grange for 18 months and he is well cared for and all the staff are very kind to him and the amount of work they have to do they all deserve a medal.
Although my husband has dementia and the staff always go the extra mile to encourage him to be active and engaged. When
I visit I am always welcomed with a smile and give me an update of how my husband is. Thank you all.

I know the care and effort put in, I know that the costs for 24 care can be daunting but I do think it is a very hard task set for the care industry. The team will always do what you need doing and they listen. Very Impressed, thank you to everyone concerned.

This is a lovely home but I'm very disappointed in the standard of care which the home provides. My Aunty lived at the home for a couple of years. When visiting you could walk into the building as the family knew the door code which I believe is wrong.
The staff are rude to some of the residents who
I believe to have dementia, making them sit down. They have a right to walk up and down the corridors.
A member of staff was on her phone at about 6:30 pm when I came to visit, the staff were all sat down on phones or putting makeup on.
This is a lovely home but the management is not trying and needs looking at. My aunty waited to go the toilet for a while. Some of the staff were lovely. I didn't like the way a member of staff spoke to a member of staff older than her.
The home needs to improve its care side. The boards on the rooms had residents details on for people to read walking by.
The food and drink are the best and lovely.

There are not enough members of staff. Handover between groups of staff is inefficient. The accounts department makes mistakes and are difficult to contact.
Residents should have more stimulating activities.
It is often difficult to find a member of the nursing staff if you have any queries regarding
your relative. Surely for the safety of the residents there should be a member of staff in the lounge/conservatory and or dining room at all times.
Dad's hearing aid and glasses have both disappeared.

The staff that are on duty when I go to visit are kind and caring.

My Grandmother has been at the Home for some time now and is really enjoying it, her bedroom and the other rooms in the home are decorated beautifully and always very clean. The grounds and surroundings are very impressive, it feels very grand and special when you arrive. And the staff and the care
that they provide don’t let it down either. Everyone is very kind and caring and friendly to the residents and the visitors. I would recommend that anyone looking for care for a loved one comes and has a look around Hampton Grange.

My Grandfather is enjoying his time here at Hampton Grange, he thanks us for finding him such a lovely home.
He enjoys many of the activities they organise and we have been on several outings together which is lovely.
We can always talk to the manager or a senior staff member when we want to and take
part in the care planning for my Grandfather.
I would certainly recommend Hampton Grange.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (10.000)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (10.000) out of 10 for Hampton Grange Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Hampton Grange Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (240 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 240 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hampton Grange Nursing Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
